I have a problem with powercuts from time to time, and it seems to blow my saves as well.
Best thing to do is probably to go to Media player storage on HD and make back ups.

@Sir Valimont i was on the same page. i'd thought it's glide bug. but it's turned out a pit hole. you don't die on fence when glide off, but on lava, a hallow, gliding is time ticking bomb. be careful, Icarus.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm all for interesting ways to die, but not when there's no logical way to know they can possibly happen. I was on Shiurath, used Glide, and was able to walk off the screen, and died instantly when I did so as a result of "Gravity." That just seems utterly lame considering I was dominating and had no chance of death.

@Candle14 hey, if you equipped heavy blunt and on bosh perk, don't chase into the blank where it just left after you dazed it. attack if you can but in case you can't(probably since speed gap), just wait for its comeback. if it goes away from you once again then, follow as much as it does. you'll get a chance soon. thief is so vulnerable to mob's blind attack because of lack of hp and defense. don't be a rush. calm yourself. i just scored 106k on act1 with bosh perk and subtlety pack thief for showing an example. 2 celerity, 2 camouflage, 2 toughness, 1 shadow mastery. vital strike would be so helpful with blunt weapon. sleep, charm, dispel are always awesome to stun enemy.

ah! Daze plus the heavy cudgel helps. Still quite hard and have to go slower. But very hard to deal with the heavy brutes on Level 3, even with Blinding skill.

Score = MINUS 790!? Didn't know that was possible. Thief, Level 1, Act 3, Suicide. Guess I took too much time to die! I can't figure out how a thief can win on Suicide, Act 3 -- took Daze ability. But just can't do enough damage.

@Appels, there are no grinding in this game. The classes are cheap, and perk/gear options are not vital. They may make your game easier, may not, and even may render it harder (naked pack, noncombatant). And, to be honest, it is extremely hard to find better flash roguelike.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What's available from start up is embarassingly simple for a rogue-like. If you're going to hide class choice behind a grind/pay wall then I'm just going to go play the dozens of free, better rogue-likes.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The thief doesn't do enough damage to kill just about anything in Quest I. Cockatrices, Ogres, Bulls, and especially the boss are all pretty much immune to a thief's dagger with every single imaginable buff. It takes everything I have and a couple potions just to take out a lone Ogre that I've crept up on. 4/5 for now!

@czarnyptak i had thought like you do. leech wiz and insp wiz are different subclasses should be treated different way each. LW is better with a melee weapon, more hp invest, and fencer perk. concentrate on attack and defense instead of int. play it like as a fighter with a powerful vamp skill. nevertheless, it's still bit less effective to get high score than alchemist build.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ok, so is it me, or Leach is rather weak choice? small damage, long recharge, forces you to be close, which wizard should generally avoid etc.
On it's own it could probably pass, but if the choice is GREAT skill like Inspiration, it seems that the choice is really easy...
I will be more than happy to be corrected, just my 2c.

1.04 aborted? thief's inferiority, AI of wisp, shoe gear prominence, and more... there are too many things to patch up. I... WE stil wait for it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the wisp SUCKS. it wanders too far, doesn't obey line of sight rules, dies too easily, misses too much and aggros everything within a quarter mile radius. i think the rules and downsides of the wisp need to be readjusted.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Enduring dagger consecrates pretty well... Not +3+3, but +3 speed +2 stealth is nice enough...
Maybe someone cares, I at least have bad luck with finding good weapons when I want to consecrate :P
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Rolan: Have you completed all the tasks of previous ranks? Finish those first, then it will light up 100% and complete the rank.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
even if thief found a superb dagger in the first level it's weaker than the other melee classes and easily dying. it's really hard to get 120k with thief, on the contrary it's not that hard to get 130k with pugilist. i love stealth system. that's why i obsess about thief. if you concentrate on stealth, it'll take too much of time. if speed, stealth is unstable and you're gonna be caught very soon. both builds lack hp and defense anyway, a single little mistake would be doom for those precious runs.

Link of everything about this game. Colored pages. Teknofan has done an awesome work! :) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1O_znLiHUeh0O29WtwuWlOxoC0x9KgZ8O_wWg0yyIIp0/edit#gid=89568371

So, I was poisoned and down to my last hit point. Next to me lied an Achilles' Bracer which increased my HP by 2. I moved onto the bracer and died from poisoning, but the game still asked me if I wanted to equip the bracer. I did. End result: the guy is still standing (with 2 HP), I still got a Game Over, and the Heroic Record states "Alive" as the cause of death.

Also, this question is to Randomnine. I know I might sound stupid, but what program did you use to create Cardinal Quest 2?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game, I'm still sorta new to this game, started about a month ago, but loved it. I think the retro genre needs to be returned. Randomnine did a great display of how the old fashioned ways of playing, are still new and exciting.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
#%^^@.... 10k short of the impossible badge. Not sure what else I could have done to get a higher score. Suicide difficulty is no joke.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Very cool game, but death sequence animation is way too long. Please, make option for "Game over" and "Restart" buttons to appear instantly.

In a future sequel I would love to see this as a simple multi-player, for just between friends. The enemy stats would just need to be bumped up a little, and the item drops and chests could be left the same. The resulting scarcity would help compensate for the increased number of players. The core mechanics wouldn't need to change a bit.

Paladin: The gods helped me kill a dragon.
Wizard: I took down a dragon with my magic.
Ranger: I only had a bow.
Fighter: I used a sword.
Thief: That's nothing, I used a knife.
Pugilist: I killed a dragon WITH MY BARE HANDS.

I'm loving this game. I'd really like to see more ways to grow between playthroughs, though - maybe allow me to have more than one perk if i spend extra morale?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
hi, complainer again. ranger's warden build seems not so reasonable. why would one choose health when you can sharpen your doggie's teeth. No, randomnine didn't make any build. i'm just saying. again, complainer. by the way I WAS WRONG. ranger is good. so is wizard. thief... not that bad WHEN you play them right way. i still don't like intimidate, charge, dash, flashbomb though. those are skills needed when you play cautiously and bit timidly. charge is anti-ranged enemy skill. dash is for escape. teleport, blink, teleport away, glide, magic mirror does almost same thing. if you want a fast strong run with fighter, thief, pugilist, put your points into basic stats like toughness, precision, celerity, camouflage, unarmed, impact, and one or two of highend skills if it's possible without middle rank skill waste.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This guy. He takes on all these monsters, with no weapon, no friends, and a mustache (pretty sure). He is.... The pugilist.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Popipop, you can. Go to %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects and find "Chat.Kongregate.com. Then copy your flash files from one computer to another.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nice game :) it is too bad that it only saves on local computer instead on the Kongregate's saving system. I use several computers and would love to be able to play my games on any of them
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
what makes pugilist the best class: you don't have to pray that there must be a fine weapon matching with your build. you can make your own luck.
