The general "one size fits all" strategy to get 4 stars on any given level is to fire the tennis ball at an angle so it hits wood, bounces off a surface and hits the already damaged wood a second time in one shot. Try it out on level 1-2. Line the camera up level with the ground, facing Toshi's back, so you can just barely see wood peeking out from behind the stone. Fire at the wood. One shot, two hits, four stars.

There is a bug where you can't get any higher than 142 even when improving upon a past score. Consequently, everything above 142 is hacked.

Wondering how to get 130 stars when there are only 40 levels?
You can get bonus starts fairly easily on levels: 1-2, 1-3, 1-6, 1-8, 1-9, 1-12, 2-3, 2-4, 2-8, 2-10, 2-11, 2-18, 2-20 for 133 stars total. You do this by finding the sweet spots to break multiple wooden blocks at once (target the seams) or break a wooden block with just one ball (by hitting the block and ricocheting the ball off another block to hit the wooden block twice) so that you beat the level with less balls than par.

Levels in which it is possible to get ***+ on: 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 12, 23, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 37, 38, 40. Rate this comment up for others to see. NOTE: It is impossible to get the hard badge without at least 10 ***+ ratings, and the rest within par.

In order to get the 130 stars, you have to get under par on some levels. This counts for an extra star. The levels this is possible on are: 2,3,6,7,8,9,10,12 on Pack 1, and 8, 11 on Pack 2. + so others can see this please.

for those who want the hard badge: look for breaking the wood by just 1 ball by rebounding it with another wall(wood,metal...) and you can easy get + in level 2,3,6,10,12 in stage 1 and 1,3,8,9,10 in stage 2 so with 40 stage 3 star and you got 130 stars (if you don't use hint that's it)

The best way to complete levels under par is hit a wooden block in a side its near to any other part, usually concrete. The ball will hit the block, the concrete, and return to the block, breaking it in 1 shot instead of 2. Most of my under par were doing it, and I got 140 stars. Levels I have completed under par: Pack 1 - 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 20; Pack 2 - 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20. Another tip, in levels like 2-1 and 2-12, u need parts get speed, so give them 2 or 3 shots instantly for great acceleration. Give these tips a "+" :O)

Awesome game! The easiest way of achieving the hard badge was, according to me, get 3 stars on all levels and 3+ on 10 of them. Here's the levels I found easiest to get a + rating on: 1.2, 1.3, 1.6, 1.8, 1.10, 2.3, 2.9, 2.11, 2.13, 2.20. There are probably more than that, but I stopped looking once I'd gotten 130 stars. Good luck.

With proper timing, it's possible to throw a ball just before the game considers the level complete and drown/kill Toshi after "saving" her.

So I can move multi-ton stone blocks and kill human beings merely by throwing tennis balls?

don't forget to try for ricochet shots on wood targets to get two hits to break it in one shot for those easy 3+'s I never used a single hint you don't need one, it's easy just have to get your hits justtttt righttt... 40 levels * 3 = 120 so you need 10 3+'s for the badge

You can get 3 star + on lvl 1-2 / 1-3 / 1-6 / 1-7 / 1-8 / 1-9 / 1-10 / 1-12 / 1-20 / 2-1 / 2-3 / 2-4 / 2-8 / 2-9 / 2-10 / 2-11 / 2-13 / 2-17 / 2-18 / 2-19 / 2-20. Those are the one I did. pretty sure you can get 2-12 and 1-13 with luck.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For the hard badge, you can get 120 stars on the 40 levels by getting 3 stars on each level, but besides that on every level you can get an extra star by winning with less shots than the minimum, so you have to do that on 10 levels to reach 130 stars. Protip: this is impossible with 1 shot levels ;)

Tip to getting extra stars, shoot the wood so the ball bounces off the wood onto a wall and then back into the wood, that way you break wood with only 1 ball. In levels with multiple woods together, shoot the point where the wood touches and you will hit them both, saving you 2 balls.

Really fun game for as long as it lasts with nice graphics and atmosphere 5/5. Its not really hard but some levels might require trial and error (1-20). Getting the hard badge aint really hard either, just a little bit of patience on some levels. I finished the normal 2 packs with total of 139 stars. and just as EPR89 mentioned, try rebound shots as much as you can since that can easily give you the 4th bonus star on some levels.
