Under rating threshold (show) Nothingmattered, the badge is actually not difficult to get because it is right near the start of the game. But if only playing for the badge, one doesn't really get a chance to know this great game. As for flaws, there really aren't much, and none in time for the badge. Your problem likely is that there aren't any instructions listed anymore, and you simply weren't able to figure out how to play. This is my favorite game and I have played it tons. So if you, or anyone, has any questions regarding how to play, you are welcome to pm me. I would also be happy to help walk anyone through, so that they can get started, if we can arrange a time where this can be accomplished.

Under rating threshold (show) Joshua, you must be deleting your cookies for the game. This happens to me if I delete my cookies. Now I use CCleaner instead of Windows' Disk Cleanup. After I found where my games' cookies are stored, I simply went to CCleaner's Options, Exclude, then clicked Add, to exclude that area. However, that does mean that unless I were to sometimes remove the exclusion to clean those cookies (then later put it back on again), that I need to individually go through and delete cookies that I do not want from that area. (This is what I choose to do as I normally have multiple games at a time with saves on them). Deleting cookies is the only reason I have ever lost saves for this game, so I anticipate that this information will help you. Hopefully you can now enjoy this game again. :)

Under rating threshold (show) Quackadoodle, to be able to use ammo in this game, you need to first make sure it is on your person. There are two ways to accomplish this. If you already have the weapon on your person, you can click Caravan, and on the Main page, click Distribute Ammo. If not, you will need to click Caravan and on the 2nd page (People), after clicking on the desired person (and giving [him] a weapon), click on ammo, then click Give, and choose how much you would like to give, then click this Give. And voila, you now have ammo. I hope you enjoy the game. :)

Under rating threshold (show) Thanks Tuo for the idea. I tried your version (to the point where I'm ready to leave the three towns). Minus that I would ordinarily shoot the bandits a couple times first, the rest of the battle was how I normally play it (because I saved ammo and liked walking my character anyways), so it wasn't a whole lot different than my standard. It did take a bit of coaxing starting right out of the first town to attack enough bandits to get a healthy supply of money, but once I did that, it was easy sailing. In fact, besides that start, with just taking my normal two turns around, I easily have the amount of money that I ordinarily would. I just don't know that I would prefer to never have a storyline. I usually avoid visiting the guy in Drushlak until I am ready to complete the entire game, but this may be tooooo long a delay.... lol. So odds are, that even if I start Caravaneer like this again, that I will eventually start the storyline.

+ - !

(2)

J617

May. 15, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) So you don't play the storyline at all.ā€¦ I had never thought of avoiding doing such. Though one of my favorite parts is making lots of money, so when reading your comment, I initially thought, why not take the money.... But indeed, sometimes I'll try harder things similar to that ilk. The last ones I can remember accomplishing was playing Enchanted Cave without using any Wings and also not using experienced players on Rebuild 2's Impossible mode. Of course, all the TD games I have played, I have never allowed anything through, or I would immediately start over. So maybe I'll try skipping the storyline on Caravaneer one day, as that sounds interesting. (But I will not recommend that for a novice player, lol.) [Incidentally, just because you play a game harder than necessary, doesn't make you crazy ā€¦ and you are certainly not alone. :)]

Under rating threshold (show) Well I realized that Health is the most important as you can't raise during gamplay so that's 10 to start. Intelligence doesn't matter at all so I set that to 1. Then I have to decide between accuracy and Agility and I always choose the latter because one if your AP raises at a steady rate so if you start lower it's more difficult to get to higher. I also noticed that pistols, swords and fists raise your accuracy faster than other weapons so i use those for the most part especially when training new characters.

J617

Apr. 26, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) Wow, that is lower accuracy than I have ever tried. Since I leave those towns after only two trips around, 5 is the lowest I've done, and that is definitely harder than 6 when I start my trip out of that area. Kudos. I may have to try using 4 one day, but I just can't imagine it being my preference. You obviously learned which skills ones are the most important to start with (most people seem to start with high accuracy instead). In answer to your question, sorry, I have personally never kept track of my maximum AP, but I am sure that the average person finishes this game with a far lower score. Odds are though, that if your wealth high score is no where near the top, that those with much higher wealth had a higher AP. But it is quite obvious that you are another who likes to play a good game, build your strength, and are in no rush to end the fun. Nice to meet you. :)

Under rating threshold (show) I don't recommend using the cart where you can get pinned down, and get attacked by two at a time, until you can kill each of them. Imagine having multiple groups of bandits attack you like that before you can get healed.... I prefer to not get hurt at all. Against those early guys it is much better to attack, then back-step to a safe distance of at least eight steps away from them. I try to do it in a large square formation, so that I am always safe. My having high AP, this back-stepping works wonderfully, with no danger of getting hurt. Meanwhile, all that walking increases my AP, which helps all the more, so that I am better prepared when I go to fight harder opponents. As for the water situation, simply buy a Water Jerry Can. That will get you around each of the three towns individually, easily, (assuming you are using either a donkey, a mule, or perhaps no animal, which are the only options I believe that you can afford at the start).

Apr. 26, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) SilverSpeedy, groups of 2-3 bandits are very easily handled. You just have to keep kiting them around with a gun or use your cart as a chokepoint (4v1 means nothing if only two can attack me for 3 pts of damage each.). My annoyance is the fact that the store doesn't sell enough water containers to make it to the next town... Hence grinding by killing bandits...

Apr. 26, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) I am not sure if you're asking either what people start with, or people end with. But those of us who are in no rush to end a game, and like to get strong, can make those numbers huge. So it is probably more important what we start with. Since Strength (Carrying) is by far the hardest to increase, I start with that number being the highest (but the more Agility (AP), the easier it is to battle, and moreover this makes it easier to improve Accuracy (Sniper)). So my character start numbers are either: 10 8 6 1, or 10 9 5 1, depending if I mind starting with only a 5 on Accuracy. For a new player, however, I recommend starting with 9 8 7 1, or perhaps if they are a strong strategy player, and can understand the concept of back-stepping to a safer distance while in battle, the 10 8 6 1. Alternatively, very poor strategy players might have the need to start with 8 8 8 1. (Of course, if they are just here for that quick badge, they can simply max their Agility and Accuracy instead.)

Under rating threshold (show) Actually, Silverspeedy, this is one of best games out there. You just didn't understand how it is to be played. I know that there can be a learning curve, but that is the most extreme case I've heard. Likely that is because the regular Tutorial is no longer working. :( I travel at the start by myself, fighting those early bandits with no problems at all. (One clue, don't be afraid to run away to a safer distance while in the middle of battle, (having ample Agility helps with this).) Maybe, now having a tad experience, you could try it again? (Read the Sheriff's advice, but instead of clothes, buy Medicine in Drushlak. In addition, if you buy a cart, make sure to connect it to your animal.) If you could have arrived at town and sold your wares and what you won from all those bandits, you would likely have nearly earned your badge. Your difficulty seems to be in not knowing how to travel the correct way. I will explain how to use the map to travel in the following paragraph.

+ - !

(6)

J617

Apr. 25, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) When ready to travel, click Map. Then press your mouse on the Poca Cosa dot, and while holding down, move it until it hovers over Caganel. There will be a red line to show the direction (and if you don't keep track of how long it takes to journey, it also registers distances, to help give you have some idea of the quantity of resources you will need). Keep in mind, that because many towns do not line up perfectly, regarding traveling by a full degree number, and since you will not want to pass by the town, you may want to click on the town you are journeying to when it finally comes into view (or anywhere which would make a direct line to the town). To give you a starting idea, if you buy a Mule (5 mph), it will take 1 1/2 days for this first travel. A donkey will take longer. You can not ride animals, they are solely pack animals. Absolutely have enough water and forage for your journey. If anyone has any questions regarding this game, feel free to PM me.

Apr. 23, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) This game to me is poorly made, keep getting over ran from bandits in the begin. 5+ encounters gets stupid and not be able to flee. groups from 2-4 bandits. 3 groups at once is total stupid. On the map you need something to show where you are at. I got lost, ended up at the bottom of the map with endless groups of bandits came after me. At least in Fallout games you can run away and pick what fights you want to do.

Under rating threshold (show) @Urdonar: Actually, your horses are carrying all your crap. You aren't riding them. The only time you'll be going faster than that is when you get gas-powered vehicles.

Under rating threshold (show) I love the concept, but I'm really turned off after finding that spending all of my money on a horse still does not allow me to outrun the goddamned ninjas. Fighting is a chore this early on, and it's not as if the little dorks seem to actually have any money on them or anything. Not here, at any rate. I came here to do business, not fight ninjas. Ninjas that run faster than horses.

Under rating threshold (show) Oscaleb, you either starved to death, died of dehydration, or died of wounds. Starving and dehydration are pretty self-explanatory, wounds means your health went low enough to be considered "gravely wounded". If you're gravely wounded, you need to get some medicine, or see a doctor. Otherwise, your health will slowly decrease until you just drop dead.
