Funny, but repetitive. More dialog, more story, would've been awesome. I thought that every level would have a short cutscene but they ended after the first zone :(

Fun game, I ended up with 143 research points and failed the last level twice due to being swamped with monsters, I only bought the armor, other and mid range upgrades

This game is awesome! the gameplay is fantastic, ive never played shooting games with upgrades. im more of a Action/Adventure person, but hey looks like i found a new genre to like! Fantastic game 9/10.

Dislike having to press spacebar to pickup items. Game should be changed so that walking over an item picks it up automatically just like a boost. And agree with Sauls44 about changing your default gun before entering a level.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the short range weapons, they eat through large groups of monsters very quickly. The flame thrower is on par with the minigun, but can kill 10 monsters in one shot instead of just one. The plasma sphere is very useful if you are invisible. Given the choice to be stuck with one type, it would be short range, all it takes is a bit of skill which makes the game more fun to play.

I maxed out my upgrades at level 3 of part 1. It's either you need to reduce the money you get, or make more upgrades to work with. The game can get challenging, but if you rush the minigun you're set. It's kind of OP. It's a fun game but I honestly lost interest. The story kind of stops near the beginning and there wasn't anything to compel me forward after I finished the upgrades. The enemies keep getting stronger, but are essentially recolors adding no new game play elements. With a little more ingenuity this game would be great though.

Yeah, those little mines the guys with staffs throw out drop items/coins upon exploding as if they were normal enemies who'd died. Of course upon finding this out I went ahead and accumulated a bunch of staff guys and collected all the coins their mines dropped, which gave me enough money to gain some 50 upgrade points. That allowed me to buy and fully upgrade everything (or at least everything except close range weps seeing as they suck the nuts) and thus ruined the game for myself. I always wind up doing that crap, damn it...
Haha I don't know why I decided to leave it that way when I noticed it. Probably I just wondered who will notice it and exploit it. Now I am a happy man.

I thought the game was a bit easy. Never replayed a single level, had all weapons bought and maxed, all armor, all side upgrades by lvl 13, never died a single time.
And for those complaining about the boxing gun... if you are ever using the boxing glove for more than 5s without switching to a drop, you're doing something wrong.

@Suitepee3 If you maxed all weapons by level 4 you're playing the game wrong. STOP replaying the missions over and over and over and over again!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
tooo easy...maxed all weapons by level 4...still an entertaining game, love the originality with bonus weapons 5/5 from me

A range upgrade for the guns would be helpful.
Also, the later levels can be a bit longer, adds more satisfaction to the game.

2 things:
a.- the bay guys remember me to SCP CONTAINMENT BREACH: cool!
b.- WHY PRESS SPACE TO PICK UP? it's a pain in the ***, need to be like all the games alike, just pass over them.

good game give it four for creativity though i wish there were more upgrades you get to a point that there is nothing to spend tech on fast

There should be higher difficulty levels, its just too easy. I only died once, and that was on the final level when enemies could finally take more then a second of bullets from any gun. There should be more upgrades too, as I bought everything a good amount of time before the final level. Also as everyone has said, short range weapons are crap compared to all other guns, though not necessarily so bad that if you pick one up your guaranteed to die, unless ofc your on the final level or fighting a boss. The worse weapons (not including short-range) are probably the grenade launcher and the nail gun. The only probably I see with the Blade Thrower is it runs out of ammo fast compared to other guns. I think the only exception to the short ranged weapons is the Flamethrower, which has decent range for a short ranged weapon, great damage, and ofc splash dmg. Cool game, cant wait for a sequel or w/e you have in store for us.

Tips: 1) Don't do anything with close range guns (2) Don't upgrade main weapon until at least second section (3) Don't get magnet because you max out quickly (4) Upgrade defense all the way as quickly as possible with extra drop buff (5) Don't pick up the random buff ~UNLESS~ you don't have anything besides close range weapons. There are more but I have already told you how to win the game, haha. Peace and Love, people

Also, I would like to be able to remove guns I don't want and to have some awesome little easter egg fun stuff at the end and/or a sandbox/survival mode! Shoot, there is so much you can do with this game. Oh yeah, and funny dialogue! Get rid of the overlap though, please. Just makes the game look less professional and I think this game deserves so much more than a 3.5! Favorited!

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but I think you should put damage and ammo numbers instead of the upgrade dots so we can compare and even a range number so you can have an idea of the distance. Full screen button would be nice although I just zoom my browser anyways. Very awesome game, easy as... well. Very easy. Died once the whole game and still had almost all upgraded by second boss. Maybe keep raising the research price or less money drop. I did buy the short range guns to see them but they are worthless, not much you can do about that though... Overall this game was completely worth the hour and a half to beat it and definitely rate worthy! Thank you for sharing and I hope for a sequel!

Amazing! It took like 6 levels before I saw a random effect that I had already seen. Even after that I never knew what crazy ish would happen when I picked it up. This game is awesome. I love how you can pick a tech tree but the weapons are so awesome you don't even get hit the the Fear of missing out on the other ones. I'm halfway through I already want to play again

I don't understand top comments. Close range weapons make the game a lot more funnier ! I shouldn't have bought the range weapons, lame.

"So, then, I walked backwards in a clockwise circle!" "Dude, you've been saying that for hours." "Oh, right... right... so, then, a gun dropped, and I had to start walking COUNTERCLOCKWISE! Awesome, right?"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the humor doesnt change this from being a generic arena beat-em-up. You cant change or upgrade your default weapon, so killer flaw there.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The upgrades should either cost more or there should be more of them, I had every upgrade, every gun, and every gun upgrade by the time I started the third set of levels
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Having a gun equipped and walking over drops should just automatically increase your ammo. Also, please add a gun preference system, maybe? or an undo all in the upgrade menu! Also, what am I supposed to do with all these extra gems??? Would like to spend them on speed upgrade, resilience, fire rate, weapon range...
Thanks for the input, these are nice ideas! I couldn't add more upgrades because of the workload was increasing too much for this project (drawing different versions of the same thing for different angles was the main reason for this), but I will definitely consider those for a possible sequel or a similar game!

ok, I was expecting some big odd monster in the end, but I got that. all right, all right it's big and odd, but, well, you know what I mean.

It was fun. Game isnt hard enough to bother with avoiding close range weapons. Blade launcher absolutely destroys bosses if you spam click which for some reason breaks its fire rate letting you shoot almost semi auto. Killed the second boss in like 10 seconds that way.

It's pretty good, but I kind of hate that health isn't'isn't automatically picked up when walked over, unlike other items like double damage. I could see how it'd be imperative to automatically pick up weapons, but health is pretty much always needed (especially in later levels.)
Hmm interesting point. I was thinking, if a health pack drops and you accidentaly pick it up when your health is full, you might have to wait too much for the next one when you are nearly dying... But later changes at the design might have this idea invalid because drop count is already pretty high. Thanks for the input!

You people are cowards. Punching enemies to death is how gods do it.
Magnet, Drop+, Rate+, Dam+ and all 4 armor upgrades
LET'S DO THIS SHIT!
