@Dundas the only cheat code is to just grind through all of these (best done during a spare weekend or two while listening to music). Once you've done that, it's just a quick in 'n' out every subsequent time the BotD is for one of them. And while they are way too niche to be good BotD candidates, there have been much worse BotDs, including ones that were literally impossible to do within a day unless you had prior progress or imported someone else's save.

Incredibly poor choice AGAIN for a BOTD game. All of them. I want a cheat code to jump to the end and get them over with.

Right before the Title and credits, the walking sprites change completely several times. Just wanted to let you know.

Love this series. Pokemon Red taught me to read considerably so I don't mind the Interactive Fiction detective hilarity and chaos.
For those wondering why these games are in the BOTD weekly rotation so frequently: Until a better Flash emulator is integrated that allows older, non-Ruffle compatible games on Kongregate to award badges properly again without sending a Missing Badge Report, Kongregate has resorted to only allowing Badge of the Days to be from games with working badges. This is typically any HTML5 game, Unity game, or most games that were released in 2017 or newer. The BOTD pool is just a whole lot more limited now.
I say we vote that there be 3 Medium BOTDs a week, 3 Easy BOTDs a week on separate days from the Medium, and IMO, one working Hard badge to earn across the entire week to make up for the limited selection!

It's better to just follow a walkthough and beat this game now, so next time it's BOTD again, you get the BOTD by just loading the page. Otherwise you keep missing out on the BOTD of this game forever. The same for the other Medieval games when they are BOTD. Just bite the bullet.

Here is the link the the walkthrough if anyone wants it. These games aren't bad, but the BOTD has become so oversaturated with them that they are less enjoyable each time. There are hundreds of medium and easy badged games on the site, and I wish they were cycled through better. https://medieval-cop.fandom.com/wiki/My_Best_First_Worst_Day_Ever#Walkthrough

@daanboer and Delthin: we know why this garbage shows frequently as BotD. the question is, why was it badged at all? i mean, the first few episodes were fine, so it's understandable. but what did Vasant do for Kong to have ALL this redundant crap badged?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@daanboer Not that many that don't require Flash. The games that need emulators (now that Flash is bye-bye) can't be used for BotD... which leaves pretty slim choices.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How much did VasantJ pay kongregate to have his games be constantly badge of the day... I thought there were other games on Kongregate too
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Disappointed that this is the badge of the day. Legitimately no interest in playing a game that is a book pretending to be interactive.

Might h8 the rest of the total dogwater series but Amber is still a top tier qt3.14, shame she was only in this spinoff for so long that you can't find much good art of her out there. Reminds me a bit of Akira from 7 Squared Wonder and Una from Kegareta with a twist of Lily Baskerville in serious moments

Good game. Based on the title I thought this would be a "short" game. Boy was I wrong. :D Maybe I just took too long. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
See, the most annoying thing is that in the past some decent series got badges only on one part... and here devs went totally crazy. So the problem was not Vasant bombarding Kong with dozens of less or more rotten eggs - taht's totally fine, there are worse games, really. Problem was what Kong stuff did with those stinky eggs.

Back in the day when developers were uploading games it wasn't easy for games to get badged. When I was trying to implement the Kongregate API to get a badge for my own game I asked an admin ( Keep in mind a paid employee on the site at the time) for help, they claimed they didn't know how to implement the API to set up scores and badges and that I should have contacted support.
(I did and they couldn't help either )
Turns out the person who recommended me to contact support was also working support that day, and dealt with my support ticket I had sent.
(I even tried asking a couple of other devs for help (one of them even being VasantJ but they couldn't help since they had a agreement with whoever helped them set up the API for them.)
Tried looking for tutorials online, nothing straightforward , couldn't even find videos on Youtube about setting up an API on an HTML5 game.
What I'm trying to get at is, Kongregate didn't make it easy for game devs to set up badges on their own games.

@solar90 I still think it's an awful decision that the BOTD selecter is only choosing non flash games. When there's other sites getting around with implementing flash again (using ruffle) in their games and on their badges.
Also Kongregate didn't quite make it easy to understand on how to set up badges and the API's for scores so more devs could have had badges on their games 1/2

@archerbob: Kong is done adding badges to games, just like they're done letting people upload new games. What is existing, is all there is.

speedwave do at least a minimal research before saying things like that.
"Even though we have relatively few easy or medium non-Flash badges (just over a hundred), we're going to change the BotD selector so that it only selects badges from non-Flash games. This means badges will come up more often (about once every three months or so) than they have in the past."

I haven't played a game for 1.5 months because I own most BOTDs. Some people are angry about getting Medieval Chronicles/Cop/Shorts BOTDs, but play them once and get easy badges forever. Or use the trick from the comment below.

UPD: got it! Updated badge guide for Chrome:
- Hold down Spacebar/PageDown to skip dialogue until you get to the part where you can walk.
- Press F12 to open the page code
- Press Ctrl+Shift+C and click on the game window
- Use the Console tab and paste the following:
$gameMap._interpreter.pluginCommand("KongAPI", ["submit", "complete", 1]) - 5
- Congrats on the badge!

@puglover123: This is a BotD (again) because Kongregate decided to stop allowing new games, didn't work with Supernova or some other group to get Flash programs to continue working, so we're now cycling though maybe 50-200 different badges for BotD instead of the thousands of badges that are on Flash games and hundreds if not thousands of badges on HTML games if Kongregate started allowing new games again.

I had a bug.
Even though "I had all the tip", I didn't get to progress. Had to present the book to everybody all over again before I got to progress.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As with most of these medieval games.
You can skip playing by using the code:
$gameMap._interpreter.pluginCommand("KongAPI", ["submit", "complete", 1]) - 5)
in the Console. On chrome I have to delete the last ) or it wont work.
If you dont know how to get to the console hit F12 and use the frame selector to select the game in your browser.
It worked on the main menu no need to load the game for me.

@Balbane. I love adventure games, I love detective games. I was brought up on the Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken and Monkey Island Games. They had LOTS of dialogue. But they were entertaining and interesting, not just waiting for it be over with.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Too much paging through dialogue, too many spelling and grammar errors. However, the puzzle flow was well worth the actual play time. Differentiated discovery is good: interview, examine, explore, ... please add more variety in future games.

Talk to everyone without any clue and then with each clue while holding down page down. The clues are the missing bookshelf in the top left room and then the bookshelf covering the window in the top right room. Then inspect the cracked wall with the book for the sledgehammer.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I hate that the walkthrough is barely a walkthrough at all. It just shows the answers that you have to give to the questions at the end of the game. Nothing about who to talk to or what clues you need to collect.
