Phew, got already bored on the second level, I just spammed spikes and darts and watched (feeled) half an hour how to invaders died and nothing happened gameplay wise.
Visuals are borgin even for a pixelart and the music is repentive and monoton.
No chance for any upvote on Steam Greenlight

So I found a bug/abuse with the demon portals: during the setup phase, you can buy a demon portal, summon a demon, then sell the demon portal back for 100%. This allows you to start any level with (nearly) infinite demons. I assume this is not intended, since it makes winning any level trivial.
Great game though, 4 stars!

Demon portals are buggy and make lvl 10 impossible to beat. Once the demon spawns on wrong side of portal and out of the lane, there is no way to move them and they won't move themselves.

I am palying on chrome and I only can place 2 kind of traps: spikes and darts, but I have 4 open slots and I saw a message saying that I have unlocked new kind of traps.. bug??, I even used hotkeys, but no luck.

I'm not even trying to be rude but that's the dumbest sheet I've ever seen. How do you expect people to beat a level with 500 gold to start?
Hi chezits89! You can see the boulders on that map. Click them to roll and kill all the enemies on the way. Then you'll get enough money for the trap.
Sorry for the lack of instructions. We'll add some tutorials about boulder.
Hope you play this game again :)

gara_uk needs to chill. I beat every level on the first try, with all but one with 3 diamonds. I really really doubt I'm so damn smart that I picked the one perfect way to play each of those. More likely the game is strategic and not forgiving of mistakes so you need to plan a bit more before you start slapping stuff down. One feature that would be really nice is a way to build while the game is paused so that people can stop and think every round or two. It's definitely true that the upgrades are way too weak, but, again, I beat all the levels on the first try so it seems like it would be way too easy if they were stronger. It would also help weaker players if there were more "spells" like the snare to help make up for your mistakes.

(3/3, and apologies for the exhaustive rant)
Does experience carry any kind of benefit, other than opening trap-slots? I persevered through to (player) level 9 before wondering why I was bothering any longer. Retro look and style? +1. Awful upgrades? -1. Replacing strategy with repetition? -1. Thinking that might lead to a Steam Greenlight in its submitted but allegedly 'alpha' form? -1. Much more playtesting on fundamentals before this goes anywhere, sadly, because the premise could have been great.
I wish there were more vocal people like you. I really appreciate what you've written here. As a game developer who gets to play his own game every day for obscene number of times, it is now almost impossible for me to view my game from a different perspective. And your comments just refreshed my perspective. For that, I am grateful. Expect much better levels in the future. Let me explain some of the questions you raised. 1. The mid-battle trap upgrades are not balanced yet and its stats are completely arbitrary. I deeply regret not removing some of the non-functional features like this before submitting the game here. It is our fault. 2. Levels gained throught experience grants you gems which you can spend on passive trap upgrades after pressing the undocumented hammer button on bottom left corner in the world map. Again, we've failed to add the relevant tutorial to inform players about this.

2) I like the learning from mistakes aspect; I like having a level that is immediately straightforward, and I also occasionally enjoy having my inner masochist taunted for not being quite so cerebrally limber any longer. However, a game should first and foremost be entertaining, and I am neither patient nor forgiving enough to slog my way through multiple replays of a level, only for my reward to be a moist and slightly lumpy fart of an upgrade that is not only overpriced, but also carries about the same impact on the gameplay as that very same moist and slightly lumpy fart.

1) I think this game is irrefutable proof that I am getting old, because I used to love this kind of thing. This is either a perfectly-honed example of a truly strategic game, or else just an infuriatingly-poorly balanced way to torment perfectionists (or at least, ex-perfectionists like me) with a marginally less exacting version of the infamous pixelhunt more frequent in Difference games, here applied to the trap-defender genre. Yes, there IS a way to beat every level; there is, in fact, close to only ONE way to beat every level, and turning something typically strategic into something that beats you over the head for not being quick enough with that Snare trap while contending with the annoyance of the screen deciding that it wants to move because of the cursor/screen positioning is not quite my idea of fun.

Trap upgrades seem to have pretty much no effect on your strategy, especially considering their cost goes up rapidly. Clearing 6 levels perfectly translates to -5% cd or +5% damage on a single trap.
What you said is true, and we're working on it. We plan to increase the gem reward per level and increase frequency of levelups. Thanks for your feedback.

I turn off all sounds on games most of the time. there seams to be no sound switch on this game makes it unplayable really.

As you gain levels, your starting gold should grow. Each stage should allow you to replay for more exp as many times as you repeat even if you get full exp. UPGRADES NEEDS a RESET button - practically every good tower defense does it, for good reason.

Thanks for the update!
I can't say I'm happy about needing help to beat this game but the game is now much more enjoyable!

Six boulders is not enough for the boulder cavern because enemies keep coming in greater numbers, traps cost too much, and boulders don't regenerate.

Support us? Sure, or okay? how about an option that doesn't forward the frame to another page and away from the game?

please make the consumable turn red or something when ready. it can look fully charged yet say ´not ready´. gameplay can be really hard. the balance on some levels is so that you can only complete it in one way. i like options... the pathe the creeps take could me clearer also. upgrade screen is a bit poor. the upgrades are tight also.
i do like the differnt approach to the very saturated TD game. good job there. all in all could be a very good game if balance tweaked and some cosmetic changes. 3/5

This game is rather fun but I agree with the others and that the boulder cave is a bit too difficult. I am stuck on this level which is stopping me from enjoying the rest of the game. Perhaps a bit more starting money or a few of the push traps already built would help please. Thank you for your time.

I can't figure out the tunnel level. You shouldn't put such a difficult level in after three very easy levels. It's incredibly frustrating and a shame because the game isn't bad and I would like to play it some more.
Sorry about it. The difficulty will be adjusted in the next release.
In the meantime, check out Negark's perfect clear guide video.

i asume you need the clap thing for the cavern.. but how the hell can i use it? change the shortcut key.......... i wont rate the game until something is done. for me to get soemthing like ' i need to hold shift+something else on the keyboard and your asking for `i think, i have no idea how to get that without looking at charmap in windows!
The hotkey for Snare is tilde (`~) which is next to 1 key and on top of tab key. If that doesn't work out for you, you can always click on the trap icon to build it. In addition to using the snare (clap thing), you'll need to use the six boulders placed on the cavern. It's better to wait as long as the first door can hold until you fire the first boulder to take out the entire first wave. Then use the gold you earned to put dart traps on the corners to maximize their firing zone.

I finally beat the tunnel level!
I already had all the avaible traps but it was still quite hard!
Especially the thiefs were a problem cause they were to fast for the spike traps.
But it somehow workedout in the end. :3

Level4 is really hard! Especially cause you haveonly enough money for 2 traps at the beginning.
But I'll never give up!
I will find a way to beat it!
PS: The Push button don't always work. They are quite slow and they only hit an enemy in 2 of 5 cases. Their mechanism is not reliable yet.

You could have mentioned that the mp is bigger than the screen and that you scroll around with wasd.
A few enemies entered the screen from the second entrance and it took me a while to figure out where they came from!
