Great expension, but you still can't know what new units do untill you used em. A mouse over disciption of unit capabilities such as splash, would be handy.

Few things you might want to consider changing: (1) Provide some indicator of which missions are complete and which aren't. (2) In the home base, provide a comparison between heroes so you can see if its worth hiring new ones without having to go back and forth. (3) Give new heroes serious upgrades or nerf the original heroes. There isn't enough of an incentive to buy new heroes after the old ones are upgraded unless you want to grind them up again.

This is getting old as the protector series is very repetitive. If you don't make protector 5 an epic game, go castrate yourself.

Seriously, Defender Jamison of The Protectorate has the Patrolman unit. Range of three, upgrades are consecration and air unit bonus. Once I got him, I have used nothing else. If Fire is a strength of a unit, I just use Consecrate as the first upgrade. I've put all upgrade points into Ranged units for both player and Hero skills. Has a range of 3, excellent base damage, and rapid fire rate. He looks to be enough to beat every board single-handedly.

A way to automatically sort items by traits would be very nice, or maybe different catagories. It's a pain in the butt to have to go through all of them to find one specific item.

@Guolin: True, although he is the best melee afaik, and there is the talent that requires only melee units (easy enough to do on a 5 wave map).
Magiwizard is meh, Archwizard is okay for the range. Imo range isn't a huge issue once you get to 37 Magic or Sword, its pretty much instakills even with no upgrades. I haven't tried the other magic chars yet, but I think Chaos Mage and Chaos Warlock have better stats (due to faster attack speed)

ive played a few of the other protector games but none of them keep me this interested as this one, like the heros, stats, quests, over all great game 5/5

@Moloto_Matt: Melee units are really lackluster compared to ranged units. If you try to use melee units, then you'll need at least a few ranged units for anti-flying, and even a few probably won't cut it. Focusing on only ranged units allows for potentially even greater damage, due to Protector's experience mechanic. Also, melee units tend to have crap range (I don't think I've even seen a single melee unit with a range higher than 1), again severely weakening it due to both experience mechanic and getting the best bang for your buck. I run a pure-Magi combination (i.e. 3 Magi heroes) and have reached max reputation with Magi and Arkandia, so I'm not some random noob that doesn't know what he's talking about.

I have never liked the Protector line of TD games. I tried this thinking there may be something new to get my attention, but alas, it was same of the more. I'm sure it's not a bad game, just not my taste.

Please, please, please for all that is holy port this to the iOS system. This is the best TD I have ever played and I need a good time killer on iPhone, Dungeon Defenders aside.

@DubiousMerit Melee units are not worthless, try -all- units before saying that. Including the Hillhome footman and Huscarl. Melee units do more damage overall, while not being able to attack flying units, its the opposite for (most) ranged units.

I've played i think it was 3, is this worth playing? i didn't understand it and italways is on th top Adventure/RPG list, so i guess it has to be good

Finding this to be incredibly easy. Melee units are worthless. A Ranger has consecrate, so it can do damage even against strong/absorbing enemies. Pump up the ranged stat above 20 and every screen is a breeze.

This game does seem very good. I might have played it, but I think that it has tacked up on too much... for lack of a better word, crap. You have all these skills and different choices, and I'm not saying variety isn't a good thing. Just too complicated for me to have fun with.

I thought elemental switches were removed from items ? the book of energy in the council store still says switch to energy

Too easy, just get a mage of each element type, pump your magic stat, get the 6 magic, 6 elemental hat x 3 from the council, place archwizards everywhere you can and win the game....no challenge, nothing will get past, no strategy required other than having 2 types of elements on the field when there are absorb mobs....by the end my archwizards were going 600+ damage to mobs that were "strong" against their element type.

@rikilord The "leadership" player skill allows you to hire one hero per leadership point. The "leadership" hero skill reduces the cost to upgrade that hero's units by 2% per leadership point.

These games are amazing.. I only wonder ONE thing. How do they get those monsters to march down a road while hitting them with multiple weapons? I mean, what the heck? 5/5

Alright, I like the game, but it hasn't changed very much at all... I was expecting new content, which really isn't what I'm getting. The biggest problem I have with this game is leveling up the units... it's simply stupid. There is practically no difference between units leveling up... advanced are slightly better but the scheme for mages, rangers, and melee are all the same. 2/5 for being a good game but being exactly the same as the previous protector games.

There is some sort of bug. I left the game open for a bit an then my shockwave plugin crashed. After that my save data for the game disappeared.

I think the Protectopedia could use some updating. It doesnt explain what the inflictions do. For the life of me, I just want to know what consecration does, but its not in the pedia!!!
