every one seems to be complaining about lvl 4 so heres what i did, surround the east and west passes with miniguns and as the waves progress, build more miniguns around the north and south edges, dont forget to upgrade and if you have the spare cash dont be afraid to drop in some heavy guns :)

Nice game - but upgrades dont make the gameplay better. Also this game has not so much strategy in it - its more a wild clicking in the end. So only 3/5.

TIP: If you sell a unit before it reaches 0 hp, it will not count as a destroyed unit. (For those who are aiming for medals at harder levels).

changed from 3/5 to 4/5 once i figured out how great the level designs were towards the end... challenging yet easy to see what needs to be done ^^
Toffee Games: You are amazing at basic level and graphic design... truly, but the lacking RPG elements prevent you from a 5/5 from at least this player, i implore you to get together with another programmer where a level up mechanic is his expertise, because you will have a truly amazing game

Having spent a lot of time with this, "more" is almost always preferable to "better." When I tried to play certain later levels by placing fewer towers and upgrading them, I got rolled. When I put weak towers on every possible spot and kept spamming them when they'd get destroyed, I'd pass. Eventually I could upgrade my "core" guns, but most funds went to replacing the quantity of towers, not the quality.

Very Tough Game-at least at mission 10.
Perhaps add a second Research tree which adds starting money, increased damage, splash radius etc that can be bought with badges earned from beating a level on its highest difficulty. That way if I fail I can go back and improve previous levels to get bonus's to help me on the one I'm stuck on.

Lot of potential but needs some serious work . The upgrades have no effect and the game gets too hard too fast . Also the starting energy is very inconsistent . You start with 1000 on this level and then 600 on the next . There are either way too many places to build weapons or no where near enough . The paths are weird from level to level . Either the bugs have too long to walk or they have way too short a distance to walk . The basic rule of tower defense is
long paths at first with time build upgrades and then the level get progressively shorter and the "bad guys" get badder . This game could be great but it falls way short .

Towers target the best target for them to fire at as far as hit points go...the machine guns shoot small targets, the cannons shoot mid hp targets, and the rockets shoot huge tagets first. If the cannons shoot at the little bugs first instead of hitting the mid hp targets first then you just wasted a shot. Although and option to adjust targeting would be nice...

Just finished all levels on Ultimate mode! I really liked this game. Don't know why so many people are complaining about it being too hard. Wasn't THAT hard. Good game! 5/5

Difficulty spike is way out of sync with available upgrades. 2/5 for severe balance issues. Could be great with increased power.

Guns should attack the bugs which are attacking it! Im tired of seeing bugs attack my gun while it is shooting at another.

@jaradcel this is ment to be dificult, with only three tower's to use, all if a differint purpose, comes into strategy. and why would you downgrade your turrets?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The upgrade system is wonky and the difficulty ramps up too fast. Turning what would have been a great game into a purely meh game. 3/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
perhaps change the upgrade menu so we can see the increase in effectiveness? For example, sell for 35%, 55%, 75% of original cost?

I love playing games from the prospective of aliens invading a planet and slaughtering the indigenous people for no reason other than daring to try and resist me. 5/5

There should be a 5 seconds delay when the next wave is available. Then you would have some time to look what kind of enemies you're facing and not losing part of the income because you're checking the enemies before clicking. Or maybe the button should be already the next enemies preview.

Um, oops.
On mission 13 I thought it was like the end of some games (like Halo: Reach) where you are not meant to win and are supposed to just hold on. So after a minute I thought the game was over and ended it.
Only upon playing the game a second time I found out that you can beat the level and beat more levels.

great game, I like how a game with so few towers can offer so much complexity. speeding up the game isn't a huge problem for me, but I'd like to have a "call waves early" button that I can toggle on/off, which calls waves as soon as they appear. repair all would be awesome, as well as apply shields to all damaged towers, say damaged by more than 20% of full health, prioritising the most damaged. upgrades could be expanded, but that's just adding to something that's already quite satisfying.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
repair all would be insane, from my experience it seems like towers dont attack when they repair. repair all would let the bugs have a free change to gather in a big group to overwhelm you. . .

Want to start by saying the look of this game is awesome and all of the towers really feel like they have a purpose, so awesome start! i just feel the rpg elements in this game are lacking, the upgrades in and out of the level don't add much to the game... i can't decide which tower is going to target which type of enemy, ect.
3/5 overall for me... its just too basic for my tastes personally

I love the option to choice between Muted or With Sound, It's perfect when playing and still look like I'm doing the homework! :)

The game feels like a mix between Starship Troopers and Dune 2, i like it.
I LOVE the soundtrack. Where can i get it?

Today, we will see the turrets targeting decisions...
Turret away from base: "Sir, do we attack the monster hitting us?! It's almost dead!", "No, fire at that monster over there!"
Turret at base: "Sir, the base is (about to be/is being) attacked! Do we defend it?", "No, fire at the monster attacking us!"
From what I can see... the turrets make "great" targeting decisions...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like the game, it has room for improvement. It would be nice to be able to prioritize targets, too many times I see towers targetting the same enemy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's a bit mediocre for a tower game to be honest, I mean if you put it up to the top ranked in the same genre, this looks rather bleak.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Currently it's only a 3.5/5 game; with better and more upgrades, a x2/x4 on/off speed button it could easily be a 5/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
In an overcrowded genre, some decidedly mediocre bits will ruin a game. In this case, having to hold down the 2x, underwhelming upgrades (both in mission and from the exp menu) and some questionable targeting decisions (guns tend to favor themselves over the base and will target monsters that are approaching them instead of the ones they've already let slip that are attacking the base directly).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
2x Speed needs to be a toggle, not holding it. There must be a repair hotkey. Towers just die too fast. With maxed armor upgrades I barely notice any difference.
