great game a lot like warlords call to arms but a lot better i mean the recovery is AWESOME and the fact that when someone gets through they come back that was the biggest problem in warlords but even on easy there is NONSTOP attack they dont stop coming its ridiculous and if yuo wait too long everyone becomes harder its mannoying noticing that allyria has 50 archers and by the way archers are the best unit in the beggining the SLAUGHTER youre men i mean i sent 2 militia against on archer they lost and also bugb report if you upgrade too fast the upgrade screen freezes FOREVER pretty much

I just would wish clicking would WORK. Perhaps an alternative way? (PS: clicking works on everything else, just not in battles.) I usually lose because i clickclickclick and nothing happens, then i look and they put 50 guys in the field, when I finally manage to put one.

Here's a way that I found how to make even the hardest difficulty the most easiest.
1. Keep yourself alive by holding down one of the three countries at all times. (Thrace, Illyria, Dacia). Improve western trade routes and war taxes passive abilities by ending turn until you have one country left. When one country is left, invade the one that has the general and the least amount of arms(usually ranges from infantry or archers). Then while doing this you may also improve your technology until your strong enough to dominate the entire board with one swipe. Doesn't take long either.

This game could be great if i was able to close the advisor, army, and technologie box so i can see thhe map. I wont rate it untill i find out how to do that but from what i can tell it should be great. Can you help guys? CHEERS!

I love the units but the balance lacks. I just started in emperor difficulty and in the third level the cavalry destroys very easy my spearman. How is that? If militia are better than cavalry I don't think that could be able to happen. Then I just decided to stop two or three turns, and I lost because Persia invaded my empire. How is that I don't receive any warnings besides if I expresely look in advices tab?. This game could be better with some improvement.

Good game although I'm no fan of the warlordish concept. Trying to kill all enemy armies instead of just spamming down one line to win brings a challenge on the zeus difficulty.

I finally finished it in 5 years in son of Zeus mode, conquiering one country each turn.

The game is very easy if you focus only on cavalry, the charge (+100%) makes them too powerfull.
I used almost only cavalry, except for cilicia and dacia, where i used javelins (and some cavalry)

for all you whiny idiots that do not know how to close the advisors menu, just click on the part up at hte top of hte screen that you clicked on to bring up the advisors tab. simple as that.

I wish the game would get harder as you go, once you've defeated persia there's no challenge anymore. Also hard mode isn't hard with the AI attacking and leaving nothing to defend the provinces.

awesome game, although i would like to know how to save, and if there isn't a save button then i would strongly suggest putting one in on the second game! 5/5 and faved!

everyone, here are a few tips. instead of going through all the persian countries, after you have Macedonia, Greece, Thrace, Illyria and Dacia, then while continuing to defend against and destroy the persian armies coming from Lydia or Phyrgia, slowly make your way to conquer Scythia, then Sarmatia, then Khwarazmia then stay there till you have really good upgrades, and then attack Parthia and Persia.(It is best to attack persia when the active field army is in Phyrgia or Lydia.)another thing. if the field army took one of your countries, then when it takes a second one it leaves about 6 tribal infantry defending it,(for those of you who do not know what tribal infantryr is, it is really weak, but use silver shield guard or hypaspist, because it has short spear)so it can be easily taken.

I would not say that you only need to defend. I was able to save a lot of troops (and money) by attacking heavily when facing a lot of archers or javelins. You need to keep as many of them off the screen as possible. I agree this game needs badges... Although I have beaten it on every level now so the fun part is done for me:(

i belive you did not conquer everything. you must conquer all the dark brown colored countries too. i took all the countries and my game ended.

It's actually somewhat esay. The cavalary is REALLY strong. So upgrade money making and then go straigth to the best cav and spearmen. Upgrade armor when u can.

horrible game, tried at King level (should be the easiest) and go defeated at 2 rounds.
You have to buy troops?! what a stupid thing! and it's really bad the way you have to deply troops.

sometimes is better to let them take some territory instead of waisting your army again and again as they advance is better to amass an army you know is powerful enough to destroy them as you already know who beated you.

@junkman53 yeah i have the same problem, just right click on game, click settings, drag slider as far left as possiable, click ok, refresh page, right click on game, click settings, drag slider right as far as you can... then play!

Thanks to everyone who posted comments on the battle crash bug. I still haven't figured out what's causing it, but I've made some changes that might have fixed it. Also, I nerfed cavalry charge to make them less dominant and hypaspists are now a bit more expensive.
