Some other points to take in consideration for a bullet hell game. Most of them only have a small portion of the character that is vulnerable to attack, for this very reason. It is impossible to doge even a significant amount of damage let alone all of it with the gigantic hit box, also most of them incorporate a short duration after receiving damage where you can't be damaged again, and losing half your life for "clipping" the ground is pretty bad, having to dodge bullets AND obstacles makes this a frustrating experience.. The regenerating side weapon is pretty much useless. The explanations for what leveling does to either your character or your items is lacking a lot.
Thanks for giving me detailed feedback, we preferred to follow the side scrolling ways of r-type and Area88 which play on more variety of experiences than pure bullet hell, I know that bullet hell use 1 pixel hitboxes but Im not sure that would feel natural in our game. On your suggestion I will try a longer invincibility after taking damage (extending it from 1 second to 2), my main concern is when that gets exploited as you have high health and just kiss a boss to death.

Has the update been uploaded yet? Becuase the very first bullet on level 1 shouldn't take 25% of the health of a fully upgraded paul.
the update is still being tested bcos its a major content extension with 5 new maps as well as revamps to the characters and difficulty.
You shouldn't be getting 25% damage, unless you are playing gamer mode, or in a room with many players - the multiplayer scaling is slightly off on the current version but in the new version it has been changed. Basically in the update the game gets easier as more people join to help you, currently its wrong and seems to get a bit hard.
in the major update one of the things that have been balanced is the damage and difficulty, it has been made easier in co-op, but the hard and gamer mode is harder than currently.

Network code is least of a problem. Utter retarded gameplay is.
From unidentyfiable me, through awful screen size, not knowing what is harming obstacle, retasrded speedups, retarded LMB click movement (which doesn't work in some reverse progress maps) or keyboard.

SERIOUSLY, you are retarded but you have rich parents. So you've somehow managed to find someone able to program and pay them with your pocket money.
Now find someone with IQ>70 to design a gameplay.
Arkanoid was 1,000,000,000 times better game, running on C64 with 38911 bytes of free memory. That's 20,000 less memory than this utter sh!t takes.

Too many things going on, too easy to die, powerups rarely last longer than 2 seconds in a multi game. Great idea, love the coop, just not really polished.

I really loved the old game and I was really disappointed when people stopped playing it. It was one of the few flash games I never got sick of playing. I'm very happy to see a new game come out.

trying to improve the network code for some of the bosses teleporting. I know that the brain is the most problematic, could you guys tell me which other bosses or enemies are having bad teleporting problems (when their positions suddenly shift unpredictably)

Major latency issues with this game if you play with other, if your not teleporting into enemies they are teleporting into you. Worst part is there is no way to prevent other players from invading your run or create a solo run so its all luck of the draw. Good luck having successful runs with players from across the world or with slow connections, your in for a bumpy ride.

I like the game, but things I would try to fix... characters skip all around the map idk lag or whatnot but you have it where the landscape deals damage if you hit it. this kills me more than the enemy because i skip into ledges or ground ect. Idk if you can fix the skipping cause im not a developer but if you can i would do that as well
in what way? do you mean stages, gameplay, enemies or characters? for me I much prefer the new boss fights, co-op, pow ups and checkpoints.
we need more stages (which we are making right now), and a player and country ranking system.

There are cheaters unfortunately, people that never take damage basically....
kinda annoying, why would you cheat in such an easy ass game :P besides that, it's fun if its challenging, if you get too many levels and it gets EZ then it gets boring quickly...

Will there be another update to the netcode to improve online performance? Sometimes it is smooth enough to play with others, the rest of the time it is so laggy I cannot do anything.

Really don't like how moving with the mouse is extremely sensitive. I move my mouse an inch and the player has moved across half of the screen

Android doesn't have cloud saving yet to clarify, just iPhone - the web version isn't fully optimized yet we are fairly new to webGL it's a memory hog

Was a huge fan of the first one and can't wait till the developers make it more polished! After playing for an hour, it's clear that the game has a lot of potential but there's a lot of optimization that needs to be done. There's a lot of lag when compared to the first one, and it'd be nice to have a level select screen like the old toon shooter.
It should save your progress in the browser, but if you switch to another browser it doesn't carry over. If you use iPhone or Android you can have cloud saving.

Also would be nice to see:
- Level cap+1 and ship upgrades cap+1 for beating each difficulty. Won't ruin balance much, but a nice reward.

I was a huge fan of first part. Even have the crazy achievement there(for those in the know). So I decided to highlight about this version.
Pros:
- The revival system. Very cool change.
- Upgrades for ships. Very good idea.
- Linear levels and difficulties. It seems to work much better.
- Interfaces for joining levels are very comfortable.
Cons:
- Cannot bind a username. Would be nice to be recognisable.
- No chat. Very big drawback for harder games that need strategy.
- Most levels have much lesser screen size in comparison to part 1. This ruins much fun.
Things to work on:
- The fleet level is somehow negative, almost the same as in last one. This is the level when you enter it you think "Oh, not this one again, just have to pass it quickly". Not sure what has to be done with it maybe someone else will give ideas.
In general. This could be a very nice game but is very raw for now. Hope salty won't abandon it and make it even better than first one.
Thanks seeker for coming back, and for your take on this game. I kind of agree that there is something about the Fleet that I find boring, it might just be too easy or the pace, but I do think this version of Cyclonius is one of the best boss fights we've done. Personally I like to play from stage 6 through to stage 9. I will incorporate your suggestions into our overall vision for 5 new stages. Half of our players are from iPhone and Android so Im not sure if we can make a chat.

Theres gonna be a new version tomorrow, it runs much faster and smoother. We are still working on the memory issue. There will be a major update in a couple months with a new campaign (5 new stages)

If you have it available, I recommend using Chrome if you have it which is better at supporting webGL. We'll be looking into how to optimize the ram usage
