The key to getting a high score is to get lots of yellow shapes early on. Yellows not only help you catch more shapes, they increase your multiplier so you get more points per shape. (They also give you some bonus points at the end, but those are small). Getting the Yellow Madness early on is critical, so you have a higher multiplier for the rest of the stage. (If you're lucky, you can get it right after a purple, so it sucks in all the yellows!). Yes, all this is determined by chance, so play a little into the song and then keep restarting until you get the right powerups early on. I couldn't figure out why my score would vary from 2M to 4M even when I did roughly the same thing each time; for so much to depend on things you can't control just adds frustration to an otherwise relaxing game. Also, it's much better to miss a few shapes than to hit a red and have your multiplier wrecked. And try to time when you get the yellow madness to when there are more shapes on the screen.

This is probably one of the greatest and simplest games I've ever played, it's amazing, it makes you just so very calm, I mean...the guy who made this deserves a raise or something.

To get the hard badge you have to do 2 things. First the settings have to be right. (1) Shapes - Abstract (2) Pattern - Straight (3) Motion - Fixed. However the second thing you have to do no one has mentioned. You must get the flashing colored powerup (which changes everything to yellow notes) EARLY on in the game. The cut off is about 20-25% thru the song. If you havent gotten it by then, restart. Please rate up so people dont get frustrated they cant get enough points.

wow. When I first played this I never thought I'd be able to get that hard badge, then this strategy of abstract, straight, fixed and POOF first try over 6.8mil and 87% collection AND I even hit a red note close to the end. Thanks for the stat guys!

i got 6,113,120 on letting go.
explanation: at begining just try to get as much yellows as possible till you get 20x still get blues though. after u get 20x keep on doing the same routine, not touching the reds (bad). After u get 100x stay kind of low, and wait for blues to come down and just go back and forth from left to right avoiding red ones( go around those ). and just keep going till its all over, and ur amazed and happy!

I just can't seem to get the hard badge. I got 83% of the shapes, hit no reds, and had a combo of 131 and still only made it 4.2m. I wish the yellow madness dropped more often than once every 10 plays. Either way, I still love this game

After a rough day of schoolwork, learning my girlfriend is moving to Chicago in 3 months, being yelled at by my parents, and flustered at life, this game brought back to peace with the music and those wonderful purple music notes :D

Man even if i score over 5 million i still don't get the badge.I scored 5,784,128 and the game says that i didn't achieve the hard badge >:(

Best so far on Letting Go: 6,396,450 I find it easiest to use straight, and fixed in options. It's much easier to track the reds and yellows and avoid/get them.

Music Catch is a great game, I love being able to use MP3 tracks, which adds so much to the game and gives it endless replayability
But what I hate is that to get the badges it seems that for high scores you simply have to restart over and over until right at the beginning of a song you get a yellow madness and purple power combo - otherwise getting to 5 million is impossible even when I'm catching ~90%. If it weren't for the game relying too heavily on luck compared to skill I'd give it a 5/5, but at present I say 3.

@duskshine Your strategy worked on the third try. Not only do the red 'notes' flow at the same pace than the other 'notes,' but it's also much easier in my opinion to weave in and out of them. Thanks for the tip!

I agree with Ninja37 - abstract, straight, fixed... got it on my third try, 85% - 5, 939, 751 pts. - always nice to get a hard badge with less than 15 minutes worth of work!

Floral, Wave, Straight, RESTART if no YELLOW MADNESS before progress bar hits "R" of "Rate this game", restart if you hits any red any time, after a few tries you should settle. the most important thing: yellow madness in first 20%. Also is there anyone else finds Hard Dailies annoying? Speak up or we'll get a impossible daily tomorrow!

Hard badge got first try, 5080029. 85% collected. Floral shapes, wave, straight. Just go left to right up near the top, but low enough so you can see reds coming. Try to get every yellow and avoid every red.

After digging through the comments and spending 2.5 hours getting the badge, a few key things.
- Getting yellow madness right away, if it doesn't appear in the first few seconds restart
- Shape should be floral, someone said they were the largest, and it was true, much easier to get the shapes with this setting
- You have to get some purples in there, or it just won't happen.

How much % are people getting how get the hard badge? 90% notes caught, not a single red one hit, 120x yellow, and I get 4,500,00. This seems so luck based on whether you get the yellows early enough, and enough purple notes to boost you up there :( Random, Straight pattern, fixed motion, random off

57% of the notes: about 4 million points, 87% of the notes, only about 2.4 million. I think it had something to do with the fact that everytime I went for that stray note, it had a red hidden under it.

I don't get how people are saying how the hard badge is so simple. I'll struggle to get 85% of the symbols and still only manage to walk away with 3.5 million points.

i don't know how you guys get this... i avoided all red shapes, got 73% and i didn't see a single yellow shape get by me and didn't get even 1/2 way there. crazy

Finally it took me 3 hours to get the right combination for the hard badge.:)))))))))))))))))))
To help others:
1. the easy one is easy just do the songs and you should get it
2.for the 4000 shapes badge do pattern:straight and motion: fixed remember you only get the badge if you do leaves of the wind. Go to a side to side motion and when you get bigger you can get all the shapes.PS randomize off
3.to get 100x in gentle do the setting above except on the song gentle. When you get you yellow madness stop getting shapes and wait until it get to the bottom of the screen to get it to maximaze yellow bonus.
4. the hard badge is really hard because its mostly luck.I finally did it with the setting above and then just reseting the game until i got my yellow madness in the first 5 seconds
