This game is a gem. Played for anti idle at first years ago and still came back after deciding to learn Japanese. I love you Tukkun <3

FINALLY!!!!! After 2 weeks of daily grinding, I finally got hyakku master on every level, and can at last say I'm not japanese illiterate. Five stars.

I wish I still had access to this game, my Hiragana and Katakana skills have vastly improved since I first played it.

I will be sad to see this go. Playing this casually (a couple days every couple months) I have become quite comfortable reading Hiragana, and am getting better at Katakana. I spent a lot of time on Duolingo and other sites, but none really got me comfortable with the alphabet until this game. So thank you so much for making this and sharing it!

okay after 5 years procrastinating I have a few more months time to beat this game and learn a bit before flash is goes bye bye

Me: *simply wrote letters and simply pressed spacebar to beat the stage* Also me: "Woohoo I beat the stage! I must be pro in Japanese!"

Tukkun can you please try to find a way to make it playable without flash? They're going to terminate it soon and I don't want this game to be lost in the abyss of history T-T

To anyone saying it doesn't work - Make sure you enable flash (Google how to do so with your browser, as it can be done with addons) ~~ I've played through a few stages and I like what I see. Wish I had found this game years ago, back when I started learning Japanese. Still, it's a great way to review. :) 5/5 from me.

Would really like to be able to play this, but unable to make it work. I type the letter required, but just won't acknowledge 99% of the time. I think I only managed to fire of one shot, it was the wrong letter.

I feel like a minor improvement to the typing games to stop stuff like carpal tunnel from flaring would be to add in all the number keys 1-0 so that you can press a number key instead of typing out all letters. It's certainly important to be able to type out the characters with the Latin alphabet, but I often find that I mistype things and it can be kind of frustrating if you're intent is to get perfects for practice. Maybe adding a minigame for romaji is in order? It might also help get used to typing Japanese on an English keyboard

This is a great game but I have trouble typing for some reason. Is it because of the game or does the game just not like my computer?

This is really nicely done. I know nothing about kana, but feel like I'm picking it up and beginning to recognize the characters. I'd love to have a tool like this for the languages I have tried to learn. It would be even more effective if the game sounded out the kana you recognized successfully, so that you can learn to interpret kana as spoken sounds/words directly without having to translate into the roman alphabet in between.

When you vaguely recognize the name "Tukkun", then look at other games.. OHHH the guy who made Anti-Idle!! Blast from the past

@Vamps10 - There's only 10 characters to remember, and the answers reveal themselves when they pass the yellow line anyway...

I'm going to have to agree with several other people - the game constantly ignores keyboard inputs. And no, clicking on the game does NOT help at all.

If you are finding this hard because you don't know any Hiragana, the easy badge is quite easy. Try just visually memorizing one or two romaji/Japanese character associations before starting the level, then guess the others as you play. The game is quite forgiving. Instead of "killing you off" in early levels, you keep replaying to get higher percentages correct on your first try. Play it as a general memory puzzle game.

Don't down-vote people that say it doesn't work. I'm using Safari on a Mac and it doesn't recognise any key I press, no 'a' no 'i' and no space.
