I'd like to see a way to skip to certain levels of the mystery dungeon. There's a certain point at which those first ten levels aren't challenging anymore. And it takes far too long to get to the levels that are challenging, so suddenly the game is more work than play.

The chess board style fighting has virtually no animation and yet it still lags like i'm downloading 3 movies, while watching one, defragging my hard drive, and running several virus / adware scanners. How can it possibly be so slow?

Questions that must be asked.
If playing through as a fighter, why do you get more mage equipment? Reversely, why if playing as a mage do you get more swords and such?
Why do you ALWAYS get hit the next shot after taking a dodge boost potion?
Why do female skeletons have breasts?
Anyone else notice that your character makes a pass at the emissary even if it female? Not judgmental, just an observation.
Why is this place being over run? It has no resources to commit evil deeds with!
Except for farming, what's the point of the mystery dungeon? Isn't 4 or 5 levels of the same enemies enough? Anyone else's eyes start bleeding after killing the same avatar for the fiftieth time?

O_o Why is it so much laggier than Crusade? At least fighting this first mage is... I had no lag troubles whatsoever in Crusade, and this is pretty sluggish... Doubling the battle time almost, and thats after I turned down the quality.

Once again it feels exactly like one of the other games, albeit considerably shorter, slower and unimpressive. It would be nice if the story was longer or at least had something to do after the final encounter besides the sluggish tactical quests. The mystery dungeon could be better if there was a way to skip past some of the early floors which have weak enemies, use the lobby by putting in teleporters for every 10 or so floors? Then you don't have to spend a few hours getting to the floor where you are actually challenged.

I feel this sequel took a couple steps forward, but a few more back. The defense quests are much better than last time and potions are more powerful and therefore more useful. However, like everybody said, the inability to buy crafting items makes gold worthless once you obtain the largest backpack (I find potions often enough to have no need to buy them), making crafting extremely risky. Combat also lags a bit more than the first chapter, possibly due to memory leak issues. I feel like this is a bit of a step down from the first chapter, but it's still alright to play since crafting isn't required to beat the game. 4/5

Well, the cooking skill still exists in the background apparently. drank a potion of learning, and one of the random skillups was 7 points in cooking.

even on low quality, the fighting area seems to slow to a dramatic halt on my new macbook air. no problems with any other games on kongregate. bizzare.

What is up with the lag? I have to shrink this game to the smallest size, and go with low graphics detail to play, and I still have lag.. This is strange, as I can play other graphics intensive games without problem.. (WoW on high graphics, Fallout NV on high graphics, etc) I never lag on other flash games, or the first arkandian.. Maybe it is a problem with the game's processer, or even with flash player.. Either way, I love this game, and would love a chance to play it.. Maybe you can check your coding or graphics to see if there is an error? Thanks alot!

Hey undefined, could you allow us to buy crafting materials? They're kinda scarce & people don't have anything good to spend their money on.

Ok... where to start. First, all the suggestions ppl gave from the last games seem to have been for nothing. I don't see any improvements about the very slow game play, inventory management and the ridiculous hit percentage (I shouldn't miss 3 to 4 times every 20 attacks if I'm at 99%). The story is nice but the levels are really repetitive. The minor improvements done to tactical battles are nice but they make them even slower. 3/5 overall... good game but need much improvements to be a great game.

Since money is pretty much useless once you got the biggest bag (you only buy bags of sending) and resources are insanely hard to come by I think it would be nice to dismantle items for resources instead of selling them. This skill would improve with scavanging

Besides being over-all slower; almost every change to the game seems to have made it worse. The equipment, overall, is far weaker and less varied. The Ascendant/Demonic armor is sub-par, and not being able to replace it is absolutely infuriating. The new system for the Tactical Battles is horrible and requires even more micro-managing than in the last; and the inability to use the hero in it makes it absolutely terrible. The shop has become truly worthless, now that it only offers low-grade equipment; and crafting isn't much better, especially with the lack of random-drop recipes and ability to purchase them in the store. There is very little new content to the game, and several items are purely weakened versions of their Crusade counterparts. The skull/crown based quest icons (And the 'refresh' symbol.) are far less intuitive than the former systems; and the different dungeon icons just make the map screen look tacky. Call me a pessimist, but this game pales in comparison to Crusade.

I am quite well into playing Explorer at the moment, and have finished Crusade. This is definitely some degrees inferior to both of those which I find a strange phenomenon.

I just fought my way through the mystery dungeon. I thought it would end on the 25th level, but, Surprise! stairs down! So I happily activated them and got rewarded with a glitch. It just cycled between tileset pieces showing them all over the screen, while I couldn't move. Anti-climatic? Or is it supposed to be like that?

Wow... I think this game is actually worse than the first one, which I enjoyed. All the stuff that was good was changed and none of the bad stuff was fixed. Disappointing game. And what happened to all those goodies we were promised in the first one? Remember the in-game achievements? *Sigh*

Really needs a comparison box to spring up whenever looking at replacing an existing item with a new one. I spend 75% of the game comparing the benefits of one item against another while trying to equip myself and my army. Slows the game down too much.

So, finished the game today...got my carrot. Weeee? Not really, the preceding games were far superior. The hit percentages are waaaaaay off. This makes old school Zelda seem like a cakewalk. OCD got me through! I found the best weapon for me about 12 minutes in. Much later in the game found a MUCH better melee weapon that would have taken me 2 weeks to level up... I just think there are a few calculations messed up.

This random combat style pisses me the hell off. I shouldn't miss over and over with 95%. And the damned ascended are too OP. I literally used a full bag of the best potions on the archer.

Is the whole game supposed to look like it's taking place underwater and in slow motion? The tactics sections in particular happen agonizingly slowly. Speeding up the animations to about 300-400% would be worth another star on the rating.

in the menu i accidently clicked a race before mousing over for the tooltip. there was no back button so i had to refresh the page... think you could fix that and maybe on other pages where there is no back button?

So we have a crew of independent people, and you. I'm not sure why i cant go and fight with my crew in the open battles

@Jonyol The damage system is actually fairly widely used. A 2d6 means you roll two six sided dice and that is the damage you get. You could have used google for that.

I really wanted to like this game and I did at first but my opinion of it fell as I continued playing. As others have mentioned it lacks a way to really do any long term crafting and the hit % is highly inaccurate. The items that drop in the 5 star dungeons are crap compared to what you need to deal with the end monsters and boss. The only way to beat this game is to grind your skills in the repeatable dungeons until you can face the final boss. That's quite poor game play balance I'm afraid. The game could be very good but lacks polish.

this botd is.. highly annoying. 3 hours and not a single artifact. no clues on how the heck to even get one, can't get to wiki, and the game itself is pissing me off
someone want to tell me how the heck i still miss 7 out of 10 attacks with a freaking 85% attack?? the game would be ok if some time was taken to fix things
