I liked it a lot. It reminded me more of Fallout 1 & 2 than anything. My only complaint is that it was far too easy. if you just think before you act, you'll never die.

A very easy strategy: 1) equip all your troops with assault rifles eventually, this will allow to save ammo and kill small numerous enemies in close combat (leave your troops in defense mode near corners and monster entrances for that purpose). 2) other weapons are useless, dont buy sniper rifle. But DO NOT be lazy in early missions, open every box and save enough credits to be able to buy grenade launcher (400 creds) for the marine trooper which will be able to kill the huge monsters in level 10 very easily. Thats it - defense mode with assault rifles and grenade launcher for teh marine trooper - and every level is easy then. Anyway, nice game.

Really a great game! some potential for sure:
-add some weapons but not too much
-maybe a specialisation and an ability tree to make all marines different and usefull
-more freedom: a map (maybe?) and the possibility to choose your missions around the linestory
-more dynamic fights and the possibility to skip the ennemy turn ( already said but anyway...)

Really good game, but way too easy... Wait a sequel with more challenge (imho, the bugs that come form te tubes must be much more... a swarm of them will be fun... but add a limit of defensive actions in a turn for the bayonet, or they will be totally usless...)
Rated 5 stars, had a lot of fun.

Great game...until I got to stage 10 and were unable to buy the BIG GUN...and those big lugs dont want to get close to the last barrel......what now?

Xeno Squad was good but not great. It needs more levels to it to extend the fun. I would say it needs at least 15 more levels 3/5

Now thats a game that deserves to be longer (and perhaps more dificult). Loved the mission with the moving plataforms. Awesome work.

Great game, a couple of things make it a bit too easy though. Bayonets should miss sometimes, just like ranged weapons, maybe based on the size of the enemy targeted (to give the little guys some more threat at later levels). Also, the amount of actions you get in defense mode should be based on your remaining AP when you set defense, unlimited AP in defense mode makes it too easy once you cap your heat allowance/cooling stats, not to mention unlimited bayonet use. On a more general UI note, it would be nice to have XP bars for the units, since their XP is gained individually. Would make it easier to keep them close together level-wise.

Excellent game. That said, need to increase the level of difficulty once you get Magnus' ability to shut down spawn points. Either remove his ability or let monsters leaping out have a move once they exit. Otherwise you can simply park a bayonet there until Magnus gets there to shut it down. Easily a 5/5 if it was more challenging.

The last mission should end as soon as you have shut down all spawning points and killed all enemies. I wasn't even putting much effort into it, and I still had all spawning points shut down by turn 18.

+ If you managed to take out every bug and seal all the spawn points on level 11 before the last turn rolled around!
Love this game!

Thank you so much for this game! When you learned to play the game, it becomes too easy. When you put a soldier in defense mode, he has infinite attacks. Keep up the good work!

The future is here - finally!! This game is lightyears ahead of anything else I have ever seen in flash! Every aspect is so brilliantly carved and polished! pure genious! Be proud that you have Instantly (just like the Matrix did) made everything prior look old and embarrasing! Thanks for moving this aging flash-scene forward!! Thank you, thank you thank you!!!

@Stucifer, the assault rifle has this usefull knife attached to it, which makes it better. It's great for guarding spawn points.

This is a rare and true gem.
The original Incubation was one of the most underrated games of all times. I always regretted that they could not follow it up with more content and multiplayer. So I can hope that this revival will go further than the original.
It's already on the good track. Thank you a zillion times!

thank you for bringing back one of my all time favourite games!
remarkable graphics and the best soundtrack / sounddesign i have seen in a browser game so far. some suggestions for the sequel: dont stick too close to the original, implement your own ideas and maybe connect the missions with a stronger storyline. also i dont think you need to keep the paze of the original, a little speeding up of the enemy turns would be nice. and i would love to see a more challenging difficulty for us incubation veterans :)

Seriously, why not have the option to replay a previous level? Farm xp and credits...
Still, fun and easy.
4/5 for not having a "skip enemy turn" button.

Good game, lots of fun, would be great to be able to sell your sniper rifle to pick up an assault rifle for the end in addition to the obligatory grenade launcher for your heavy marine. Also the "10 levels" badge isn't working even after I beat the bonus stage twice. When the sequel comes out I'm definitely playing! :)

Fun Game, some nice ideas and a nice, simple interface.
But seriously, this game was sooo easy! No challenge at all! A little disappointing. And no undo order, what messed up the turns sometimes..3/5

ctrl for rotation? hope you remembered to add a key for apples, too. i don't like them, but as fellow player they're brothers. Even when they act like rear-holes.
