to all:
thanks for the comments, keep em coming. It seems the biggest issue are the controls, i can guarantee if you take a couple of games to get used to them it is well worth it. I created a version with the mouse but not being able to shoot in any direction would be a huge disadvantage. :-)
Astrana: nothing will ever spawn ontop of you, you must have moved into something.
Turkey Lord
Spartan:
The sounds are all unique, either created by me in Soundforge or Creative Commons from the freesound project.

Not bad, but also nothing new; just another clone among this same style of game. Add a new dimention to it. Be creative.

It's okay. I enjoyed the first Fracture much much better. It is a lot smoother, and the controls just seem to work better. However, I do like the added powerups a lot.

It's good, but there wasn't much to set it different from other shooters. You used flash well, and it was good, but still.

It is ok, I didn't like the controls, wouldve been better if you aimed and shot with the mouse...
And some of the sounds sound like they came from another game...o_O

Computer game players will expect that WSAD move and arrows shoot, not the other way around. Further, because of modern keyboard limitations, making an all-keyboard control scheme for this game is insane -- you can't have, say, WA and Up Right all at the same time, because modern keyboards only allow three inputs.
Plus, the game has wicked slowdown.

take geometry wars, make it paint, and add lackluster controls
the paint idea is cool, but the controls really are take some getting used too but could be much better with the mouse
4/5 cause still great implementation, just not the best controls

i like the overall feel of it. personally i find it slightly irksome that you can move as fas as your bullets (don't ask me why). not a big fan of the controls, i really want to use the mouse to shoot. hope the controls weren't the part that was meant to be 'retro'.

More from me: I also like that you give a fair bit of warning when your powerup is going to run out. I would hate to be on top of an enemy without knowing that you don't have any more time with the star powerup. 5/5

I really like this game. The paint splatter is a really good idea and looks really good when there's a lot on the screen.
I don't know why people have a problem with the controls. They're really easy to get used to. I also disagree with the person who said you needed background music. I find sometimes that it's too much and gets annoying if you're playing for a long time. I agree, though, that some kind of level-system could be used. Other than that, I really, really like this game. Definitely badge-worthy.

It's pretty cool, but I would add more apparent difficulty scaling aka lvls. It's obvious that the badies are in fact getting stronger, but with out levels to tell me how far I’ve gotten it like, "hey the badies are getting stronger, so what, why should i keep playing?" Adding lvls will give us the motivation we need to keep playing.

I like the game, but the screen jerking around when you kill enemies makes playing it REALLY uncomfortable and straining. I suggest either eliminating or severly reducing screen shakage.

I really like this game, its cool how when they die paint splaters all over the bottom, unlike most games where they just blow up. 5/5 from me.

the only problems i found were when you make a lot of paint splatters it's hard to see your ship, maybe some glowing aura around you and your bullets. also some warning to the spawning enemies would be nice, like a flashing area before they just appear.

Really sweet game, i disagree with people who say the controls make it impossible to play, controls make it fun and unique, kodos, 5/5

Good game, though it coulda used some music. The controls are a little bit tricky to catch onto, but that's probably just me. Heh, I'm uncoordinated. D:

3/5, nice graphical theme, spongy response coupled with what feel like Hand-reversed controls, make the game more infuriating than enjoyable. Still the IS actually quite enjoyable.
