i like the game but challenge "distracting" is ridiculous because the shield robot just does it's own thing, even when i tell it to go somewhere, shoddy game mechanics ruin a perfectly good game!

I won the first two badges for this on August 22, 2008. I completed 6 of the 7 challenges for the hard badge at that time. This morning I said to myself, "Why on Earth didn't you finish the hard badge?!?" Ten seconds into the 4th challenge, I remembered the awful controls and completely arbitrary targeting of this game.

Almost gave this game 1 star but decided it merits 2 stars because it could be okay if the controls were redesigned. As is, it's bloody terrible -- but with work it could be better.

Ok game. Drag and click controls bit fiddly. Maybe Hot-key the bots and then assign location with click. So just press and click and maybe a target lock on so if you select your bots to target an enemy they don't stop following until resigned/dead/ or target eliminated.

There's just no reason for weight limits outside of "challenges." It's counterintuitive to enforce a grind for money on one hand, and then disallow the fruits of our labor by disallowing heavier weights in challenging fights.

Did the easy badge, the controls require too much effort for the career-hard-badge, but I was really amazed by the challenges. I did 5 of them on the first try, the fifth on the second try (how that enemy, on my first try, succeeded in predicting my movement and blocking my robot is beyond me), but the 4th was a pain. You cannot effectively control the robots as much as you want. Really, just assign each robot a button, 1 for the shield, 2 for the sword. Also, shield goes "wandering" (/sitting in a corner), but sword is eager to fight the dragon ... really? Anyway, my winning strategy for that challenge was to send the shield to follow the enemy (and it would never stop following <3) and send the sword in range when the dragon was attacking (but not closer than the shield), and I did it on the first try.

Look...just focus fire...stop turning around to shoot the other bot, shoot at the one I tell you to shoot at...why is that so hard?

I played the game for the badge, but i love AI robot game.
Here the AI is totally dumb, but you can control the robot... which is a kill fun since the control sucks making the robots awful to control.
I felt frustrated and gave up at the 5th arena (pretty doable but the awful gameplay kill the fun too much)

Your controls are useless.
You want us to use strategy but give us effectively no means of actually controlling them to do what we want.
Sure, you can tell them to follow a bot, but their method of following can be completely stupid and even while following the bot it will still happily ignore it and attack others.

How stupid of a game, that you lose the match and you lose money thus making the game point less to play. You should get some money for killing bots not for losing the match. I had $250, lost the second match twice and now have $50. No way to get upgrades at the current rate. This need major work and fix everything or just poor rate until remove it.

ok, nevermind, you can have two roombas. >> (I'm on interesting medication, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

This game is impossible. You can barely control the robots, and you start out facing two robots that, while weaker, are not weak enough that it's beatable. I can kill one, but the other gets me every time.

I didn't end up beating challenge 4 in the end. I did, however, invent some choice new swear words involving robot anatomy, so it wasn't a total loss.

Tip for challenge 4 : the dragon and the sword have a mid-long range weapon, so pushing your shield against the dragon is NOT the solution (the dragon can't attack the shield so it will attack the sword instead).
To win, keep the shield at mid-range of the dragon and leave the sword to attack on its own. Make sure the shield is always closer to the dragon than the sword, but not between the dragon and the sword (or it will take the sword shots). You will still need some luck but at least it is not impossible.

challenges are pure bloody luck. Would really like it if you could at least quit back to menu easily. Waiting for "shield" to die on challenge 4 every time, I could read, no scratch that, write a book.

There used to be a small Open Source game where you could program the AI of these bots. That would make it less of gambling and more of thinking. Ah, those were the days. As if I wasn't sad before. 3/5, controls need work and make those bots programmable. Please.

whenever i give my bot a long range weapon he decides to sit in the corner and spin around while the short range enemy destroys him.

I wish I had noticed that the "Zeni" heals before equipping both of my bots with them and thus producing an indefinite battle.

I usually have no problem controlling the bots with my mouse, but now that im playing this on a touch pad, the ai really stands out as being brutally unforgivingly pants-on-head-retarded.

And there needs to be a 'Restart' hotkey for challenges. The fact that there isn't one is, frankly, embarrassing for the developer. Ridiculous.
