Medium badge: Win 5 maps so you have 5 skill points.
Get Mage empowerment, the first scout, and the first 3 +lives skills. This will give you 9 lives to work with.
Start off with 4-8 mages and make them poison. Then make the center 2 lines warriors and make them energy. Special mages to debuff/infect, and warriors armor pierce. I finished with 3 lives left this was gligas and this is for anyone that needs the medium badge... really works

Is there some sort of invisible experience mechanic that isn't preserved across sessions? I've noticed that if I play through a few maps my units will start one-shotting enemies at the beginning of a new map and in general appear to be doing WAY more damage than they should. I quit and come back, same map, SAME EXACT SKILLS, but what was a one-hit kill now takes three hits.

I like the improvements made. To be honest I'm not a large fan of your games, but this was a very nice improvement, I just wish you told us exactly what changes with an upgrade (like how much dmg you get for upgrading the damage spec), like done in the first one. Overall good, I do wish there was a guide, there's so many options :P
5/5

big tip!!!: start at back and work yer way up so when they gat through the main defense at top or middle you have a stronger defense as a backup plan

There's one thing wrong with this game. Since exp is based on the damage you deal to creeps, specialists\inflictors level up MUCH slower than generalists, who hit stronger, then level up/gain exp even FASTER.

CoolTapes- i color code my men anyway, i make poisons infectors, colds slows, etc. unless all the enemies are weak to the same element.
kluseritok- upgrade the generall skill that gis more lifes, and then upgrade freocity. fill all spaces with warriors than upgrade like this: poison, consecration, generalist, tactician, and (if any of ur men get this far) generalist again.
i beat the forest with this. if you got any extra skill points, put em in poison dexers and scouts.
as for the game 4.9/5 or so

Awesome medium badge. by far my favorite level in the game. a very nice improvement to the first protector. i also really liked how you made the leveling in this one.

I dunno... I liked it better when the secondary effects were conveniently colour-coded along with the elements. You could just quickly scan the screen with your eyeball and see how much poison, slow etc you had out there. Now that any colour guy can have any effect, you have to click on each guy to see what he's doing. It's great to offer extra customization like that, but it would be way easier to play if you could see the effects at a glance in addition to colour. 3/5

for every1 whos saying that different colors should have certain powers the colors are for the resistances and weaknesses not the power the fact that u can add a power to any1 makes it even funner

@Fanedeed
Have you ever played Ultima online?
The mages are simple mages in robes (Or I suspect shrouds of death...) and the mobs... I haven't seen any ratmen in UO but I sure have seen skeletons...
The spells are all based on the fireball sprites...
But really nice idea :D

not a fan, if i was a bad guy in this game i would yell "hey dont walk on the path! we get killed when we walk on the path... do not loop around, no matter what you do"...

Dude! You just completed the Gruesome Death achievement in Protector: Reclaiming the Throne and won the Gruesome Death badge and 5 points!

Although I'm not a big fan of this game, the extra tweeks done for this game are definitely an improvement over the first game. Good job.

It might be interesting if different mages had different stats with the secondary skills. Like the fire mage doing less infect damage over a longer period of time as compared to the poison mage.

Good Game all around, better than the first, Only a couple of tweaks I think. The Quickspell is much weaker than than the destructor and inflictor, so its almost worthless, and the rogue is not near as good as the tactician or the archer. I think if they were buffed up a bit the strategy would evolve even more.

A few little changes like making poison the only one who can infect, maybe ice only ones who can slow, energy for debuf and fire for cripple or something would make the mages far more tactical
