Can anybody help me with dark zoul? I'm stuck at the part after you defeat him once and he starts throwing fireballs!

While it's not a bad game, it's significantly dumbed down from the first. Segmenting the levels makes the game incredibly easy by comparison; death has little consequence. The first game was entirely skill based, and there was no reason to add upgrades into the game to make it easier. Maidens now give you incredibly powerful buffs like invincibility, even from pits. Last but not least, parachutes and double jumps are no longer limited resources, significantly reducing skill in decision-making and execution. The first one was a really difficult game, and it was a lot of fun getting better and better to get further and further until you won. This one has barely any challenge in comparison, and while it's still some fun to play, it couldn't hold my interest until the end. 3/5
That's too bad, we figured that hardcore player who enjoyed RS1 would quickly beat the adventure mode and get to the core of the game : Survival, Arena, Endless challenges.

I am sort of torn with this game. I think it is GREAT and have been eagerly awaiting its release however it does seem to be a little pandering. Although it is much more convenient to skip the first levels I felt like part of what Rouge Soul was intrinsically was the frustrating of having to do perfect runs and being forced to start from scratch.
Double jumping without wings and gliding without collecting parachutes is also NICE but it doesn't have the same sense of urgency the last game had when one appeared.
Same with Double jumps. In RS1 I would collect 20-30 wings and never spend them until the later levels. I like games I can be PROUD of winning. Its more than just a time commitment.
That being said - This game does play great and I have yet to finish it.
Main point though: Thank you. These games are wonderful and aren't money grubbing. You have provided a service to the community.
Thanks a lot for the advanced feedback. Although I value your point, I encourage you to advance deeper in the game, try Survival, Arena and Endless challenges, I'm confident you might feel the epic thrill of Rogue Soul 1.

Still don't like how slowly one moves backwards when maneuvering around the field is one of the most important aspects of a game like this. Still, it's badass and I feel badass when I'm playing it. That's really all I can ask for from a game like this. Just wish the challenge levels weren't so irritating. That last star in the endless collection taunts me so!

the endless hunter challenge is white on the level select. either cant see title or just too bright, but i can barely see the one star i have in it. great game though!

I'm not sure if anyone has had this problem, but.. At least for me, I've had quite literally a good 20+ deaths because of the controls. The latest was trying to jump, then double jump over an incoming fireball, but the game just deciding to glide into it and kill me. I've also fell through the floor during the Endless run for killing enemies. I LOVED the first game. Very solid controls, perfect, and the only deaths I ever got were quite clearly my fault, not the game's. But I've had very, VERY cheap deaths because of the controls just deciding to act on their own. I try to stomp? End up gliding instead, THEN stomping, except of course at the wrong time, so I fall down a pit and die. I very much enjoy the game, don't get me wrong. But these flaws are a gigantic turn off.
Thanks for the detailed review. If I understand correctly, your main concern is about auto-parachute? I'll try to see if can add an option to configure that.

A pretty good game. But we shouldn't have to fight the boss every time we play one of the levels ending in a boss. It makes going back to redo challenges and free people a huge pain, to the point where I've decided it's not worth it. 4/5.
Sorry to hear that. As nothing forces you to get all objectives on a level, you can still go on your adventure and come back later, better trained (That's what I did...)

I love this game and loved the first, but i'm having trouble figuring out how to reduce lag. i'm using chrome and windows eight, on a laptop. I tried lowering the quality and having nothing else open but a three-d game. Help?
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with lag. The game is actually quite resource consuming and I don't how it runs on Windows 8 :/ You might want to try with different browser but I'm afraid it mainly relies on your laptop power.

Nothing is quite as enjoyable as jumping up stacks of barrels from some stacking competition only to throw a rubber duck into the heart of your enemy and watch them fall from the power. The only problem I have with this game is that it took away most of my day and had me enveloped for a good 3-4 hours

The game is even better than what I expected, the customisation panel is great and some enemies now avoid dashed attacks, which is great. One thing I miss though is the room where we could see every unlocked trophies and achievements.

Sweet, way smoother than the first, the action between jumping, double jumping and gliding while stomping, etc…. feels like a lot more control of character. Excellent Round 2 - Thanks!

YES contomisable controls! 5/5 instantly, without even playing. its so annoying if when you have a different keyboard layout and have a key on the other edge of the keyboard.

If you have a game that demands perfect runs, and you don't make R a hotkey to restart, you are a domestic terrorist, my friend.

Great game, thank you, SoulGame!
For now challenges seem to be too easy, please make the next part! I'd even buy premium stuff if it does not affect gameplay.
Thanks a lot. We try to keep everything free for now, but maybe someday we'll add some crazy skins or stuff to buy, for awesome supportive players like you :)

I loved it so much, I just really hated that when my armor gets taken off and i become invinsible for a few seconds, i can't hit anything. It really makes it harder to complete hunting challenges...

Bug report: if you press escape, go to the options menu and then press escape again, the screen is still blacked out but the game continues, making it kind of hard :)

I must admit to having mixed feelings. I love a lot of details, like the combo display, the improved parachutes, the air stomp, the new enemies and the new moves, I am indifferent to some things like the upgrade system and I am somewhat disappointed that you gave up the rogue like nature which I always thought you seemed so proud of just like me. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game and I am hooked. I guess I just loved Rogue soul to bits so bad, it takes some getting used to after a masterpiece like that.

Solid game,
Just a thought, on the WASD directional controls with J/K. The images for throw and slide are inverse to the layout of the J and K keys.

Can we get a Restart when, we complete a mission with the Continue?
So if we got say 1 - 3 star's we can go back to if without having to click on continue and say mission 1 or 2 or whatever!

Glad to see this finally released, it expands upon the core gameplay introduced in the first game extremely well. How a sequel should be done. Not to mention the sheer amount of content there is, soooo much to do in this game. 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i'd have given this a 5/5 simply for adding the buster sword as possible weapon, but even without that this is a definite masterpiece

I know this is a really minor thing, but could you make it so that one can "deactivate" upgrades. Some of us like to do challenge runs with only the very starting powers, no upgrades.
