KeeperBvK : I generally just use a generic tank/moxie/mage setup with a floating slot to fill and epic gear mostly from the previous tier forged to 3+ stars. I've never actually paid much attention to the dungeon fights as long as I can gain resources from them.
If you're getting wiped without completing a single level, you're under-geared and need to craft better level gear.

How to approach Spooky Spot VIII? The first enemy basically cannot be damaged, and the second one brings all my heroes down to 50% HP immediately...

@daexion: That's what I figured. I was more wondering about the word Moxie, cause I've never heard it outside of this game.

I'm not gonna lie, the museum is one one of the most tedious things I've ever done, but I'm already almost done with level 7.

Constantly having to fuse things is annoying. Can we get a long queue we can fill up and will be placed in fusion slots when they are free?

Finishing low museum levels really only takes a day each initially and a few days for levels around 5. I wasted so much time finishing most level 10 items when I should have finished low levels first for the boosts and gradually go up to level 10 to finish it faster. Finishing the first 5 levels and then level 10 is literally faster than finishing level 10 first. If the museum opened when forging unlocked, people would spend too much time painstakingly forging and donating items when doing it at the end would be much faster.

It would be nice to see which resource is required for an item in the museum tab and also which + buttons are clickable and which ones require more resources or an item.

The "retrieve now" button of expeditions works on the page with all the expeditions, but not on a single expedition's page. If milestones are reached, that page also doesn't update them.

Use heroes with maxed out items on level 1 dungeons and finish level 1 items first for the museum. I reached floor 438 (110 materials per 10 seconds), floor 607 (152/10s) and floor 659 (165/10s). After that, you get boosts to make finishing level 2 faster. And so on. By the time you reach level 8, you'll finish much faster than if you did 8, 9 and 10 before moving on to 1-7.

Something super irritating is the Expeditions constantly bug out and refuse to allow me to end them with the "retrieve now" button.

This is a great game and well worth the time. I have two minor criticisms. First, the museum mechanic could be more satisfying. I like that it forces us to revisit previous levels with new characters and skills, opening new strategies to max resource gains on old levels. The problem is that resource caps prevent enough post-AFK progressto feel satisfying. A market upgrade at level 9 to increase resource capacity at low levels (say +1000 to lvl 1 to 5) might help. Maybe have a post-endgame one too. Also, another reward might help like a forge boost to the item type (i.e. auto +1), achievements, cosmetics, or a more impactful trophy system. Second, the strategy becomes a little stale for boss fights. After level 4, it feels like “burning” down enemies with damage too good for too long and on most replays. It might be interesting to use boss skill randomization on the replays to increase difficulty and need for strategic thinking. We can’t auto-refight boss levels anyways, use that pause.

@willianllll: If you select "Cloud Save" from the bottom bar, sign in to Kongregate, and then select "Load from Cloud" you should get your progress back. Otherwise, you need to have saved your Export Save last time you played, and then input that code into "Import Save".

Team to beat the 10th boss (Beclutcher) from left to right: Grogmar (Marked Target), Zoe (Catastrophe), Lambug (Waning Blows) and Beorn (Revenge). All have epic level 10 items with 10 forge upgrades. Lambug has Powerful helmet and belt. Zoe has Powerful hat and pendant. Grogmar has Powerful Mask and Ring. That's to do almost double damage without getting killed too quickly. The boss kills a hero after 7 turns anyway, so too high health is wasted. Might as well do more damage to kill him faster. I forgot to add trophies after switching teams, so those make it even easier.

How does adding more heroes to an expedition give a penalty? It's so much faster! 1 x 12 heroes is faster than 2 x 6 heroes or 3 x 4 heroes. The only benefit of splitting up the group is not having to come back to the game multiple times a day and being able to run it overnight for 3 times the profit instead of it stopping after 4 hours.

Forge & Fortune isn't a game you return to multiple times a day because you just can't wait to play it again. You return to it multiple times a day (for like half a minute each time) to donate some items to not waste resources. A completely mindless and soulless grind.

This game starts off as a fun little game and ends as a major chore you're glad to finally be done with. Good games make you feel like you never want them to end, not the other way around. Who here is praying for level 11 to be released?

63 Days to 100%. After beating the final boss, start with level 1 gear and work your way up from there, the speed/rarity bonuses help on higher tier gear. Before closing the game, use fortunes for epic gear, you'll end up with wasted materials so spending them on getting an epic is worth. Also switch to the T10 materials, they are so slow that getting a jump on them is worth far more than burning time overnight on lower tier ones that come in fast. Fusing is your friend, fuse up anything and everything so you're never waiting for an epic. For inventory management, keep 40 Rare and 20 uncommon of each thing, takes only 2 slots of space per item to fill the museum and other rarities are a short fuse or desynth away.

I've made the mistake of trying to mostly finish a lot of items on level 8, 9 and 10 instead of just beating the game as fast as possible and then fill up the museum starting from level 1. Level 1 resource collection becomes extremely easy since you'd be extremely overpowered, so you'd reach very high floors in the dungeon, which means a lot of resources per second. When you finish donating items from low levels, the crafting rate and rarity rates go up a lot, which makes it easier to finish the high levels. Finishing the high levels first is gonna take you longer and for no benefit since low levels are already really easy to finish with the lowest rates.

The inventory limit is really annoying. I just want to swap out which items I wanna craft based on the amount of resources I have and what I need without having to sell a bunch of items first and ending up keeping them until I donate all of them to the museum.

Why is the museum locked behind so many levels? At the 9th floor I really don't care if it increases my epic rate anymore. I could have used that on floor 1 but who cares at this point when I'm 1 step from game end

"As for adding 6000+ UNIQUE items to the Museum? Forget it! I haven't got the time for a ridiculous goal like that. Maybe if I was 2 decades younger I'd be able to complete it by the time I'm as old as I am now, but at my age,, I'd probably be in the grave from old age before I even approach that goal." - me, June 23rd, 2023. Today on reconnecting since Kongregate only allows you to have 1 game active while I have 3 ongoing, I discovered that I'd already donated 6364 unique items and got the badge. Given the overflow, I probably actually had enough to complete it 1-2 days ago. My error was in estimating that EVERY level would be as hard to complete as level 10. yes, you need just as much to elevate a level 1 white item to level 10 as you so a level 10 purple, but by then you're so powerful you can get upwards of 100 material PER TICK on level 1 so you just blast through it. Same with other low levels, but not quite as fast. All I can really say about my previous comment is "oops"...

I ran into the problem as well. If you have the browser tab open and [for me close laptop, desktop probably sleep] it will pause the game. To get around it you have to close the game tab and then it will do a time-based estimation of progress.
