In challege 4, the dragon seems to avoid attacking the shield at all, I mean, sword dies and he just kinda wonders around.

More helpful hints: if you are outnumbered, go for the bots at the edge of the group of enemy bots. they'll group into a group and it'll help destroying them

And if you lost while doing that, find out the weapon and plating of the bots you had just fought and find their weapons' range. if it is long, find a short range weapon and stick close to the opponent bot. if it is a short range weapon, do the opposite and get a long range weapon and stay far away

if you want control, click on the bot and drag the mouse elsewhere, that'll give you the control you want. If you want the bot to follow the enemy bot around, drag the mouse from your bot to the enemy and it will lock onto the chosen bot. If you decide you want to move your bot aftre already locking on another bot, just drag the mouse and you will have full dominance over the control of your bot.

Wait, challenge 4 used machine guns instead, it would be sooooo much easier. Damn you developer! You had to make our lives so hard didn't ya?

If career mode is hard (which it isn't), challenge mode should be an impossible badge. namely Challenge 4, which is so annoying especially thanks to the AI.

The lack of control makes healing extremely useless. If you can't keep a bot off the frontlines without constantly tell him to run away, you might as well have him attack.
You might want to consider having a few different AI choices that the user can pick through as they are constructing the bot.
For example:
BotTank: Pursue Closest Enemy
BotHealer: Keep Distance From Enemy (while still keeping them or allies in own range of fire)

For challenge 4, first try to get the dragon to chase after the shield, then chase after the dragon with the sword while keeping distance. This method makes the challenge much easier.

Got the first hard badge nearly 2 years ago.. I still don't got the second one with only challenge 4 left.. It's really a shame the controls are so bad else this would have been one of my favorite flash games ever.

I like how all the comments around this one are all under rating threshold...
On topic, I really liked the game, except for the fact that the hard badge should be an impossible one. Then again, that's Kongregate's fault, not the developer's. 5/5

The ability to keep the formation would be a nice touch... As in their relative positions from each other are constant.

I find it effective to play off of the bot's range with their weapons. With the longer range weapons, you can keep running from the enemy while shooting at them when they can't (if they have a shorter range weapon). Same can go for the opposite. The longer range weapons generally can't shoot your if you're RIGHT on top of them. Use a short range weapon to get close and slaughter them as they try to escape.
Just a few examples though. Hope it helps! =D

On level 2, the enemies move faster than you do. How are you supposed to learn evasion, if the whole premise is flawed? This game could have been awesome, but it sucks simply because of lack of control. 2/5.

Challenges 4-6 are so frustrating. I should probably stop before i really go mad and never play this game. Even though this game is a pretty good game(reminds me of a show i use to watch where there were robots with meele weapons fighting each other control by their users). Too bad they stop.

as a final prize, I wish I could fight any arena with any team weight rather than gettin some shitty gold plating and gun

Aye, that was how I eventually got lucky and did it. Most of the time though, I'd tell Shield to move somewhere and he decided he'd rather hump Dragon or the corner, thereby getting Sword killed.

For challenge 4, try to have your Shield always move the same direction that the Dragon is moving, but keep it a slight distance away so that it can draw its fire, then move your Sword just into range and fire away. Took a few tries, but that was how I beat it.

-beats first three challenges- "Well, that wasn't so hard, dunno what everyone's complaining about."
-loses on challenge four over and over- "STOP NO DON'T GO THERE NO MOVE HERE NO NOT THERE WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU SHOOT IT YOU MORON NO NOT THERE ARGH I HATE THIS!"

I finally beat challenge 4 and what helps is to have the shield follow the sword and control the sword to be just outside the dragon's range. When the dragon is coming toward your bots, send the sword diagonally backwards so that the shield is always closer but the sword can still fire over its shoulder. Watch the small 'bump' on the front of the sword's chassis to know which way it's turning so you can change its direction before it runs into the dragon like an idiot. This took many tries, but it's the best strategy I found.

very funny. I bought some new weapon and mounted it to my bots, next fight i have to realize, that it's some kind of "healing beam". now the only two bots on the field heal each other constantly, but can't shoot. so the fight gos forever and there's no button for throwing the towel...
