i closed the game came back later and my characters were auto progressing slower..... most notably everything past lizardman
It's not that, we currently have a bug that causes all units to have their initial loot time "reset" to the original one, until they complete one full progression.

unclear on how souls are achieved. Is it like in other idles where you get them gradually as game progresses or do you get 1 every time you reset .

Ok, either I'm playing this game wrong, or somewhere around the 200-300 minions point, the pricing gets WAY out of control. I leave the game playing, and only have 40 trillion, but everything costs WAY more than what I have vs. what I make in gold. And the cost of the artifacts to swap is really high, forcing you to reset frequently just to try to make more.
Hi! I've been designing the game around "soft caps", the idea is that every time I do a content update (not a bug fix update), progression goes back to smooth, because I introduce a new feature to help you along. Next content update will be tomorrow :) (I don't like when idle games get designed the other way around, when devs push a lot of updates and then they move the goalposts, I think it is better to have the goalposts very well defined from the beginning)
Hi! I hid it from players that could not earn at least one soul at the moment, to ease newer players into the game, without showing them too much stuff to handle at the same time.

Ardagan, you actually only earned 8 more souls. If you spend one and check your newgame+ without having made a single dollar, you'll see that you have one soul coming to you from reset.

I don't understand how midas glove is an advantage if it takes so much longer to farm the 100x's gold? Doesn't that just cancel the advantage?
It's a trade-off, depending on how much units you have, midas glove may be better than hero killer. (I'm working on an update that will allow players to have more than one artifact equipped)

wow, buying 2 different equipment in the soul shop requires the loss of the first item you bought. like wtf done with this game.
You are not the only one, within the last update I pushed a graphical update that should help people with videocards that handle non-square textures poorly. (sprite atlas is square in a power of two size). Performance is a constant struggle.

Used 1 soul, had 0. Started NewGame+ that should've given +9 souls. Result = 9 sould. Meaning: used souls were not recovered.
It's a function of the amount of gold you have earned. try using them all, and reset without earning more gold, you'll get the 9 souls back (I'll remove the plus symbol, it's confusing)
Have you rehired your bosses? (you get souls when you get a certain amount of gold. It considers the amount of gold you have ever earned, so there is no problem if you reset early, that gold does count towards the souls you'll get)

I seem to be having display issues, I don't see any of the buttons or.. anything at all really, other than current money and a gauge of some kind, I CAN play, sorta, but.. not really.
Try reloading, when I push new graphics their position on the sprite atlas changes, and your browser may have cached a previous version of the atlas. Reloading should fix it (I use cache busting based on game version).

Why put all of that effort into a game, and not create a tutorial? I have no idea what I am doing or what the objective of the game is. That really effects your games rating.
I would need to know the complete game flow from the start in order to make a tutorial first. Since the game is in development, I don't know the complete game flow yet. (I push features and adjust them based on community feedback). The basic objective of the game is to accumulate metric tons of "stuff". I do have plans for an endgame tho ;) (there will be a tutorial once the game is feature complete)

aaaaaaaaaaand i'm spaming you again... it would be nice if you added more things to the library. based on the position of "money" button, i think, you already made plans for this. in ti you could provide info on bosses and minions, their cost and such... as well as info on souls and how they are earned

and by the way, i must say, you did a realy great job making this game. i know wery little about programing, and i know my word doesn't hold much weight, but i have been known to (shame on me) use CheatEngine on, well almoust every idle game i played, and this is one of i think 3 games i just couldn't "crack" no matter what i tried... so, congradulations, you made an excelent game, that just makes me want to play it 'till i get at least 10^55 gold, just love the way that golden crown looks :D
I think most developers don't even try to make their games "hack resilient" ("hack proof" is actually impossible), since I do play idle games since the first time I saw "candy box" I know most of the tools and the most usual methods, so I proofed against those :)

it would be nice if, once GPS gets high enaugh, upon rese (new game+) you could "Buy" a soul for every, lets say nonillion, make it optional, but once this function has been used, next time the minimal amount for it is x10 the previous... and if that would be the case, you could make the starting amount at 1 quadrillion per soul for the first reset+purchase. i mean 1 quadrilion is still realy hard to get
We are gonna rebalance souls so that won't be necessary ;) (I'm waiting on my partner that is plotting curves and graphics about the effects of those, but I already have the "hooks" in place)
We are working on new features to make it more and more engaging ;) (we want to get the baseline progression right first, and fix a lot of bugs and usability issues first tho)

I don't think the soul system is working... I have at least a hundred of each minion up to the wizards(74) and demons(51) and I have yet to get a single soul. The game also isn't very clear on how you get souls in the first place.
The updated GUI will show the amount of money needed until the next soul ;) (we are gonna do a rebalance of that too, so we will push those two updates togheter)
I'm sorry we made you feel this is a ripoff. I do actually like AdCap quite a lot (it's right there next Candy Box for me), and we did take a lot of elements from there, but we are aiming to improve on something that we love, like being able to play stairway to heaven in guitar before you set out to compose your own music.

I really like the game but I would like it more if you can have more than one artifact on at one time.. or like one on each row. Like the Midas glove and the death rattle since there on different rows! Please + this so the maker can see. :)

is it just me or are demons over 250 realy slow... and i got 250 of everything, so they should progress at 10x speed...
Just like the previous "100" soft cap, progression will get smoother with further content updates (we do have plans for an endgame, that's why we attempted to settle on the final numbers before hand, instead of just winging it)

I have an idea For a price of at least 10-100 souls you can HAVE 2 Ancient items at the same time and then 100-1000 for 3 and 1000-10,000 to have 4 10,000-100,000 And so on

so the math isnt always consistant ... I have 286 mummys and had midas turned on it told me I was getting 1 trillion then I turned midas off to buy more minions cheaper after buying minions I turned midas back on and now I only make 982 billion off the same number of mummys

You shouldn't need to re-puchase artefacts when swapping between them.
If I choose the midas glove and then buy the armor, changing back to the midas glove should not cost me souls.

Why is it that when you spend souls on an upgrade it automatically is added to the souls you get when you reset? Shouldn't you lose the souls?
They are the real measure of your progress, so I don't want players to lose them (and they get harder and harder to get, so it would be a shame if you lost the ones you already gotten)

I think this may be one of the best idle games I've encountered so far on Kongregate. That being said, I only rated it 4 out of 5 stars for two reasons. I tend to keep my idle game running in the background while I do other things during the day. I pop back in from time to time to upgrade something and discovered the game does not progress minimized. Close the game and it progresses or leave it up it progresses but minimized it just flat stops. Not idling at all. And when you leave it up and running, it can never go to the screen saver because of the animation of the characters and likely the progression bars for each monster moving. Thats not idling either. And on the comment Baymina made about the community page, I encountered that too...have it open a second window or tab instead of taking us completely out of the game. I too find it just doesn't do!

Whoa, I don't remember clicking being this effective. I have the Hero Killer active and at least 50 of everything but Souls (10), but now I can fully fill up even the Demon progress bar in as little as 4 clicks! Considering that's about a half-trillion bucks before it breaks ATM, it seems pretty mighty compared to when I needed roughly a full 100 clicks or far longer. Did you stealth update this or something? (Also using Firefox, but it seems to work fine.)

good game, but you should do something about the balancing
the early minions become really fast quiet useless
when you get the demons, all the others can't even produce enough to be worth mentioning
maybe you can make the buffs from achievements stackable, so that the early ones become more usefull, because they get the buffs faster.
also you get really fast 100 of everyone, so that the next two achievments for everyone is not that great until it is stackable, because they are lower
maybe you rethink it a bit, you also could give them different Buffs through achievements

Would be cool if you hat some kind of talent tree and use souls in it, and increase cost per level and unlock higher talents.

If you buy an artifact, then buy another one and chose that one instead, you have to re-buy the other artifact you already bought to switch back to that on, and I'm talking about within the same game even. Is that supposed to happen, because it kind of sucks.

sorry about spaming you, my conection was bad, and didn't load answers... :s by the way, just as an idea, what if you added a "hero" tab, where you can upgrade heroes that would take on your monsters, the better they are the more gps that monster gets, lets say a pesant fighting skeletons, paladin-demons and such. make the first upgrades expensive enaugh so that you are able to buy them after you had about 200 of all units, after that you realy need to wait a lot, so this could be a nice bonus way to further boost gps
That will be possible since I moved the "getBigNumber" function to it's own module. Let me think of a simple way to do it, and I'll add it to the UI improvements queue (a friend asked me the same thing over the phone, so I guess many people want that feature)

it seems that you have to have money over the original price, to be able to purchase boss at 250times lover with vlads armour
