For those curious about how to play Bot Arena 3 post-Flash with the SuperNova SWF Enabler plug-in, use this address provided below by copying the entirety of it and pasting it onto the address bar at the top of your browser to ensure that it bypasses the ‘GameShell’ issue that have plagued many earlier games of Kongregate: supernova://play?swfurl=https://chat.kongregate.com/gamez/0000/0667/live/botArena17_KONG.swf?kongregate_game_version=1205904559 Make sure that your latest installation of SuperNova works correctly, as it will not function if it cannot load games that can work fine without this bypassing of the SWF files here. As a tip for this game, bots that are for attacking enemy bots should have better weapons and lighter armour and done in pairs so that the two can focus on one enemy to be killed off quicker. Alternatively, the second bot can be a tanky healer to prolong the life of the weaker but more fierce attacker bot.

Dang, another good game that does not work anymore due to the change from Flash. Hope it can be fixed so that SuperNova works with it!

Custom Challenge: Sandbag Challenge
Basically try to complete the game while always weighing 20% less than the permitted weight limit.
I'm always coming back to this game so I like to spice it up a bit and this challenge was one I really got a lot of satisfaction from. Wish they'd add it as a badge but after a decade I don't think that's going to happen.
If you want an easier challenge try: "No Duplicates" (Chassis up to you) GL ;)

Nice idea, but the control is so terrible. Ever heard about keyboards? And please add an ESC button to quit the match

This game would make a FANTASTIC teaching tool for would-be game makers. There's soooooo many bad design choices. A very clear case of "what not to do when designing games."

Holy... finally completed the challenge badge, tip for the 4th challenge, have the sword follow shield and control the shield only. Always stand slightly to the in between the sword and dragon. Look for strafe movements, this is where you deal the most damage. I followed this guide:http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming/topics/6623-bot-arena-3-hard-badge-guide

OK, after almost 2 hours of trying endlessly, I killed the dragon, for god's sake, don't try to get the challenge badge.

Is it this much of a grind? Or am I missing something?!? And, seriously, I don't control the bot - not even who they attack? 2/5 for an unfinished game.

Great potential but the lack of control really kills the game.. It would be better with 0 control and higher weight limits than the terrible AI that exists.

The controls make this umplayable. Click and drag? what were they thinking?. Why don't use the arrow keys like every other movable shooter in existence?

I'm kinda drunk but I just finished challenge 4, getting the badge. My advice is get really drunk to get the badge. But not too drunk that you dont get the badge. gn

A second, much more skill based strategy for challenge 4 is to order shield to follow sword, and then strafe REALLY hard. You need to keep shield between you and dragon, just imagine yourself as sword. Bring shield forward by going along a side and then moving behind him quickly, allowing dragon to target shield. Avoid getting close to the dragon, or having shield in the way of your line of sight, otherwise your shots will miss.

I figured out how to do challenge 4.
Dragon will target the bot closest to him, HOWEVER, his gun cannot shoot directly near him. Therefore he will automatically aim at sword, because sword is using the same game with the same range. You have to micro manage shield constantly in order to prevent him from coming too close to dragon, and from getting farther away than sword, while having sword on "follow" on dragon. This strategy also takes a lot of luck, but you can eventually get it.

Also, Challenges 2 and 4 are awful and cheap. The second one takes FOREVER to complete because of how much health the enemy has and the fourth one has a shield that the opponent never hits because it's always either too close or too far from range.

I echo what most others have said: the control scheme really is terrible. Clicking twice to move robots would've been far better than clicking and dragging. I know it's supposed to be strategic to use it, but it feels better to just let the robots do their own thing most of the time. It's a cool concept with a sleek interface, but it needs way better controls and AI.

Challenge 2: Evasion. Try to run in a CIRCLE as much as possible, with some luck you will be successfull.
Challenge 3. Bishop or Pawn first.
Challenge 4. Notice the dragon's weapon has a minimum range of a least 1 bot. So if the shield sticks to it, it is not within range. Let your shield follow the dragon and make sure the shield is in range when approaching it with maximum shot distance for the sword.
Challenge 5: Run along outer edge. Should be easy.
Challenge 6: Keep the soldier between the medic and the commander. Easy as well.
Challenge 7: 1 to 1. Wait.

Please dont make challenges based off of inconsistent and random AI. Its the reason this badge only has 9000 awarded..

Challenge two needs to be a tad bit easier. maybe individual bots losing health if that particular bot hasnt reached you in a while rather than if one single bot hits you all of their health stops falling. I can manage the 4 enemy bots but its near improbable with the speed that your little puppy moves.

That moment you realize this is the third installment of the series or the developer just decided to put 3 and the end of their title.

Challenge 4 was so much easier once I gave up on controlling Sword. (The sniper weapon has a minimum range, too close and Dragon will stop targeting Shield; It will still shoot at the closest enemy when given a choice. The enemy AI is set to "Wander", so it just runs straight until it hits a wall.) Just have Sword set to follow Shield. The trick is to run parallel to Dragon's current path at a distance, ensuring Shield is in range almost the whole time. This means Dragon is already shooting Shield as Sword followed behind. As Dragon walks past, curve Shield around until it's perpendicular to Dragons path until Sword stops shooting. Disengage Shield from Dragon's range and Sword should safely follow. Set up for the next pass as Dragon is spinning around on the wall. Its ok to make a few mistakes. Good luck.

I would rate this 0 if i could. As many others have said the controls are beyond bad. The fact that there is level that depends on those bad controls is unforgivable. Friendly AI refuses to attack The Dragon, while enemy AI ignores the supposed "distractor". That on top of strange AI behaviors and bad balancing make this game more a chore. Madagascar was more enjoyable.
