I think the wrench and the doll were taken by the last known player and not returned... i can't collect anything from the cargo boxes (unless i need to find those somewhere else too? Not the right side of the partially opened doors?)

you cant end the game cause you cant click on containers at the start... sad.. Morningstar was one of the best Point'n'Click games here...

The game won't work with Supernova BUT IT IS AVAILABLE ON STEAM.
I know most of you have came here for the nostalgia, so most of you are adults and have the way to afford the game so, if you can, buy it. It is always a good idea to give the developers some money for all the fun they gave us in our childhoods.

this is so sad: all these ppl still commenting and flash (and pretty much Kong) are getting shut down at the end of this month

This is a 2009 game, and it got this much quality to it! It's unbelievable! I just wished that objects glew so I knew more or less where to click instead of mindless clicking and guess. Some stuff is not well explained or tips given can be just a little vague. Because of that, I got stuck on a few parts until I found out what to do after carefully looking around methodically or clicking everywhere until something happened. That can be unfun at times. But overall, that can be overlooked, because this was an awesome game to play nonetheless!

For those lamenting the end of Flash player, it's the end of ADOBE Flash player only. A plugin that can be used with chromium has been developed: https://www.getsupernova.com/extension/. I just hope Kongregate doesn't decide to just remove all these old games.

What a pity about the end of Flash and the end of Kong. This was one of the best games, an easy 5 stars for Morning star. Goodbye.

Walkthrough: Google is your friend. I found one on jayisgames that was very helpful. I doubt I would have finished the game without it, as there were plenty of steps that I did not find to be logical, and that's my biggest complaint about this type of game. Nonetheless, the vast majority of the things you have to do do have some logic to them, even if that's only apparent in hindsight. (But still, how would our hero have known to do half of these things?) The artwork is stunning, especially the opening and closing movies. Definitely one of the better examples of this type of game.

Someone spent a significant amount of time on this game, graphics, hot spots, etc. Unfortunately, the story / order of operations is nonsensical. Half the time I have no idea why I'm doing what I'm doing, far too much pixel-hunting and assumptions (I found a gas mask, but I guess I don't need it to walk outside into an alien planet?) And then, what sense does it make to require me to fix the breaches in the hull before I go out? Who cares? And how do I know that those things need to be fixed? It won't let me out until I do them, my character shouldn't know they're broken. Anyway. Great start, but need a story consultant. 3/5

@SataiDelenn Pay attention. He's telling you to make a filter. The gasmask has a filter, and you can use the adapter tube to connect it.

@SataiDelenn I managed to find this old thread, might be of use https://armorgames.com/community/thread/3522010/morningstar-walkthrough-step-by-step

Terrific. I'm stuck where the captain keeps telling me I have enough stuff to make something but I have no idea how to make it, and the walkthrough is no longer available. Further, this is an upcoming BOTD, and it's now impossible thanks to no walkthrough. Awesome... (insert MASSIVE sarcasm!)

OMFG! How irritating to try and reach for something or pick something up, and I get, "I can reach in now..." or, "I should pick it up first." Pick WHAT up!? Jesus!

All these years later and still one of the best flash games out there. I got through without a walkthrough, but the game is seriously challenging at some parts. I still love the cutscenes and the story is great!

a little hint: you will have to use every combination of codes in the right and middle room when you reach the alien base and it's not always a 3-sign comb ;) awesome game!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I remember being in the alien base, going out of a room, then going back in and there was a head there that wasn't there before, and I freaked and hard shut my computer and ran to my parents lol

also, steel rod + buddha = crowbar was even more nonsensical than the monkey wrench from the old monkey island games - if you played them in a language that wasn't english
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Man I remember playing this when I was maybe 12 and those stone heads freaked me out. I thought I remembered a sequence with the robots chasing but that was probably my overactive imagination.
Definitely the best point and click escape game I've ever played.

5 stars. haven't even loaded the game yet. this game deserves 5 stars becuase it tells you how long you need to wait for the game to load.

The only logical explanation I can think of for creating a crowbar with a steel rod and a Buddha statuette is that the Buddha is heavy enough to use as a hammer and bend the end of the rod. Am I close or am I crazy?
