@MrTulip get all the artifacts. upgrade you minions and bosses as much as you can without it taking too long for an upgrade. close the game for an hour or two. come back. profit. repeat
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
just keep starting new games over and over. Pretty soon you will have hundreds of souls. Then you can start leveling up quickly.

How do you get souls??? there should be a help tab to help you with earning basics in the game and also there should be more units and the cost/get ratio is totally unbalanced. thanks for reading this if you do and consider my comment if you want.

Day 7493057693058340: I have come to terms that I am a time-traveling wizard after not only all the souls of people on this planet, but because I have over 1 trillion of them, all the souls of everyone who will BE. This would worry me, but I have $10decillions all is well! I have traveled at least 8000 years to do this however, so this comes as no surprise. Skeletons are useless even if just one of them give me $1 trillion. Pathetic. But I *still* do not have enough money to buy Agares. This vexes me to no end. HOW AM I, THE GREAT MASTER OF TIME, SUPPOSED TO BEAT A DARNED CAPITALIST!? Is it because he uses angels while I use demons? Hmmm, perhaps he is onto something. No matter. Soon, I will have both the Hades Helm and Muramasa on my side...let's see his angels stop me then! HA! Until next time, have fun time traveling!

I fast fowarded 100 years then after realising I still don't have enough money I rewinded back but to my surprise I couldn't open my minons tab :o

The difference between passive bar progression and active clicking progression is so gigantic, this game is hardly an idle game. I can barely tell the bars moving on their own, it's like 1 pixel per minute. Uninspiring and dull overall.
I'm sorry we made you feel that way, it was an unintended consequence of following community feedback, we just introduced an new artifact that'll put idling vs non idling back into balance.

520 bats. $1 billion gold looted. Spend 9 quadrillion, 530 bats. STILL $1 billion gold looted. I realize you want to keep the end game really far away, but it's getting to the point where the cost benefit ratio isn't doing anything. It takes days for me to get anywhere, and when I can finally buy 10 more, there is virtually no benefit to it. I have 2000+ souls (which supposedly give me a bonus). I can only imagine how the game will be in later stages. Bosses already cost quintillions and I can't upgrade them anymore.
Working on the next update (there's *awful* internet where I'm currently at, so I'm being very careful to avoid pushing bugs to the live server, because if the internet goes down, I wouldn't be able to fix them).

btw, really enjoy the game, great fun, but it is made to feel like some protected secret about how to get souls, and how much money is required to get them. maybe add in the description/instructions a brief note about souls being accrued during gameplay and only attained for use upon reset, and it would really have been nice (still would) to have some friggin clue how far that damn carrot is... almost quit the game before I figured that out, now it is actually a lot more fun. 4 of 5, incomplete/still needs polish, very good work.

bug report; left game running while I did other stuff (lunch, smoke, actuall other stuff besides poking away at mouse) came back to a script error message, maybe nothing wrong but here is what it said; Script: http://talesay.github.io/overlod/game.min.js:520

This seems to have learned what made adVenture Capitalist such a good idle, which is great to see. I'm not sure about the overall quality esp. w.r.t. balancing, as I've only been playing for a few minutes, but it's very, very gratifying to see another developer taking this approach!

If you are not restarting the game to get more souls for the unused soul = 1% more gold, then you are kinda missing the point. Since I now have like 30k unused souls, it takes me literally 1 minute to get all my units to 500 minions and most bosses to level 4 or 5. Also, its an idle game. Idle games are, well, about idling. It's their nature. This is probably one of the best idle games I've played.

This is really a horrible game. It's boring and repetitive, and feels pointless. Some people here have tried to defend this game, which makes no sense, because it has no positive merits whatsoever.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Using math sure is fun, but try to remember to either a) make progression slow enough that hiring more than 10 of the beginning ones makes some sense or b) to make the difference between the first ones and the last not be too big that the first means jack shit after playing for 2 minutes. Learn how to make a game.

OK I'll admit I "cheated" to get my numbers up. (Only for testing purposes of course.) I found that in the normal course of play (i.e. no cheats) there is no way you could get the final Boss upgrades, and besides they are either bugged or don't do much in any case. Fun game though. Thanks for it.

I enjoy the game but it needs some balance. I would also appreciate it if I didn't have to rebuy artifacts shizzle after a reset.

It is clear from reading the comments that the author is still working hard to update this game. Despite the fact that the game needs balance and endgame work, its quite well done and enjoyable. The 8-bit style gfx are charming, and the concept adds a unique feel to an established idle click genre. I am writing this comment only to encourage the author to continue the work, because I eagerly check this game daily for updates. Thank you for your hard work!

im pretty sure im not getting paid the full amount when i minion pays out. my demons are at 18 billion (at the later end) but i already had 4,8 bil and when it completed i only had 22.2 surly i would be nearer the 25 :/
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Okay, completely imbalanced. You can use the date on your computer to go ahead years, and even with 25 billion souls I'm nowhere close to getting the last upgrades, I can get to 4 of the demon/wizard upgrades, and then theres no chance of going further. It costs 400 nonillion and after going ahead 100 years I only earn about 12, and thats with 750+ of every monster type. You need to drastically adjust the rates on here if you want people to actually enjoy this game long term.
That experiment could work, if it weren't the limit on the amount you can earn past October 8th ;) (that's a date I modify when I push updates). Script Kiddies should search for the number "1412823600000", before October 8th, if they want to try to "hack" the game. (this is a hint for the noobs at KongHack)

lol this is like adVenture capitalist.. only better graphics and you turned it into an RPG theme xD i do like this idea much better, but still.... i see where you got the ideas from ;)

You get soul by earning money, the more money the more soul but you can't win the final upgrades are too much. You can't reach it with compound interest nor millions of years...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You can't win. I spent a million year with hundreds of billions of soul but couldn't upgrade everything... It's so sad...
Don't play this game or you will feel sad and incomplete too.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Carefully check the artifact screen, you can buy more artifact slots for souls. You get all souls refunded on starting a new game+.

anyway you could separate the sound files and let us mute the parts we don't want to hear? the music and whips are fine but the constant *CHING* of the money gets annoying fast. other than that this is a really nice "Idle" game 4/5
