The game doesn't work if it's not active tab. Cause of that for now only 1/5. If you'll change it I'd give it about 4/5, need to play it longer to give more accurate score.
Sorry, but browsers do reduce CPU-usage of inactive tabs since a while to save energy, while that might be good for energy usage, it is bad for idle games. It does progress in an inactive tab (firefox) for me, but because of the very low CPU they get it is a bit slower. In Chrome that is worse, not much I can do about that.
However the game has offline progress so if you don't actively play it, then close it and come back when you play it, you should get the full progress.

For those having issues: If your stuff is gone after a refresh, try going to the "Info" tab and clicking "Load online". If it freezes after you tab out, move your mouse off the game's screen (Towards the comment section, for example) and scroll down to fix it.
That might be because the beta version was on a different url. If it doesn't autoload you save, you can usually get it back if you load online. But you need to do that fast after before it autosaves above it.

If I go to another tab (Chrome) then back to the game, the game will almost always completely freeze for a period of between a few second and over a minute. Can't interact with anything. Then all of a sudden it'll catch up with itself. This is the only game this happens on for me.

To evolve a fairy do you need 1000 base growth rate and 50 cooking medals or 1000 total growth and 50 cooking medals?

I just unlocked Mashed potatoes in a "Vegetarian" region, the dish is counted as Vegan (containing milk) - i guess it should be Vegetarian too

does that mean population has no influence at the moment?
and is it intended that im stuck at seaside hill for weeks because i dont get curry from the challengers or is it just bad luck?
It has an influence, before the last update the influence was just lower than it is now. Before the last update the scaling was really low for populations bigger than 5000. Now it scales better after that.
And there is no Curry ingredient in the game if you are looking for that. Curry is a theme for a dish with a mix of different spices. You can create it yourself if you use at least 4 different spices + one main ingredient (anything other than spice with at least 100 gram).

How do you tell if your shop is at max speed? Its been awhile since I read tutorial (I cant seem to find it again anywhere) but more staff will help max out profits once speed is maxed right?
Max speed is at 0.05 seconds sell time for a dish, but you need very high stats to reach that. You probably need to play months for that. At the alpha version the speed was capped depending on the population, but I removed that cap a while ago.

the higher challengers really need a bigger reward. they are way harder than the level 0 but only give a little bit more money, which is useless because you make way more with restaurants than with challengers anyway. so the only benefit that stays is one extra secret per challenger level which is basically nothing. i think when you can get researches high enough for challenger levels 1 and 2 it wouldnt hurt game balance to give the higher challengers more cooking medals as reward
You can already get more cooking medals at higher difficulties. It is 1 + difficulty /3 rounded down, but currently capped at 3. So at difficulty 3 you get 2 medals and 4 secrets and at 6+ you would get 3 cooking medals and 7 secrets. Difficulty 6 may sound hard at the beginning, but there are actually a few people who can already constantly beat difficulty 6.
Also don't underestimate the secrets. They can add up and are powerful if you have enough.

is it just me beeing too stupid or are the challenger battles too hard? i only won 2 of 10 battles against the easiest challenger and i dont understand why? theres a judge that likes sweet and dislikes sour and loves variation of ingredients or what its called. i serve a dish that has lots of sweet and no sour and and the opponent still gets alot more points from that judge even if he serves a sour dish with only 1 ingredient. that makes no sense to me
The biggest factor in the challenger battles is your recipe quality research. Although the first one should be doable even with low level research (~20). To beat the second one you should have at least ~120 quality research on the recipe you use, for second difficulty you need ~220 quality research and a battle fairy.

Is it just me or are the waiters stats way less than half the cooks stats so they are not worth it compared to getting a second cook?

so when I retire, I keep the recipes like fish soup, but the quality and speed are set to zero, does not pay to retire and beat the the cooks again IMHO.
The pupil has to gain the experience for cooking the dishes by himself. It is unlikely that a pupil can create dishes as good as the master from the start. You still keep the secrets, though. And I think it is worth it to get more cooking medals and you need it once in a while to increase your multis.

Not sure why this is, but my waiter actually decreases my earnings for the restaurant. I can't figure out what's causing it, either.
If you don't use a waiter, the cook will use half of its stats for waiting. If you use a waiter not, then only the waiter uses its stats for that. So if your waiter has much lower stats than the cook(s) in the restaurant, then he might lower the earnings unless you train him for a bit first.
But I will look into that and might balance it a bit differently or give out more info about that.

i really like the game, and i think it could be good some better interface for the creation of the food like what increase and what not, before trying and check the various combo, also what the change of assigning the dish in restaurant, since if you put 2 rice dish and then a dessert the overall sum is lower than the only 2 rice dish sometimes, it can get the perfect ratio with trying off some combo, but when you got a lot of dish is gonna be kinda hard and tedious, so if you find time try to get some usuful tip or tool for us, also explain better what freshnees and quality of ingredient do (for people that don't know increase the base value of the total quality of the dish, so more quality of ingredient and freshness and better quality you get out) there is a lot of thing to do, but the start is very good!
Yes I guess it needs to be more visible if a recipe is good for the current area or not.
What I can say and is currently ingame: A dish with the fitting theme of the area will receive a popularity boost of 10. All dishes which don't fit the theme will reduce their popularity by half. If the whole menu includes a drink, all dishes will receive a 20% popularity boost. If the whole menu includes a drink and a desert, all dishes will receive a 30% popularity boost. Other than that, the quality and a few other things affects the popularity.
Soon, ingredients will affect the outcome a bit more depending on the combination. But I will think of a way to make it more visible and so easier to select the best dishes for a restaurant.

The female model is a bit over the top with the teeny skirt and cutesy pose. It kind of squicked me out. Also, preparation, not preperation. :)
Thanks, I will fix the spelling error. But it would be hard to change the female. I didn't draw it myself and bought it from a japanese guy a few months ago which is not available anymore. Not sure if I can draw a fitting skirt myself without lowering the quality.

ok maybe is just me but the customize effect in restaurant doesn't work,
what i mean is: the uniform don'change the speed of sales or price of food you serve but change what is the expense of your maintenance, so basically you spend more for nothing since it doens't work! fix it!
second, the type of food like fast food or luxury same problem is not working at all, fix it!
and third the fairy boost if you put some for mascot it say increase 25% sale speed and sale max, but it boost just the max sale and not the speed, another fix!
there is other great problem but it still in an early and i think very early alpha, so i will support you since i like your game, just fix it and don't forget people that like your game! thx and have a good work and day!
You are right, the customizing worked at first, but at that time the balancing for sell speed and prices was bad and had a cap. I changed that a while ago which made the customizing buttons pretty much useless. I will rework them a bit when I come to it so they are actually useful. But first I need to add the combination boosts / penalties of ingredient because that will also influence it. Not sure if I can do all of that this week, but it will be done eventually.
As for the fairy, you are right, currently increasing the price will decrease the speed by the same amount. So increasing the price by 25% lowers the speed by 25% which will make it seem that it doesn't increase the speed. I will also think about how to balance that better.

Just a bit of nitpicking, but the tooltip when you get to the neighbor district just says for everything "You will challenge the owner of this area to a cooking battle. To do that you need to pay a participation fee of $ 300. Your fame also needs to be at least 1. The higher your fame". That's all.
Yes I mostly did bugfixes and small updates for ITRTG. But it will get a big update this year, a few months after I will release ICE. ICE still needs a few more weeks of work before I can release it for all people, though.

for people having trouble with game not running unlesss it is in an ative windown. simply do this. open the game then open new tab on browser. drage tat new tab away so it makes a new window and there u go. active idle window open now ( i do this with 9 idle games in single tabs all active windows at same time.
They are not that laggy for me, but sometimes I can see that it takes a split second to load the right ui-content. I will look into it a bit and try to improve this a bit.

I didn't receive the new ingredients after beating the museum district, there was only pop-up that i received it :)
At research when im researching receipiets, next at is not working
At research themes when you have for example curry on lvl 5, egg lvl 0, flour lvl 0 all with next at 5, research will stop on egg and not continue further.
Ah seems like it works but it doesn't update the ui. If you click anywhere else, then on research again, it updates the ui to show it. But I will fix that so it updates the ui at the right time.
As for the ingredient, I will look into it.

I read the tutorial. Like others have said, challenge is bugged. I select the recipe, and everything is 44.6% done and 999 for values. Can't do anything. Maybe fix this before yelling at people who comment in an attempt to help you know what is wrong.
Not sure where you read that I yelled at someone. I only wrote that I will try to improve it, look into it and it is weird because most players don't have that issue, and the answer what to do which helped most people. It is also hard to fix it if I can't reproduce it. I tried to start a new game and reproduce it dozend of times and never had an issue. It is hard to fix a bug if I can't reproduce it and if someone reports a bug and says: doesn't work, that also doesn't help much with reproducing the issue.
So if you really want to help, it would be nice if you can give me a step to step description of what I can do to reproduce the issue.

Instead of being a jerk and commenting on how I didn't read the tutorial, how about instead you believe me when I say the cooking battle is bugged.
Sorry if that offended you. It is just that you are the only one who said that and others didn't have a problem with cooking battles being bugged. A bug which only affects one player is weird after all. And numbers are 999 per default if someone didn't select a recipe. So did you select a recipe and it still happened and do you have any way of reproducing it?
Well I will look into it and every feedback is appreciated, it often means I have to change anything so other people don't have the same issues.

Thanks for the new game. However how can you claim it's an idle game when it only runs when window is active? Win10. Edge.
The problem is that browsers will slow down the cpu usage for everything by up to 99% if they are not in an active window. Most idle game also have the issue that they only run at full speed in an active window. I can look into it to improve that, but it is probably not possible to get full progress if the game is in an inactive window. I don't think it is much of a problem to let it run on its own window, though. But if you can't do that, the game also has offline progress so if you go offline and come back you should have pretty much full progress.

Haven't even gotten to the game yet, and every single option available for the female character screams "sex object". Mini-tie vs corset. Miniskirt vs panties. Absurdly high heels. Posture that emphasizes vulnerability at the expense of comfort. Noooooo, thanks, not comfortable here. Please just draw women as people, is that too much to ask?
Hm I can't really draw that good myself so I bought the images. The one who drew it isn't available anymore so I can't really change it anymore. Although I don't really see anything bad with it. Imo it is more cute than anything else. It is japanese anime style and most people until now liked it. You also can just choose the male character instead if you don't like the female.

Most of your stats count for the score, so you should do well if you level all your training stats. For cooking duels, Speed decreases prepare time (min 0.5 sec, max 2 sec for everything), Intelligence decreases Cooking time, Idea decreases Presentation time.
Intelligence affects how much experience you gain.
But you are right, I need to improve the tooltips and battle tutorial a bit.

Challenge is bugged for me. All the bars are full blue, numbers are all 999, and says I finished. I gain no points, John gains hundreds of points.

One of the dishes I use after challenging Jane has Rice. However, after the challenge ends, it says my dish was Egg sunny-side up.
You get fame from selling food. The more happiness, the more fame you get. I will upload a new version with quite a few changes soon which also reduces the fame requirement for jane.
