Charging into the castle as a Pugilist shouting "I fear no man!" Immediately get surrounded by an Acid Blob, a Conjured Elemental, and an Ogre. Those were NOT men...

The game is fun addictive. Although I think some of the skills could be improved to retain usefulness at later levels of the game. Like say warrior's Precision grants an additional +1 Att per 9 levels per rank of the skill, so say a level 12 warrior with rank 2 would have +2 Att from the skill and +4 Att from levels. Or say Wizard's Spell Damage grants +1 Min Damage per 8 levels per rank and +1 Max Damage per 8 Int per rank, such that at level 4 with rank 2 and 12 Int the 2-5 damage on fireball would get +2 Min Damage from level and +3 Max Damage from Int. Although, this may ovepower the importance of adapting to the gear you find, so you could reduce the benefits or ignore me completely.

First of all, great game. In my opinion there are a few improvements that could be made. I think that the buyable perks and gear are quite bad for the price. I would also like longer levels and more intricate skill trees. A few new classes wouldn't hurt either.

it would be nice if u can continue to use the same hero in other acts. after that it is a rly good game... 5/5 for me

I am on 3-6 and cleared the whole level and can find no exit. I have combed over the map 10 times and can find nothing. What am I missing?

Game is incredibly fun and mostly well designed, but the difficulty can be really uneven. I'll be plowing through monsters one moment and then get one-shotted the next. Some levels have enemies spread out rather well, and other times they're so clumped together they eat away at your health almost instantly.

I'm really not fond of having my character move in a different direction when I'm trying to move on an unavailable space. It feels unintuitive and dangerous.

@MechaPants: you can use the tab key to select targets for abilities, then just press enter to attack. much easier than using the mouse imo

Suggestion: if you have a skill active, you shouldn't be able to use a potion. I can't tell you how many armor patches and whetstones I've wasted as a ranger trying to shoot an enemy at the bottom of the screen.

Very fun game. Would love to see an update with some new levels in the future though. I also find the Wizard and Thief to be underpowered, but it could just be me. Warrior and Pugilist (love that name btw!) are definitely my favorites

That's a very good game thank you. It makes me think of dark souls a little. Just need some badges but I don't doubt it'll be done soon.

Health should be restored on level-up. Some health should also be regained while you're walking around and not in combat.

In dire need of updates. This is amazing, but the lack of content hurts the overall play time. I'd gladly pay if this had more padding.

That you can carry so few items makes it quite challenging, but unfortunately, it also takes a lot of the creativity you can use in more complex roguelikes away. But pretty nice for a flash game.

A great old-school, (light) roguelike game. Many options, entertainment, great graphics and music, although I'd like to see more acts and some better-balanced options for characters. A little bit more variety in acts would be the greatest way to make this game even better. 4/5!

2 thing you can add to your game.
1. An option to sell spell and 2. give a morale bonus for complete a map and kill all monsters.

Dear Randomnine, creator of Cardinal Quest I and II, if I were a wealthy person I would give you buckets and buckets of money to keep doing exactly what you're doing. Easily the best Flash Rouge-like of all time. Keep it up!

Achievements should give much more morale, esp. the later ones. I can get more morale clearing level 1 on normal with a fighter than I get from most achievements.

Fun game. Love the old school pixel style and the straightforward game play. I also like how if I run into something I automatically strafe left or right to move past it instead of dumbly bashing myself into a barrier. From what I can see this game is fairly solid. 5/5
