Cool. I upgraded the engine, upon entering the game, just before the first race, as recommended, and won on my first go!

You can beat this game without using any brakes (It's an achievement)
For me unless it is raining at 100%, I will set 50:50 for Engine and Handling. If it is 100% raining, it all goes into Handling. The trick is not to get blocked by the opponents and boosting at turns (don't press the accelerator if you see your car veering off and let your boost do the speed increase for you)
But seriously, the opponents are just annoying.

Very fustrating game. Travelling at same speed with enemy, I spin out while they can continue without even moving an inch outwards.

There are only 3 challenges in this game: 1) Clearing the first large turn at the start of the Great Britain map. 2) Surviving the constant exaggerated wooshing noises. 3) Retaining your sanity. The solutions are: 1) Stick to the far right of the track, brake when you reach the turn, boost immediately after. If you crash at any point, restart immediately, you have no chance of hitting top 3. 2) Mute all sound as soon as you start the game. 3) Worship an eldritch horror so you learn to live without it.

Pro tip:For corners with red boards, there will be some space on the other side. If you go outside to cut the corner for just enough time, you will be able to take the corner easily

Really nice game, But, I do agree with the other comments: We need a Minimap - and the slow down issue - and the custom cars - But, I do have one complaint (not to sound all whiny or stuff) I want to be able to see where the other cars are. I hate that I'm useing the boosts recklessly because I don't know how close they are. This game would be amazing in my opinion if your fixed these.

I love how most of the turns after level 5 are impossible to make without crashing or going off the road. I love how when you boost your handling your turns are worse. I love how when you hit another car on the side it goes faster. I love how you instantly crash whenever you hit something but your opponents never seem to crash even when you force them into a pole. I might be raging here but this is the worst racing game on Kong!

I'm finding the most frustrating part is that when other vehicles hit your car, you slow down, but it doesn't affect them in the slightest. This gets very annoying in the last race where everyone passes you by hitting the back of you repeatedly.

Somehow I dont think even the australians are bloodthirsty enough to really line every hairpin turn with chunks of highly explosive metal. It's just not sane.

need to be able to see where the cars are in front of me and behind me. and where i am on the map so i can use the boost on the straight parts. minimap has to happen.

no mini map adds difficulty sure but do the great formula drivers have mini maps try memorizing the map. on that note a start finish marker would be helpful on race selection

This game (apart from the minimap issue) suffers from the generic F1 game problem: Opponents are not subjected to the same laws of physics. Even at the optimum curve, at the optimum speed in tight corners opponents will dash past you as if inertia was only a recommendation for them.
It's fairly rewarding till the last two levels. Then it starts being mean. :D

To get the easy badge on your first race: go to "Set up Car" and set engine to max (top of triangle). Start the race. Hold down W throughout the race even if you're off the track. Don't bother trying to brake ever. Press Space to boost every time it's available and the track ahead is straight. I came first by some margin, even though I crashed once (hit the metal gantry).

Very first time playing I got 1st place. What people fail to realize is you can let go of W/up and brake. WHAT?! BRAKES?! I know, foreign concept. But children of the SNES days of Top Gear will tell you. Don't turbo into turns, and let go of the accelerator.

I played this game through cause of the very nice retro charme. It is sweet if the graphics really base on sprite scaling instead of 3d.

The only thing that kills this is if you max out handling, or bring it close you somehow are more likely to "stall" and stay in a single direction when you want to go the other way. Please fix this bug.

If you're having trouble getting the Hard, unlock the special car. I managed to get all 8 1st places with just the normal car upgraded to 16, but I tried the special car out. It's..basically impossible to loose on any track with it.

It is pretty good, but it get's pretty difficult to get first with some of these corners and opponents who seem to automatically adjust to a speed 10 miles quicker than you. 2nd one is certainly better.

One thing that would make this game better, apart from everything already mentioned, would be the ability to turn off the boost, at the moment its like lighting a rocket, and if you let it build up, its almost impossible to use, as you end up in a sharp corner with this huge extra thrust :P

EFFING FIRST PLACES. For the hard badge, INCREASE ENGINE TO THE MAX. Handling is useless! And when turning, just stop accelerating and just turn. But as soon as you can, start accelerating again. I was having trouble with map 8 until I increased the engine's efficiency.

I really wish the other cards slowed down when they turn. I hate it when I'm doing really well, then when I meet a big turn, I have to slow down to avoid crashing while the other cars just follow their preset path, using their ultimate turning abilities. Then my ranking drops about 8 ranks. This happens even with the highest handling. Plz change.
