When the rocket launcher soldier is given a free grenade, it is not possible to take the grenade from him. A message comes up saying he has no grenade.

The only thing I hate is the top of the screen is constantly blocked from view by the sentences that pop up, those sentences should be down the bottom of the screen.

dude fix your game all these dumbass .tv and .net and .com sites are trying to load and i just want to play the game!

The M1 Carbine is ridiculous in the hands of good soldiers. So many rounds, such good rate of fire, and reliable accuracy. Definitely worth the -2 TP to upgrade.

Tip: before giving orders to move your men at the start of a new game, pause. Then give the orders, and then unpause. That way, you don't lose any time between giving soldiers orders.

max level Spec-Ops: "Oh look, an infiltrator in our rear line just in the middle of our soldiers. I'd better throw him a grenade" -_-

The only time I could say truly hated this game with all my heart was when I tried to do the paratrooper challenge and all the air borne guys died on impact for an instant loss.

when a bunker you built decides to teleport itself somewhere else on the field and an incoming grenade wipes out the troops in your exposed trench

when your officer-level half-track equipped with AT gun, with 100 exp and 105 kills fires underneath itself and kills itself in one shot...

That moment when my highest round achieved was thanks to making countless Frenchies and sending them to the front lines...

Advice-wise... You'll want to get upgrades early, as early as possible. TP is a limited resource, so spend them as soon as you can. Get a medic early, then wander around healing up your squad. Combat Engineers save lives, too - not only with their ability to build trenches but with their starting weapon. A jeep can be helpful for both additional firepower AND a way to block off your men. You'll want to make sure your guys are surrounded on all sides by permanent cover - trenches, wire, jeeps, whatever. Stick your support troops (officers, engineers) in a bunker unless you're using them.

alternatively, for hard badge you could just go all spec ops build them a trench on the top (so grenades doesn't hurt them), give them grenades a medic and use heroism if they get in danger. watch out for frendly fire with the nades and expect that flamers will kill a few, but they get the job done. don't get more than six soldiers (you can retreat the engineer after the trenches/sandbags are done).

use medic for easy badge (it runs fast, doesn't stop for shooting). for the other two badges put a machinegunner inside a bunker in a trench and sandbags, and he should be the closest to the appearing enemies to draw fire. you can try to use two of them, but make sure they get experience. if it doesn't happen the natural way, then have an officer promote them until they get two promotions, after that they gain the 80 rest xp for themselves. don't have more than six units at any point at the bottom or top half of the screen or you will be decimated by artillery. you can try to move the gunners over the the half line and use camo nets to hide those extra soldiers. use engineer to place tank mines to blow up tanks or other vehicles that scares you.

Contrapoint a few comments down from me got overrun by the stealth units. This is the Unfair Squad Game and with most of your guys dead no one was alive to see them, so they got the incursions needed to beat him. This game is literally impossible to win. Your only hope is to hold out for as many waves as you can, move up to the top on occasion to get the next battlefield screen if you can, but otherwise you're supposed to get mad and frustrated. Surviving 50 waves is doable - I've got the badge - but prepare to get your knickers in a twist getting there. It took me.... man, years ago, but I think it was something like 38 tries. I've no advice because the game is a crap shoot as to what you're up against each time around.

Mmm'kay. I would like to know how I got over-ran when I only had 1 incursion, and even though most of my guys just got slaughtered in an instant, I was sending out another 4 point gunner. Instant loss? I think not. Hideous amount of lag and unresponsive controls too. Good game this ain't.

As someone not familiar with squad games. This game seems to have a pretty steep learning curve. And yes, I'm here for the badge of the day.

this game doesn't get bad comments because it's old. it gets bad comments because it's defective. i should've have to play it over again because stats won't track right and i didn't think i'd have to snap a screenshot for the easy badge. and i was over halfway to medium badge too. it's also dreadfully overdone and needlessly complex, with no progression curve as far as learning how to play. yes, that's kinda how it was done back in the 70's and early 80's, but that's not what we expect of games now. try again.
