All the flags on the map can be very chaotic. It would be nice if you could toggle ON/OFF certain types of quests like normal/storyline, complete/incomplete, different factions and levels with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 waves

It'd be fantastic if, at the very least, there was a "Filter completed quests" button. I've already beaten the map, I don't care to go back to it for now. I don't need three dozen extra flags on my map right now. It gets REALLY cluttered.

Big fan of undefined games, but they all lack proper inventory organization. This is a feature that is badly needed when your inventory starts to expand dramatically.

Thanks for pointing out my dumb Kong banner placement on the map screen. Egg on my face!
Just to clear up a couple of things:
Old saves aren't compatible because several adjustments were made that would have been broken by them. (Most notably, element change as an item property no longer exists)
The reason for releasing as a stand-alone expansion is simply because if I just updated the old file it would break all saves and 99% of people would never know it was updated... Not to win a competition. (lol)
4.5 is also a stop-gap release prior to Protector 5 since number 5 won't be finished for quite a while. But trust me, it's going to be *insanely* epic and well worth the wait. Legends chapter 2 is still being worked on, don't worry!
Hope everyone enjoys the new campaigns!

Haha, look under your player stats on the map screen- total time played is labeled - "Time Wasted" Brilliant XD 5/5 Great game.

It would be good if the owned items can be sorted, for example start the list with +leadership, start with +lives ... because when you have 4-5 pages of items it is a little bit tough.

If anyone sees this i spent like an hour on it following directions. this is the link to get past that gameshell issue :3 supernova://play/?swfurl=http://chat.kongregate.com/gamez/0010/9597/live/protector-4point5_Secure.swf?kongregate_game_version=1302824707

I find that I rarely use my melee units due to their limited range. If there was a was to "un-pave" some of the enemy's roads in order to force them to funnel past my limited-range units, I would probably use them more often.

Sometimes, units that have the ability to go "berserk" stay in that mode forever. This has happened many times with my Fire Cultists.

Seriously, Defender Jamison of The Protectorate has the Patrolman unit. Range of three, upgrades are consecration and air unit bonus. Once I got him, I have used nothing else. If Fire is a strength of a unit, I just use Consecrate as the first upgrade. I've put all upgrade points into Ranged units for both player and Hero skills. Has a range of 3, excellent base damage, and rapid fire rate. He looks to be enough to beat every board single-handedly.

Serious observation for the author: Flying units are immune to melee heroes, and they are on nearly every map. There does not seem to be any other common unit type similar to this. Absorbers are essentially immune to an element, but they are relatively rare. My point is, I have stopped having heroes with melee attacks altogether and I'd wager I'm not the only one. Game balance suggests that either flying units should be downgraded a bit (maybe a 50% miss chance instead of total immunity) or similar unit types exist for magic and ranged character types. Anyway, I'm a fan of the series and can't wait to see the next one, I haven't seen much added to 4.5 but it's still fun. TTFN

lil prince consecration makes that unit do more damage if the enemy is resistant to their element. especially useful on absorb enemies
berserk they attack faster and do more damage when it triggers.

Whatever happened to Undefined games? I loved everything he made, especially the RPGs, but then they (he?) just vanished. Any clues?

To those who have finished the game: is it worth raising your Wisdom score to 20 as soon as you can, or is it a complete waste of skill points?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@nefenjo On the map, click a Storyline flag. One the left of the screen will be a "offered by" message. You are looking for the one that says "Legion of Tyria" under that. (It's the blue flags). if you can't finish one, you can replay others until you get stronger...

hero memory wipers are bugged. they just destroy every skill a hero has, and raise its first level cost to 100 instead of 50.

One of the things I like about this game compared to other Tower Defense games is that there aren't any special powers, like how most TDs give you meteors or bombs or whatever to get you out of trouble every x seconds. This game isn't like that. It's pure tactics. ^^ I love it.

A great improvement on Protector 4, but we would appreciate a faster fast forward button, stages still take a bit too long ;) Other than that this game gets a 5/5, good work.

You can get items that switch your heroes element via the Explorer's Camp. Hire Jones, and hope you get lucky. Currently these items still work, however it may be a bug based on undefined's (the developer) previous comment.

It is kind of sad to see how games almost a decade ago has more novelty and originality than games these days, which are replication of one another with better or worse graphics and perhaps cracked-up maths too. Misses those days when games were about putting your personal ideas into being and sharing them with the world.

If anyone else is like me, and wants to have an idea of what they'll get before using the 'basic authority' and 'advanced authority' items in order to customize their heroes, I've created a spreadsheet that more easily shows this data. All credit to Rykoffe's post in the forums (Complete Unit List) which has far more detail, I've just condensed the information most important to me for at-a-glance, being mostly familiar with the units: Base Damage, Range, and what specials.

The inventory becomes very unwieldy after a while, it would be good if you could search by modifiers such as ranged combat, logistics etc and see immediately which item you have has the best stats for your needs.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A way to automatically sort items by traits would be very nice, or maybe different catagories. It's a pain in the butt to have to go through all of them to find one specific item.

Ah, name generator. I always wanted to watch Conan the Barbarian fight alongside Gandalf. Granted, Gandalf is an archer, but still.

If your goal is to remove all the element switching equipable items you need to edit what the stores sell and what artifacts Arkandia Jones can find I just got a cold switch artifact from him

Being able to rearrange heros and inventory would be nice. Other then that...it's all good fun can't wait for 5.0. =D
