Ok, i don't understand how to do this. Whenever i click the screen, i start moving and can't stop. This is very annoying.

so phoenix the games pretty good but it reminds me of fancy pants adventure u just need to add some wall jump action in it with a lil better physics and possibly a wider camrea view on the up side its really good for a test project and the landscapes vary greatly id give this a 4/5 for a test project
p.s maybe u could add somethin unexspected like a lil mini game as an easter egg or a link to one of ur other games on another account name lmao

I talked to you before like 3 or 4 weeks ago and I liked your ideas for the games and this is a great start, but like it was said the friction/bounce thing gets a wee bit annoying but all in all i like it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Most people have already said it, but the bounce is too much. Friction is a little too low - especially landing a jump is very slippery. The camera's motion tracks too quickly, which may just be annoying because of the bounce / speed issue. There's a lot of promise here though, so good luck!

I love the speed and momentum; it feels fun just to move, which is a good start in a platformer. The bounce when he hits the ground feels odd, though - it should either be exaggerated (more bounce) or absent (no bounce). Also if he contacts the side or bottom of a platform while jumping he falls strangely - he pauses during the fall - I think that's something to do with the way you're converting momentum after he bounces off. Probably you're not adding his bounce momentum to his regular-style momentum but instead processing them separately? Keep it up, I want more!

Also, could we please have an option for Arrow Keys? It gets really annoying when only my left hand's doing work, especially when its cramped.

You need more friction~ And please fix the Falling Off section. You need to respawn, please. As Zshadow says, the bouncing IS a little exaggerated, but on the whole a good game. 4/5, and please cut down on the cubes in the background.

Yeah, been said. more friction, reset, fix the fact that if you set it to medium quality he keeps bouncing on the floor for some reason. perhaps add some options of awesome hair. then itd be awesome. would probly go best with some sort of line art or like the background of fancypants.

As I'm sure it has been suggested, I will restate it again. The character runs a bit too fast for a comfortable control. As the character falls, though the bouncing may appear 'realistic', it is a tad over exaggerated and needs to be adjusted to where he won't bounce as much and as deep. Other than that I found the animation to be well done, though I might suggest a different background for the fear of losing my eyes half-way into the game.

If the rectangle layers are supposed to give a 3d background effect you should move them behind the world blocks. Right now it just looks odd because it's like they are between the guy and the world the guy is on

It's good, but I got lost and fell off the map, if that's meant to be there maybe an invisible hitTest code that leads to a frame with a replay button.

Change the background, it moves with the person giving the illusion of it moving too fast. Add an arrow key option. Good luck on your game. (Try to upload somewhere else next time?+ask some friends for FB.)

depending on your speed when you jump, you can go trough walls. What you can do is instead of doing ex: _root.char._x -= 2; you can do ex: _root.char._x -= Speed. Speed what you set the speed of the character to move at.

he shouldn't bounce when he lands unless he's walking on giant marshmallows. if it's something solid then landing = full stop
