First time after finishing the game, I am going through and through. Trying to get rubies, overcome thechallenges. This game is immense, thank you! Can't wait to see a sequel!

What a challenging game! I cannot get enough. The challenges keep me coming back even after I beat the story. Did anyone else find, however, that some characters were far more useful than others?
Also, did anyone else find that Mission 11 was much harder than Mission 12?

5/5 I finished it. Whew. It was intense, challenging, and totally addicting. I don't even think I'll attempt the Impossible badge. That one's going to be brutal. I tried the first challenge and thought I had it down, but took one turn too long, with the tech running straight for the end zone right from the start. Not sure how to get there for a gold badge without the doc's speed up nanos. Amazingly good game. I love the combat, and the ability to do the missions over again using different strategies. That last mission was seriously great in terms of needing solid tactical placement of your men. Can't wait for the sequel!

Um, a soldier died and dropped "0 magazines" and then I picked it up and the soldier that picked it up had an extra mag.

Shoespeak in an update made to flash several months ago if you clear your cookies/cache (depends on your browser) it'll delete your game saves.

There's a glitch, at Round: 23 DMG: 894 killed: 4, in round 11C I couldn't select my characters LT and Taylor. Had to end the turn and die...

I have tried to play this game like ten times. I've loved it every time except that it NEVER saves my game between clearing the cache and cookies! What is that about? C'mon, I was doing so well...is that really the reason? I thought that stuff didn't happen with flash games? Please please read this comment, I really want to invest tons of time into this game!!
Hello, sorry that you keep losing your saves. This game uses SharedObjects to save data like many other flash games. I just tried the game on Firefox and cleared the cache, my saves are still there. Maybe check that flash is allowed to save data on your computer (right click the game / settings / local storage : is the value high enough ? I have 10 Mo)

Love this game and i especially like progression that you get when discovering the characters and what their specialities are. for the sequel though, dont increase the squad size, as i was finding myself spending a lot of time carrying out everyone's actions, and make it easier to level up as it is a grind to level up all the skills.

Challenge for level 7 gave me some trouble. Combat was no problem, I could just never get Becker to all 5 files and out the elevator in 15 turns. I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out the optimal path for him. Throw in an acid patch or two and I was pulling my hair out.
One thing I'd like to see is making it easier to differentiate between the tiles when they aren't in your movement range. Maybe an option to give them a slight border, easier to see the grid? Would have helped with all the movement space counting I had to do.

If your soldier is out of ammo at the end of the turn he should stop being alert so he won't loose 2 MP at the beginning of the next one. He won't shoot anything anyway in enemy turn without primary ammo.

@psienix it's confusing, but missions 2-12 only give ruby and diamond medals on hard mode, which is unlocked after you went through all 12 missions on normal
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I don't get it. I beat mission two in five turns without taking any damage or leaving anyone behind, but it won't give me the ruby medal.

This reminds me of playing the x-com games, except the game mechanics rely less on you being lucky and more on strategy and planning. I like the use of the hexagonal board, and that much of the useful equipment is available from the start but you can upgrade it. I also like the action point/movement point system, I experimented with something like this (my results weren't as good). Overall 5/5.

@hektikbeatz 1. You're the one controlling that 'stupid guy'. Try not to make him run in front of aliens for no reason. 2. An undo option would strip any challenge from this game, and if your strategy works you won't need to undo anything. 3. When you finish/fail a level there's a button that says 'Stuck? Watch a walkthrough!' ... I suggest you click it.

Unusually easy for an impossible badge. Never took more than 3 attempts (mission 9), most diamonds/challenges were first try.

mission 11 felt more like the "final mission". It tested my chess logic to the maximum, and even then I got the gold medal just by the skin of my teeth. Mission 12 was pretty epic, but short.

The lift on C1 is too effing small and once anybody got to the upper floor he gets swarmed to death with or without alert, so I think maybe reduce the alien numbers a bit?

@Fubarman: You can close the vents:) Techie ( Pierce) have magnetic bombs, and without upgrades he have 1, with 2 blast radius, 2 turns, but upgraded he have 2 Bombs, 3 Radius,3 Turns effect. This Magnetic Bombs seals that area, no enemy / marine can move in or out from those hexagons.

I like this game a lot, but there needs to be some way to close vents at least temporarily. And the goo really sucks, these tiny hallways become impossible to move through. If they maybe did mp or ap damage it wouldn't be so damn annoying. Otherwise I dig the different characters and using all the different abilities is really fun. Flamer FTW.

This game reminds me of another one I used to play in my Amstrad CPC 464, "Breach 2" I it was called, and it is quite similar.

it may be too easy if there was a "undo move" button, but it would save my hair from being pulled out cause I accidentally clicked on a acid puddle or otherwise missed the path right as I was about to end the mission perfectly.

While the game is cool, the way the challenges are set up is irritating. So much of the game is building up your characters and making them cooler. But to complete a challenge, you have *give up* all of that coolness by limiting the points you spend.
Plus, because you have to unlock the hard mode, you have to effectively play through the game three times just to complete it. Why shouldn't I have the chance of bumping things up to hard right from the beginning if I'm good at the game?
