:-( Is it me or is it realy so boring to play the same maps endless again and again to earn some needed exp and gold, only to win some more maps...

Also after completing the game, there is no point to continue on a leveling anyone up. Who cares about getting a better score on each map, that's very boring.
Why not increase the difficulty and allow people to go through the game again on Hard Difficulty (monsters have more HP and stuff). Keeping your heroes and making it important to have high level heroes in order to beat the maps.

I agree with Pontos. If you can get the heroes to have a bigger impact earlier, the player will "bond" with them more and want to keep around one that has helped them through the beginning stages. I imagine that part of the game could be more RPG-like with skill trees and such for their experience levels.

STRANGE CIRCLE - put one warrior near the creatures' entrance, and later anoter one in the high right corner. Upgrade to cold - criticals - generalism - archer - damage ...and start when you have lot of gold to put other warriors in the free paves and level up when you need.

Just finished playing through Protector III. I love the series, the original Protector is the reason I join Kongregate. I did enjoy the 3rd version of this game and it does have good potential, but there are some balance Issues that need to be fixed in order to make the game better.
The Whole point of PIII is the addition of the heroes but, they are not implemented well. They are too weak, it takes too long to level them up and you cannot afford them until late in the game. Heroes need to be more involved in the earlier stages of the game so you can level them up throughout the game.
As Heroes Level up their associated skills should get stronger not just their base damage. They are quite boring right now. It would be much more interesting if you got to choose the skills the Hero got after each level (Just like the regular Units do in the Game).
More Exp needs to be awarded for the Skills, I just finished the game and I only have 4/80 possible skills.
Thanks
Pontos

I would add a Move or Sell command, or at least an Undo command when you place a wizard or a warrior on the wrong tile, or when you pick the wrong upgrade. There isn't any way to reset experience, also : this is missing.

Does the highest level of a hero is ten? I can't level up my hero from LV10 to LV11. No level up button even I have enough EXP and gold.

Anyone else got all the awards? hehe :D

Once you grasp the concept that, unlike what one would usually expect, building more units is more efficient than having only a few and maxing them out, the game becomes quite easy.

love the series, but once again finished the whole thing almost without needing/using any of the extras/skills. just read through what's coming and pick dexters and the right mages. strangely, on 80% of the boards if you went with blue mages only you'd win easily. don't know if that was intentional or not.
love TD games, though Desktop is still superior. thought this latest protector had a lot of skill building to add but completed the game long before most of that came into play. not that it needs to be longer though, just odd. I'll reload once badges appear.

lol. 'armour is spelt with a u'! so true, buddy. great game!! 4/5, would be 5/5 but gold and exp is so hard to get early on!

I love the inside joke. I found a HNK reference in this game or a bug that coincides with something. If you get a unit named Toki. It will 1 hit kill almost anything (except bosses)

Desert Pass is good for grinding the poison upgrade awards, if you do it right you can train 30-40 poison mages per visit (depending what other awards and skills you have).

I didnt know this at first, but if you want, you can put down a Hero as your first unit and go into negative money, it's the easiest way to get the Hero's only Badge. just use a fire Mage Hero on the first level.

just beat vermillion bridge. at the end of the level i had a energy tactician at the tip of the bottom paved areas, a fire archer on the bridge, and a energy rogue at the tip of the top paved areas. you have to level up your guys accordingly. try to get the warrior near the end leveled up first, but dont ignore your other guys since you can get overwhelmed if you upgrade the wrong guy. this map takes a lot of trial and error.

I noticed that too. Suddenly the second unit I placed was doing massive amounts of damage, so I was cleaning out maps with a single level 10 unit.

Just to clarify, I have a Fire mage right now that says it's doing 24 damage and it's taking out boss sprites that have 500+ hp in one hit...

Uh, I hope you guys realize that after you get the +1 base damage (using few units in a map), a mage can beat even the hardest map...one mage. Give him quickspell and that's it. I think it's bugged or something, but I like it.

brand// did you finish one round with paving like i said? cause by racking, award aint earned. have to trigger once and award also by winning the stage.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i can't get architect award even though i've paved 60 things.. or is there a difference between paving and paving over if so tell me whats the diff
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
btw, after you rack up stastics, you have to beat game doing atleast one of those in some where. (so i pave 19 times in my little forest, then pave once in tutorial map, easily beat with 50gold waste, and now i got award.)
