I had the biggest laugh when I got so frustrated trying to shake loose the item from the vending machine that I decided to try using the crowbar instead. Unbelievable that it worked. I don't think that was the main solution in the walkthrough either. It sort of wants me to go back and see if you did a check for all the other inventory items.
For some puzzles I absolutely did do checks for other inventory items, although the vending machine puzzle is the only one that actually provides two solutions. To be honest, that whole thing was a happy accident, but I'm SUPER glad I did it. It's something I want to pursue more in the next game.

hey solar vagrant, I was wondering if you could help me with the big robot scene. My problem is that I can't figure out how to pour the water on him. Many thanks!
You don't actually need to pour water on someone to resolve that part of the game. Try going for a different solution. There's also a walkthrough here if you need additional help: http://solarvagrant.tumblr.com/post/153933620578/door-2-walkthrough

While this game is certainly grander in scope and definitely an upgrade in most regards, I prefer the original. Despite the memorable characters here, I enjoyed the isolation (and the humor that came with it) of the first title. Still an enjoyable game.
The keys are configurable! I've had a bunch of people mention that exact issue, so if you go under 'Options' on the main menu, there a way to change the key bindings.

"Oh that artifact of forbidden power was the reason why the bad dude could be so bad. But don't worry, it's in good hands now. Mine. MWAHA. MWAHAHAHA. MWAHAHAHAHAAHAHA." Oh wait, he didn't do the evil laugh. I was totally expecting it at that point.

(1) the post credit cutscene, is the figure the bar human or one of the bots or something else? I'm not surprise if other beings can go through the backdoor. (2) is the telephone being using protagonist (whom i forget his name?) to help retrieve things from other worlds like the thing just now?
I can't really answer these questions without saying spoilers. I'll tell you this though, the first question will definitely be answered in the next game. Also I've never officially named the protagonist, haha. On tumblr I've just been referring to him as 'that guy'.

So,I will go straight on this one - after backdoor 1 I was really curious,it's quite a surrealist game we have here,I thought that the bot part was kind of overrated, like,so random. But,after completing my journey,I can fully understand the multiplicity of the worlds that I may find, and my part in the background plan of the world - I also simply love the telephone and his misteryous ways.5 stars!
Thanks! That's basically what I'm trying to go for. It's a bit tricky, haha- you try to deviate between the worlds that the player encounters, but at the same time you're trying to still preserve the elements that make the games good.

Wish the game auto-saved after various important scenes, my browser crashed a fair way into the game since I had last saved and I lost a significant amount of progress. Honestly made me consider just giving up as to not have to redo all of it even if I knew how everything worked this time. Longer games like these don't always have players thing to open the menu to save often, so auto saves and/or save points make a big difference in keeping the save file up to date.
Oh, uh, I never did make one. It was something that slipped my mind since you're never meant to actually go through that door. Re: breaking down doors- robots make sturdy doors.

This game has a thing for lamps... huh. Door 1 you had to escape your house by fixing the lamp. Door 2 There was a puzzle made of lamps. Huh... I wonder what happened to the house on the moon. Did some scientists find it? Or was it a fake moon... OR IT WAS A DIFFERENT WORLD!

I thought the start screen was just my computer being slow until I realised the gears are turning in a step-by-step motion...

why do I feel like i'm some patsy for some evil robot mastermind? XD I love the game and the music and trying to figure out why the meat bag is monochrome, love the characters and humor. Kinda wish you guys did lil teaser animations on youtube too about the lore and the world and some mini adventures while we idle away waiting for part 3 :).

I wanted to search for a walkthough to the game, as I was having some trouble to progess. However I quickly realized how much of a bad idea it would be to search for the game name.
Ugh, yeah, sometimes I regret picking BackDoor for the series name. =,= In any case, there's a walkthrough for the game here: http://solarvagrant.tumblr.com/post/153933620578/door-2-walkthrough

finished the game about a month ago, saw they added a badge, but I'm to lazy to play through again for the one badge... lol
Nah, you don't need to play through the entire game again. If you still have your save data, you just need to revisit the credits to get the achievement.

Psychological exam:
Shook vending machine till it dropped: Repeating and expecting different results=insanity
Bashed it with a crowbar: Violent thug
Coin in vending machine: Financially irresponsible

I got the yellow Easter Egg from giving the "robot" in the Bar the bucket of water. BUT WHAT DOES IT DO?!
Do I get it in Door 3?

LOL! Someone from a few comments ago said you could threaten all NPCs with water! I tried and their replies/comments about the bucket of water are hilarious!

I started over to see if I don't do anything while falling, I'd really die. 2 minutes in and still no result. Guess it was all talk.

One nuisance that could be fixed: the screwdriver can't be picked up from above, only below. I wasted a bunch of time wandering around in frustration because I couldn't pick it up from above and so thought it wasn't grabable

So in the Easter Egg...
The cake was also refered in "The Call" part which might be a reference to Portals' "Cake is a lie"
Kinda realize "Looking Good" on Mirrors is a Mother/Earthbound Reference
End game confuses me so much should have locked out the doors that doesn't need to be re-explored... anyways great game!
Confession- the cake is just there because I really like cake and I wanted to reward people for finding the Easter Egg. The "Looking Good" bit wasn't meant to be a reference as well... although the similarity is so striking it wouldn't surprise me if I subconsciously set that up.

A minor suggestion - if you use a direction key to walk away from something, it should cancel the dialogue. Saves pressing Z a bunch of times to read the same text again.
