I will add extra levels, you were already good at platformers right? Some people took 2 hours and more than 500 deaths just for those 14 levels. Balancing is not a joke... and BTW I'm not in charge of the tags, other players decided this was challenging.

Just completed the game, it wasn't *that* hard, because I am used to those types of platformers. But it was enjoyable
Thanks for your report. It's pretty weird, because it works on my firefox, so I'm not sure if I can fix this issue until someone tells me what does the dev console says :(
chill bro x) try walking at the opposite direction as the speeders, that could help. You'll go slower and it will be easier to jump at the right moment

I hate you DEV! It wasn't easy to get to the end and not I have to play it again just so I can see what happens if I don't have enough money for the pizza. Damn it man!
Great game, amazing job! Keep up the good work.

This is pretty good, and the levels are just long enough to be challenging but not impossible, but the dialog...it loses it's charm very quickly and becomes obnoxious.
You can disable it anytime! the goal of the game is getting to the end, it isn't mandatory to get mocked by that sassy ghost :)
PAUSE -->MENU-->Dialogues(Off)-->CONTINUE
That's because I reworked collisions few patchs ago, I've noticed it too tbh but my thought process tells me to jump even knowing it's safe to walk through them... will try to fix it :)

finished the game with 183 deaths in 29mins and with 40 cent tip :) love the game and i might play it again for the bad ending
You are totally right, I'm on my way on adding levels but outside of the main mode, I will do my best to be creative with the mechanics I've introduced through the game.

I thought it was a very reasonable game. You need to figureout a better system with the dialogue, so I dont die 4 times during the game due to reading it the first time through; thats really annoying. Perhaps just make it so the z key cancels dialogue, so that if you were going to jump you would anyway? Difficulty was totally fine, at this point
Thanks I'm sorry the dialogue pup ups frustrated you, I've had complains because few updates ago you could skip with z and people were pissed because they would skip dialogues unintentionally :c
I've implemented an option to disable the dialogues entirely (except for the ones in the possible endings) so that if you care more about not dying than about the ghost girl you could still play the game

A ghost girl who follows you around and criticizes everything you do sarcastically - CHECK
A good and a bad ending - CHECK
New mechanics every now and then - CHECK
Reasonable difficulty and different speed-run possibilities - CHECK
First run with other 1000 deaths and at least 2 hours spent - CHECK
Decided to give it 5 stars good job on the game

Noticed that TAB changes the graphics to what looks like an older style? Not sure if this is something that is found in the game (if it is, it must be a well hidden book)
Hidden feature. At some point in developing I made an alternative version of the spritesheet just to test how it'd look in a different style, I didn't like it but I also didn't want it to go to waste, so there you have it :)

You can get INTO walls in this game by just jumping a bunch of times in them, and sometimes mana crystals and coins just don't get used/picked up even though it's obvious that you've hit them, but overall this game is great
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Game speed seems to be linked to fps. This is making it basically impossible to beat level 3 because I can't release jump fast enough to only do a small jump.
The speed changes depending on your screen hertz apparently. Please be patient, I'm on my way to fixing that :) I made the game engine myself, so I'm costantly fixing those kind of compatibility disservices as soon as they pop-up, come back later and I'll make it work as it should.
Edit: it should be fixed now. But I can't be sure about it because I lack hardwares to test it :c
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
That was stellar. Didn't realised I spent 40 minutes trying to get every single coin (i ended up with 9.45, hopefully didn't miss any) and didn't get pissed once about level design.
5/5 very good, make speedrunning mode
Wow thank you! At the moment you can speedrun it by disabling the dialogues from the menu, your record gets sent as you enter the last door so that the final dialogue won't count for the statistics :)

mm. I'm on firefox. the game stops at the 'Loading...' screen and never actually loads. I'll wait fifteen minutes, thinking perhaps it's a slow load. also reloaded the page a few times. nothing seems to happen.
I use firefox too to test my game, and it works just as it should... perhaps your browser version is deprecated or you got some weird settings... I would be more than happy to help you if you could tell me what does the dev console say :)
Will do hahah, since no one found out I just left them instead of disabling them every time I upload a new version. When I'll be done with the game I'll wipe the scoreboard too :) EDIT: In the end I've kept the scoreboard and I've got your score wiped hahah

Pressing e makes you dance. I just accidentally found by weird reflex of always pressing e to use stuff. I dont know if its an easter egg or not hehe.

Also, completing the game with dialogue off appears to secretly re-enable it, and pizza guy's "X minutes" dialogue will visibly count up.
I decided to enable the dialogues on the last level so that if you wanted to go for the alternate ending you could do it with the dialogue disabled, so that the ghost won't constantly mock you again through the whole game :d Note that the time spent on the last level won't add up to the completion time in the scoreboard, which is sent as you enter the last door.

Pretty fun short game, but where's my Bonus Gratitude for getting all the coins? (just kidding, I'm an Evil Overlord)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hey Saantonandre, the game is frame-rate dependent; if you're on a 144Hz monitor, it plays super fast, movement, falling, everything.
HAHAHA would have loved to see that! Thanks, didn't know about this interaction with 144Hz monitors, will look into fixing it :) Edit: FIXED (most likely, I don't know for sure because I don't have a 144 monitor to test it on)

Difficult, but relatively short. Frustrating at times because the smallest mistake or delay sends you all the way back to the beginning of the level, which made the last two levels rather annoying...maybe a save-state or save points to return to? Rather glad that the 8.5c threshold doesn't require absolute precision to reach. The dash-into-wall glitch happened to me at one point as well in the last level, by the second mana... maybe double-dashing into the wall sometimes causes it?
I designed the maps to be very small so that if you die you don't have to redo much stuff, if I would implement checkpoints I should rework the game from the ground up...
About that wall glitch I'm about to fix it. Tomorrow.
I'm also working on additional levels, outside of the main story mode :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
great game, the only thing is that sometimes when the dialogue appears so suddenly when i'm in the middle of platforming I accidently click through a few lines before I can read them. Maybe a half second of being unable to click through dialogue if its in the middle of platforming?

Pretty fun, has challenging moments of timing, and I like the humor. What I appreciate most is the Devs dedication to answering everyone's feedback. Cheers!

Could use a level select with an indicator of which levels we've gotten all the coins in... and a record of out best time too.
I don't know if I'll make a level selector, as for now I've got other priorities for the game :( But I may add a statistic tab to show your best records, it shouldn't take much effort
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Very cool game. On the last level I even discovered an out of bound strategy by dashing into the wall and then climbing onto the roof that would be useful for speedruns.

The game stops after I press the new game button then press space after looking at the controls, it shows a text box with the characters head symbol next to it, but with no text. The cursor is still a sword and free to move, I just can't do anything. Don't know why, maybe it's a bug, but I won't rate your game unless I play it. Please fix!
Wow thanks for your patience! Are you playing on microsoft Edge by any chance? The game may not work on some of its versions. EDIT: Should be fixed now.

the game is pretty neat overall, the last level was a bit frustrating (i had the urge to collect all the coins for some reason) but it's nothing to complain about :P, 5/5 deserves getting a badge
Right now they are mandatory and affects the ending just by reaching the 8.50 threshold. I'll change a bit the positioning on the last level so that people won't get mad to get them all. Either that or I'll give players a reward to collect every single coin, thanks for the feedback :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
way to frustrating because of the awful level design and the atrocious controls. solid 2 out of 5, didnt enjoy my time with it.
That's bad that you didn't like it, I would have appreciated to know why did you felt like the controls were "atrocious". They are as responsive as possible. Your inputs get computed real time at 60 FPS, there are different keyboard configurations available or you can play with a controller. You also didn't explain why did you think the level design was awful.
I appreciate critiques, but this one is just toxic feedback.
I'm happy to see that someone wishes for extra challenges! come back within a week or somethin, I'm on my way on creating unlockable content to play outside of the main game mode.
Thanks for your feedback! That's unfortunate that people perceive it as difficult or frustrating, being a short game I personally wouldn't find the enjoyment by just playing it on autopilot...
I guess a compromise would be to lower down the difficulty to the ground, and maybe add an unlockable hardmode. I'm working on that.
That's the first time someone issues a problem on that level, I just uploaded a new version dumbing down the most difficult ones... next update I'll make some little tweaks to that level too then :)
Thanks for reporting, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really wish that final level had a checkpoint, because the combination of traps and coins makes it way too frustrating to repeat time and time again.
Thanks for the feedback, the last thing I'd want is to create a frustrating experience, I'd like my game to be as fair as possible. I'll look forward on making the last level a little easier :)
A little note: you'll get rewarded for just an average amount of coins in the end, don't focus too much on picking them all! the goal of the game is just completing it.

Great game! Cool pixel art, great humor/story, very smooth controls which are supported by the animations and well designed levels. 5/5 from me
