Lovely game, despite having a few bugs, it may well be more fun than the actual Protector series in my opinion! Challenging enough too. And no, it's not at all impossible - change skills and spells or try another map first to get new items. Bit of luck in getting good items does tend to matter a lot in many builds, I find that a bit of a shame. Also, I'd love a few longer maps. As for the strongest units: a few mages with the Ice Shard, Archmage Robes and the +10% splash/slow/degrade item (or something similar) would probably be invincible: 105% slow, area of effect, so enemies won't get past it (in fact, they'll be walking backwards). Then again, it takes a while before you can even set one of those combo's up.

just a suggestion maybe you could make it that u can drag and click to select bunchs of people and then make like 8 people buy w/e armor and w/e weapon because i for one and sick of going click click click click click click click over and over for weapons and armor + if u agree

The inability to harvest multiple sites at once defies logic. It should be a no-brainer that each unit should harvest whatever's in range as long as no enemies are near, but the actual mechanic is silly and takes some adjusting just because of how counterintuitive and silly it is.

forge nothing but items that add +mana. have every unit leeching mana. eventually you will be earning 1000 or so mana every few seconds from all of the draining. at that point you keep hammering the 2x gold spell. press it over and over because it stacks with itself. once: 2x gold. twice: 4x gold. three times: 8x gold. then 16, 32, 64, 128 ... etc. if you manage to cast the spell 20 times then every unit that was originally worth 1 gold will now be worth 1,048,576 gold. that's how you get the high scores.
cheers.

Good game except for the difficulty of harvesting resources vs. attacking mobs. A few minor adjustments could make this a great game.

Like the game, but I just wish I could "Love" it... I am get quite frustrated when I can't pass a part because the wave is like 80 creatures long and I need to harvest at the same time because I don't have enough units out to defend; On top of that, I can't back-track to previous maps to get myself stronger. Overall, the game is pretty good.

For all complaining game is too hard, I got stuck too until I saw that there was a level where all enemies were weak against fire. After noticing it I beat the level on the first try.
Harvesting is part of the game, you can't beat harder levels without mastering it.
Also, armor has an important role. Armored monsters make lots of turrets useless, but are easy if you have a few powerful turrets.

There's no need to get XP from replaying, and I'm glad you don't. The previous games had a bit too much grinding for my taste, and encouraged you to play a level you knew you could beat over and over to get an advantage. With this version, you can't just beat levels by investing hours earning points, you have to actually tailor your skills, attempt new strategies, and try different levels to see which ones you CAN beat.

I concur with the top comments that this game didn't quite facilitate our expectations. You say 'simpler', but game has advanced targeting / multi-tasking need between harvest and battle / tougher placing of units / tougher enemies. Not to mention no way to grind for better stuff than to beat levels, which become exponentially harder. The tutorial and tips are written in kid lingo, but doesn't match game difficulty. 3/5 imo.

Do I have to craft weapons per individual unit in the game, or can I group dress them under Known blueprints? I would LOVE to know this

The difficulty curve I this game is atrocious. Also, it needs the ability to auto-target monsters over resources so I don't have to keep toggling it. A faster way to upgrade units would be nice too.

Most of the damage I do mid-game comes from the "Wild Warhammer". I'd call it overpowered, but then the game would be way too hard.

I gave a mage an Ice-Shard (80% slow), a Strap-On-Beard (20% slow) and Slowing gem (20% slow). This resulted in the mobs walking backwards, moonwalking towards the edge of the map. XD

Would it be possible to allow playing this in low quality? This is perfect for playing while travelling and waiting for connections, but it strains netbooks and 3G connections quite a bit... Or, even better, make an iphone version of this! You've finally hit the right "tone" for a casual game :)

Could use some class balancing. Warriors cost way too much in terms of both resources and souls later in the game, the high damage doesnt make up for the limited range combined with high costs. Mages are nice, situationally. Though Im a bit curious how effects work - a mob hit with slow twice, will it stack or will one overwrite the other? And splashing effects... is the effect dumbed down to the splash amount? ie 80% freeze splashing for 10% only slows enemies for 8%? Seems to be how it works =/

Finally. protector gets a graphic change. I like this much much better and wish the developers would run with this game type and make sequels, expansions, etc. Definitely going in the right direction!

Forgot to include this in my prior comment: The new artwork and 2D tiling system are much more appealing than previous Protector games' visuals in my opinion. And I hope to see more of this style. These visuals and the suggestions to include some of the features from other Protector games (while keeping it simplified) would make a sequel to this spin-off a masterpiece game.

Yes, this game is hard. But after just scraping through a hard level you get good items and a skill point. that makes it slightly easier to do the next level. which will again be hard but you'll get by by the skin of your teeth. It's good to have that relief. However. Not being able to start with any souls get make the first wave or 2 a bit hairy. Maybe add a skill point section that gives you 2 souls per level. not game breaking but makes it so you could upgrade at least one little guy first.

Wow, the life leech ability, especially with the Wizard's Bow turned the sudden death matches into regular matches. I find myself with over 200 lives every time...

The classes are not well balanced. Rangers seem to be the only class that are effective, and many levels can be beaten using only Rangers. Warriors attack to slowly to be effective in almost every circumstance.

Yes, overall the best unit is archers...........however mages are important when there are a lot of waves immune to physical and fire.............the warriors are amazing once the Warmahher is unlocked, and any time they can be places where they will hit most enemies twice with the mace. also great for high armor units because of their high damage....................this game requires different thinknig than the original protector games to succeed. the mana skill is very important, so is the reduced unit cost. This game seems to be a direct response to cursed treasure. Lets hope the people who made that game take up the challenge and make an even more intricate TD game and so on.............

I'm getting a bug where the tooltip displayed when I hover over an item does not disappear when I scroll my mouse away from the item. Please post a fix because it can get really annoying and hard to see the field

The dress up page just makes you see what they WOULD look like... to equip the stuff u have to press the character in the map.. and forge them like the construct the button under the wep and armor.

Light-heated? Yes. Simple? No!
This is a fantastic game for people with a lot of tower defence gaming experience, seeking a real challenge. The removal of the character building element, replaced with level by level skill customization, makes for a really interesting game, as does resource production.
A unique game which bring out elements I havn't seen in tower defence ever. 10/10

Archers are the best unit by far. Between their range, pierce and attack speed there is little reason to invest in warriors or magi. The balance is even more skewed once you gain access to things like the field bow and the 6 range 50 pierce bow. Archers also make the best harvesters since they can usually still cover a road and harvest with their range.

I've really enjoyed Little Protectors so far. I like the balance of having to collect resources and fight the enemy. It does involve a different strategy element than the other Protector games which can take some getting used to.
You can switch on or off whether units should gather resources. If you place all your fighters near the end of the path you have more time for resource gathering, especially in the early levels. In the later levels, when you have access to resource-gathering archers it becomes a lot easier.
The first scarcity map I had to leave until I'd unlocked the world since it was difficult without the resource-gathering archers.

Quite hard in the beginning, then much easier.
Don't forget to reallocate your skill points depending on the map.
Mana battery is a very good skill for all purposes when you have some good spells (some of them are very powerful)

This is supposed to be simplified? Wow, this one really seems overly complicated to me with all the harvesting and what not. If you want to simplify, then simplify. I love your other protector games, but this one needs something added or removed. It seems stuck between simple and complex.

I wish the achievements gave you little buffs. Other than that, good fun game, resource gathering is kind of annoying.
