Anyone else types 「sya」for「しゃ」、「jya」for「じゃ」、「cya」「ちゃ」? jya and cya was invalid at u-biq if you used romanji to answer those questions but those are my typing habit. since 「きゃ」was「k+ya=kya」, so 「しゃ」was「s+ya=sya」for me.

Overall a very fun game, although a perfect score in the last couple levels seems more about mastery over your fingers than mastery over kana. Probably 90% of my streak losses have been because of things like misjudging the timing for pressing space/enter and not hitting the keys hard enough for the keypress to register. (The other 10% of failures have been primarily due to hesitation over ソ / ン and シ / ツ.)

This is awesome, clear and makes the learning of hiragana super entertaining! I hope you got a good grade on that school project! Cheers from France

The words from Zahid41 which have -11 rating says:「せいこう、このゲームはむずかしいですが、せいそうはたのしいことです。」(漢字:「成功、このゲームは難しいですが、清掃は楽しいことです」)

The game is great, but i lost my progression twice and had to restart all over... It still not easy for me to unlock the second half of the adventure by doing 1,500,000 in freeplay but thanks god you though about this feature ! Anyway, this game is for me the best way to learn kana, i'll recommand this

Hey, Tukkun. I suppose you could say that I'm an amateur game developer. You know, just like you ;). I currently use Game Maker: Studio for the games I make. What platform/programming language did you use for this game? And would you recommend them?

As someone who is totally not a weeb, I often come here when I feel like I want to refresh my kana, which has happened a few times over the years. This time, I had a more competitive approach, with a focus on reaching or beating Tukkun's impossible Typing Defense and Obstacle Destroy high scores, so I don't think I'll be forgetting a lot of this stuff any time soon. When I feel masochistic enough, maybe I'll finally start focusing on kanji, but I think that kana and some grammar and vocabulary are enough for an illiterate totally-non-weeb like me, just so I can understand in what context mai waifus are calling me "baka"
It takes quite a lot of practice! I also find myself mistaking certain characters during my first 2 or so months of learning Japanese, but over time as I learned more vocabulary, grammar and stuff, I stopped making those mistakes. Perhaps if you stop focusing too much on writing the characters, you'll be able to improve your writing skills without even noticing?

This was very interesting. I never thought anything like this would be on Kong, but for what it was it was nice to see that it was easy to start and pick up. I took five years of Japanese ( I am still bad at it ) Thevisuals if anything could be worked on, but it is a small niggle and overall a good game. I also did a video review of it here if anyone is interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOiCUiNf16Q
Thanks for your comment and review! :o Please understand that all the super awesome visuals in this game are intentional and I have no plans whatsoever to work on it. Thanks!

I've got a problem with this very nice game :(
Is it possible to save my progress in game? Maybe I'm wrong in something

Are you going to make Kanji warrior next? :D I learned kana quite easily but it could never learn kanji except some basic ones.

Stage 11 is drastically more challenging than the previous ones. Separating it into two would make it easier and more consistent with the difficulty of the previous stages.

Somehow my progress wasn't saved between sessions, even though I was signed in and I have the stage 4 achievement. Oh well.

This is a really neat learning game! I really like all the possible options for different learners, and the different game types.

Awesome game! Too bad I didn't find it earlier :(. Btw do you have an ETA for the kanji game you're making? how many kanji will it feature? A shame I already learned most (around 1500), but a little dusting off wouldn't hurt. Keep up the good work! You're helping lots of ppl. :P

Pretty cool, if someone just started learning japanese it can actually help them. It wasn't that challenging for me because I've been learning japanese for 6 years...btw great game, I'd like to see a kanji version of this :)

Well I stand corrected. My Windows 10 computer with Firefox will not play the game but Windows 8 tablet with Firefox will play the game. Cheers for the education. ♥

I thought I had to wait for the men to line up with the line for perfect, and I couldn't figure out exactly where to line them up to get perfect. Took until stage 4 to realize my mistake.. Shoot them as soon as possible :D :D

this game doesn't seem to work on Firefox. I have typed the letters and pressed space/enter. It just doesn't work. Tried it on Chrome, and it works fine.

i typed the characters, but it just won't register...everytime. Is this a bug or am I just not playing this right? And yes, i pressed space after it too :(

As a person who studied Japanese for four years, this is a great game and I hope people can learn something from it... I just wish this was out 5 years ago...

Cool game. I quit after the badge only because it's not my thing, but I really like how stage 4 was different. You put a neat game around learning a very different language. Good job!

I have no interest in learning Japanese and came here just for the easy badge. But, I really commend the designer for creating a fun and interactive game to learn a new language! Maybe I will come back some day with more erudite intentions; for now I'm leaving a high rating and moving on. :)
