Believe it or not, the main character's name is Mallow because originally he was a marshmallow in a suit with a tophat. He got changed into a human pretty early on though.
Interesting point. We were able to get it in testing...but we did make the game so I guess that gives us an advantage. Keep an eye out for an update coming soon.
Yeah, they used to be more dynamic...relative to where you were on the planet...but nobody liked it so we went with static. It's tough with radial gravity games, the keyboard is not optimal.

The speed increase is barely notable, and the jump increase while useful, never allows you to reach the gold stars at all. You have to rely on the Jupiter Jump power-up to do anything meaningful with Gold Stars. Geysers are barely useful as well, due to how long it takes, and all of the ground stardrop upgrades are useless without the big stardrop upgrades to get double the points. I don't know what else to say on improvements, but please make the speed upgrade at least useful enough that it doesn't take two seconds to go half the circumference of the 'planet'. And don't falsely advertise the ability to collect gold stars off a standard jump either when you upgrade it.

Kid: Hey, I want to buy a bear for my sister. How much? Store: 2500 rubies. Kid: that's about $2.5 million bucks! Store: Hey, you can pay me in stars too. Kid: Can I pay you in gum?

You should be able to buy a second bear. You get in a fight because there were two of you and only one bear. Buying one new bear will just make you end up where you started.

Even with static controls it's really confusing. I'm almost never running the direction I expect. And each play is too short (even fully upgraded) for me to really get a handle on controlling properly. It ought to be more fun than it is.
We're sorry to hear you feel that way. We have some updates planned that might improve the game for you, keep an eye out for those. We probably won't make the rounds any longer though; there are some users who feel the pacing is a little slow as it is.

Since I am slightly afraid to jump, lest I freeze up, I started NOT jumping unless there was nothing else to collect or a power up. And I did much better that way, especially after I bought the right upgrades.
Interesting. There are a few different strategies you can use to approach it. I myself have found that focusing solely on silver stars can be quite lucrative as well.

The Bear is too expensive and I can't justify going through approximately 10 more rounds with full upgrades just to get it. I think it should be less much expensive.
Yeah we getcha. In our testing it only took us 3 or 4 rounds to save up enough, but even so we agree it could be a bit cheaper. Keep an eye out for an update soon.
Wow thanks! Much appreciated. Our composer also pointed out the similarities between this and "La Luna", the Dreamworks short that shows before "Brave". In fairness though, Stardrops was in development before we saw that, haha :)

Wow, the control scheme is just ungodly bad. Unimaginably bad. I spend half my time just trying to get to where I want to go without ending up running in the opposite direction because the direction switch up every time I switch hemispheres.
Thanks for the feedback! We have uploaded a new version without the dynamic controls. Now left is always clockwise and right counter clockwise. Let us know if you like that better.

I had the same bug as paapaa - I hit space twice very fast and the character was frozen until the level ended. firefox 8/win xp 32 bit/11.1.102.62 flash

Enjoyable game to play, although after you get all the upgrades it's a little boring playing several more rounds to buy the bear. Not sure about the controls, perhaps better to stick with clockwise for right and anticlockwise for left.

Controls are extremely confusing. Left and right should map to counter clockwise and clockwise. Up (and space) should be jump.
We just uploaded a new version with static controls. Left and right map to clockwise and counter clockwise respectively. Up for jump is a good idea, we'll add that to the next update. Thanks!
