Overly gory, sounds are stolen from Warcraft II, and the fullscreen animations (and worse, sounds + picture) distract from the game. This has been done at least twice before, and I much prefer the earlier approach of making the pieces actual people and animating both moves and captures on the board itself. 1/5

Incorrectly decides "STALEMATE" a lot of the time. I had three queens, a King, and an extra pawn or two and all the computer had was his King. I was maneuvering my queens around and it randomly declared STALEMATE.

this is a fail game sometimes the pieces dont move properly like im trying to attack with a king forward, and it doesnt show up

i won without taking a single piece in about 8 turns. Computer spent too much time on offense and left itself wide open for a checkmate.

I hate games that outright steal from other games. This game steals the sounds from Blizzard's WarCraft 2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warcraft_2

Is it stale-mate if the opponent still has a useable peice left? In this case I had the computer in 'stale-mate' (because the King was unable to move without being in check) but the computer still had a useable Knight left, yet it was still game over due to 'stale-mate'. Also, If I 'kill' said Knight it also results in an automatic stale-mate. The game itself is pretty good. The animation scenes get in the way sometimes it would be good if there was a button to turn them on and off. The rules need to be sorted a little but other than that, it's a good game. 4/5.

The only point is to watch the animations, and Kill the Spartan does that much better. The chess engine itself is very bad, there is no option to set the level, and constantly going to a fullscreen animation breaks your concentration and takes away from the pleasure of playing chess.

The game is quite allright, but some of the 'executions' are perhaps a bit too graphic, in my opinion - but a part of the game nontheless, as it's a part of the originallity..
The computer itself is not too smart, and I had no troubles beating it. I'm giving it a 4/5 for the bit of creativity :)
