“I don’t know mate… I think this is the developer’s attempt at a tutorial for those who are new to the series…” How very apt for a theatre-themed case to start with someone breaking the 4th wall!

I've loved this series but I'd recommend a small fix for this game. Before identifying the footsteps, please make it possible to unmute the audio. I got lucky on my guess but I'd much rather have had the chance to actually hear it. Otherwise, outstanding game as usual and keep up the great work Vasantj!

A lot better than the other ones. The script is good, and the following of clues is also well made. The plot is not making any sense though. Ada should only remember one sound, not two. I knew already that the one from Board would be lighter, it does not make him the killer. Also, it does not make too much sense that the writer would try to diminish the sound, but leave a more obvious clue when he falls. And that is the last problem, Ada could not see it, she could only hear the play, so that memory scene is not convincing. So the actual plots need a bit more work, because it is guess work most of the time.

@DeiOnniWyn: nobody turned the body. The I and II act were described by people who did not see the play or could not pay attention to small details, so they filled them from previous plays and rehearsals. Only the III act was described by an actual witness.
@Fairbanksls: well, the quality of graphics or coding was never the thing that people praised in those games. It was always about the plot, dialogs and mystery. Whether it suits you or not, is obviously up to you.

I kinda got this case albeit after some guessing. Just one question. Since Decker died before Act 1, how was his corpse pointing in a different direction in Act 3? Basically, who turned the body in he was dead?

wow, I always play muted games on kongregate, and then the game just goes like "HERE, LISTEN TO THIS, BUT IF YOU MUTED IT, JUST KNOW THAT YOU CAN'T ACCESS THE OPTIONS MENU TO LISTEN TO THE FOOTSTEPS", I had 50% chance to get it right, and I got it, but, others may not, consider fixing it

It seems like most people on this site don't realize this series was created with RPGMaker MV using the least amount of effort. The creator doesn't use any original sprites, barely has a working knowledge of variables and switches and as far as I can tell doesn't even use the built-in script system. So basically, no work in the sprites or chipsets, a minimum of work in events, switches, and variables, and on top of it, he can't even spell anything properly. I can see people giving this game a high rating if they're under the impression that the creator built it from the ground up but he has done next to nothing to make these games. If it was a from scratch flash game, three, maybe three and a half stars. As an RPGMaker MV game, half a star at best.

One of VasantJ's finest works thus far, and representative of the time spent. Releases have been chaotic in timing, but the quality is still there. Keep in mind that the Medieval Cop Universe is less of a game in the traditional sense and more of story telling through a puzzle game, much like Ace Attorney.

Surprisingly well written. As if the game author wrote themself into the game of a mystery, as a playwright, writing himself into a play of a mystery... like layers of inception type stuff... With a narrative and characters like that, game mechanics are less important. Well done.

I started off thinking this series was "meh" because of the childish humor and awkward battle structure, but the story has really pulled me in. Top notch stuff. Can't wait for the next installment!

Love the game, and always have a great time playing. However, I can never get any of these games to work on Safari, so 3/5. If VasantJ fixes the problem, I will raise my rating to 5-stars, but being a software developer myself, I cannot rate something well unless it is functional for all.

answer key to this god awful game series that greg insists on badging to death: dead, meticulous, the script, Xs and Os, lying, his ears, footsteps, ada, stage left, putting stones in robe, play pamphlets, dead body, body position, pulse

I don't think I really get how the play is supposed to work. The writer of the play sets up clues for who the killer is, which can be one of two sons, but he's in the dark about who did it himself. How was he supposed to write the play and give the audience any clues about who the killer was that way? The sleuth-work of the game offered only one or two possibilities, and which way the body is looking is not a good clue as to who the killer is, IMO. The gimmick just doesn't add up or make sense to me as described.

If I wanted to read a book, I wouldn't be on Kong. Nor would I choose a derivative piece of teenage fanfic garbage like this. Either make an actual game, or stop flooding Kong with this utter nonsense. How are people actually getting through all this shit dialogue? How is this basic bitch game getting high enough ratings for badges... Seriously stop... Graggky

can you please give an option of skipping all the weeb shit you put into your games? holding space still consumes minutes upon minutes of waiting for a rather dull and ultimately needless chat to end. someone people want to play a game, not read poorly spelled edgy teenage diarrhea of a plot

Seriously dude, your games lost a lot of credibility when you misspell words, just get a proofreader or pay some attention jfc
