Found the game quite fun to speedrun after getting used to the controls. Wonder how many of the top scores are real. Don't think i can get anything better than 2 min 7 sec
That's an awesome time!! I think the legit records are only the ones around that, anything less than 2 mins -might- be possible only through glitches/bug abusing. As for now I've managed to fix just some of them

It's challenging for some tbh, but the controls are not at fault. IT could be that your PC is old or not updated, or that your reaction time simply isn't good enough. The upside however, is that there is a tempo to this, and you can adjust accordingly.
Thanks for pointing this out. Most of the times it's just about power saving options, or about the browsers, they all handle my game differently... I did my best to fix out the compatibility issues and at optimizing, but some browsers will just run the game loop on low priority for some reason. I'm at fault for not knowing everything, but the problem would be easier to solve if the affected players had something more helpful to say than just "1/5" and "terrible controls", like, info about browser/device :c

I swear the fairy is pushing me. When on solid ground, pressing W is a straight jump, but when riding platforms it has an arc for some reason. This whole game control so bad, the character feels awkward and heavy as hell.
It made sense to me to apply momentum to the character's movements only if it comes from external sources, other than that I wanted to give the players full power over it

Pros: Not an idle game or "pay-to-win" "multiplayer" game. Cons: Slow, unresponsive controls, arbitrary hitboxes, annoying game mechanics, and an obnoxious "companion" that, even if you turn off dialogue, still laughs at you for several seconds after you die or reset a level. 1/5

Good game, if a bit fiddly with the controls. Having a level select to see and pick up missed coins would be good, and wouldn't detract from the difficulty.

Controls are very clunky and inconsistent. Still an alright little platformer though. That last speeder section's coins are pretty awkwardly placed so it took many attempts to collect them all. 3/5

For having so few lines, its amazing how much character the overlord and the ghost have. I want a full length manga about them now.
Thanks, glad you liked them! It would be cool to make a webcomic out of it but I'm not that good at free drawing... I'm way more invested in pixel art x)

You know, I could forgive the terrible placement of coins on that final dash-jump section if I didn't have to do the god-awful bounce-teleport section 30+ time for a single attempt at it...
Thx for the feedback, I was thinking about changing the coins position. I've been busy with my life lately but I'll try to cut off some time to rework some little things in the next week

I'd re-kill this ghost girl, but then it'd just be me falling into spikes in complete silence and I don't need to be lonely while I'm busy being dead.

Sad thing I´m not skilled enough to perform the low jump. I always hit the top spikes, making this game unplayable and unenjoyable. I wish games that feature two different kinds of jumps would also offer the option to put them on different keys for clumsy people like me.
Sorry, it indeed requires a lot of precision, like a really fast tap/click while you're also focusing on landing correctly. But if it's of any comfort, due to a physics bug you can just walk straight to get past the columns in the first spikes level.
I'm sorry. Can you PM/shout me about which browser are you using? Latest versions of Edge, Firefox or Chrome should handle it fine, unless you got some ads or extensions interacting with the game's code

anyone else having troubles getting the Spectre at the Feast Badge? I got the Overlord's New... Armor? Badge and then did a second run, still dont have the first badge

This kind of pixel-level microsecond precision on the last level—when the entire game up to that point has been much more forgiving—is pretty unacceptable.

Last levels coins are being a pain, would rather repeat rest of game if I decide to get them than keep trying now. Also I believe one of the floaty conversations saved me (moving block room)

This was pretty good. But a suggestion for future projects, try not to allocate any memory during the core gameplay if you're doing a timing-critical game, just re-use pre-allocated things - on the last level I had multiple deaths to what I think was "garbage collector decided to run at this moment" stutter that made getting the keystroke timing right impossible at a critical moment. (Might not have been your fault though, like maybe rather than garbage collection it was Kongregate decided that was the perfect moment to update the banner ad or something like that.)
Thanks! You're probably right, wish I knew about that sooner. In fact most visual fxs are istances created on-the-go, instead of pre allocated objects. Fortunately there aren't too many of them, and except those, every other object is pre-allocated. Because of the way I've organized the game's code I would have to change big part of it to change the way visual fxs works, and -as for now- the game consists in almost 6000 lines of javascript(maps excluded) which makes it pretty hard to make little changes... I've already practiced on the matter and hopefully I won't fail again to save as much memory as possible for my next game

Hello! I've noticed a PRETTY major bug when it comes to getting a short time! If you go to the level right before you get your pizza you can cut your time instantly. All you have to do is get to the last level (Works with any level as well) go to main menu, hit new game, go back to main menu, then hit continue. This resets your time allowing you to get a really low time compared to playing the whole game.

why must you lock my jumps when i start a jump at a stand still. this is as bad as move vertical locking games by avgn <

Awesome concept, love the art.
Definitely think that both badges should be a medium (which they are now) especially since you can get both at the same time, just keep repeating the level if you miss a coin.

After getting the golden ending, I wanted to see what happened if you didn't get at least 8.50. You still get the pizza, and the tip is negative. Should be killed by the pizza guy and forced to restart!
oops.. sorry about the negative tip, it might be a bug, will look into it. Edit: fixed, if you don't have enough money, the pizza guy will not give you the pizza anymore

Very funny, refreshing concept, nice artwork, the controls and physics need a bit getting used to, but while some levels were pretty hard for me, eventually one gets the hang of it. I enjoyed playing it. Only thing I need to complain about is the lack of choice of controls (unless I missed that option). Dear developers, please think of people using other keyboards. If I have to use z and x, then I have to use my little finger for x, and that gives me way less control and some pain to boot.

Short but pretty good concept. I like the interaction between the characters and the little extras like the palette swap!
