As for the game, well, obviously I've played it a lot hehe. It's pretty awesome, but there's one thing that kinda bugs me. Money is kinda pointless because nothing bad happens to you when you die, and the only thing to spend money on is healing. The basic gameplay of it is cool, though. I had been sick of these "match 3" games for years, but this puts a whole new spin on it. 4/5

moonson..i think the reason you..and a lot of people are saying this is a waste of time is because kongregate categorized it wrong...this isnt an rpg game....this is a puzzle game..i say this because as some people have said this is like bejeweled but with a storyline. and obviously a different concept...and bejeweled is classified as a puzzle game...in the eyes of a puzzle game/bejeweled type game..its actually pretty good.

You have to see the guy in the flashing castle and then go back and turn all the roads green by killing all the monsters on them, and THEN go to the next area in order to get new spells. I've got 3 of them.

timolan...you have no right saying its a bad game if you dont play it....going to first village and stopping is nowhere near close playing

i agre... sorry rapaxus, this is a total waist of time has a game! i'll give it 1 for the image, and 1 for the music! so 2/5

@Sethorien. It appears that when you travel along a road (regardless of how many fights you have), you become tired and do 50% damage. A 20 gold rest returns you to 100% damage. A 100 gold rest gives you 200% damage.

I wish people who made games this good would bother to have a friend with proofreading skills double-check their language. Grammar and spelling errors are distracting, and take away from the appearance of professionalism.

i think this game sucks! i mean i havntt got any new spells resting does nothing i mean seriously and no weapons upgrades NOTHING UPDATE UR GAME

i agree with peteyc, haven't spent much time playing but its gameplay isnt great, ive played rpgs and what not for ages, this game one of my least favourites, badges would help and maybe a sequel? 2.5/5

%{color:red}I liked it but I beat it without getting any new spells, so they are pretty worthless. I'm gonna go back and try them out%

As for items, you could have armor (increases HP), shields (decreases damage taken from physical attacks), amulet (decreases damage taken from magical attacks), wands (increases your damage), healing potions (sacrifice a turn and use one for some instant healing), invisibility potions (avoid a battle once), etc.
Anyway, these are just a few ideas I came up with right now, I'm sure if you work at it you can add much more variety and interest to the game. As it is, it doesn't really have much in the way of tactics, and it gets repetitive long before it's over, but it has potential. 4/5 because I'd like to see you make another, better version.

I'd suggest including some instructions, most people don't seem to realize that they need to rest or they'll get weaker. Otherwise, this is an okay game but the resting system is kind of stupid. Being able to buy items and spells would be a better use of money. Also, more variety in spells would be nice, as right now there are only three types of spells--straightforward damage, drain, and healing. How about a spell that gives a chance of the enemy missing their turn? A spell that deals damage over time? A spell that raises your defense, making attacks against you do less damage? A spell that can't be defended against? A spell whose blocks can only be moved by you, not by your enemy? A super spell that requires a line up of four blocks to activate, but which is very high damage?

whoever developed this spent way too much time on such a crappy game...the only reason i would want to beat this would be for badges and there are none

I think the difference in the two rest options is the speed at which you travel along the road. The more you pay, the faster you go, the less likely it is you'll encounter monsters.

To say this is "inspired" by Puzzle quest is being a little generous. Though largely solid, the gold system seems almost entirely superfluous and some enemies seem unbalanced. An ok game, but not much more.

very nice little game. could use a bit more variety, but still nice. i would add weapons and armor shops in town, to modify certain spells and defenses, to offset the advantage some critters get. perhaps an academy to train spells and increase damage/heal factors if not through equipment.
for those wondering, you get new spells by "patroling" each road on the map after making it to the capital (DONT go east yet if you want to learn!) ((patroling makes the road green. all green means you win the new spell))

I just discovered you don't even need to rest. Clicking fight again will regenerate your health, and so will even reaching a town.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ok there is no point to spend gold resting in town as you go back to full hitpoints just by reaching a town. and what is up with the monsters getting to occasionally go 2x to your 1?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
this game is stupid... But still good.. If u travel to east when u didnt even wannet to go to the east then u cant go back before u have slainet some sick enemies.. 3/5 XD

hey guys, i was wondering...is there an alternate ending?
I did the dark one, where they chased me away and stuff, but if you DONT use the dark magic, would something different happen? or would he discover it anyways by way if "defence"? please reply, and if you have the time, play it again without using the dark spell on the wizard at the end.
ITS DRIVING ME INSANE!

maybe, it would be a better game if it had better music, ingame action, and some other things, and this game isn't very original...3/5 anyway
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
there just isnt realy anything to do posibly make a level and item system. so this game gets boring fast and i dont think its worth more than a 2/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you actually make it all the way through the game - you'll realize there's a decent storyline ending with the promise of a sequel (hopefully the sequel won't be as boring as this game was).

if you're going to rip off puzzle quest then you should do a better job of it. Get some abilities in there and a way to customise your character other than picking fire of ice spells to fight with.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A nice lite puzzle gameplay but there is no save and load function.
Also the money earned are not very useful apart being used for resting and while resting seems to have little effect other than the fact that the avatar looked refreshing.

Not sure why this is filed under RPG, as a guy that only says "Yes, father." is hardly a role. The artwork is beautiful, but the game mechanics need some serious work. Extremely repetitive, no real advancements in power other than "don't choose what the enemy is resistant to" over and over, only the barest rudiments of strategy, and does anyone else notice the sound the main character makes when he's hit? It's the same noise the wolf makes. All in all, a forgettable title.

How is this a copy of puzzle quest!?
In Puzzle Quest you level up, have stats, learn spells/skills, get mounts, do quests, and hell even conquer cities! I see none of that in this game, you idiot!
