Under rating threshold (show) I just started a new game, and I noticed the combat system seemed a bit off. with Undead, the maximum number of enemies you could fight completley reset, with Elves fighting an enemy once was enough to unlock the next enemy, and with orcs you had to guess at how many enimies you needed to fight to unlock the next one, I haven't gotten barracks yet. if your intention is the orc system, I'd suggest saying somewhere how many enemies you need to fight before unlocking the next one

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from Veterum

When you start a new game, the max enemy you can fight is supposed to stay the same. To unlock each enemy type you have to be able to fight the minimum level for that type as well as defeat the previous enemy type. I tested it and the max enemies for undead stayed the same through a new game, I'm not sure what could have caused that.

Under rating threshold (show) I think the display for orc meat production got messed up, I found this out when it said I was producing meat and I was actually loosing some. Also, just a suggestion, but maybe the trolls should kill per second (and in less amounts if balancing is an issue) rather than during battle. I find most units that have that formula are rather under powered when compared to other units

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from Veterum

The last update fixed a bug with the meat display, it wasn't being affected by banners' 'Rally' ability. The thing about trolls is, they can kill per second OR in battle :D. I agree they're a bit weak now, but I'll wait to see how they work out when the new achievements come out.

Under rating threshold (show) Some sort of indication how long it's going to take before elves can attack would be helpful, since there's no expected losses countdown like on the others.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from Veterum

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I think it'll be an 'archers needed' count until you get phoenixes, and after that it will be 'expected losses' which say how many phoenixes are needed.

Soon I will add new ways to get achievement points, which will allow a significant reduction in the fight timer. Many of the undead buildings are designed with this in mind, so the undead are not very balanced at the moment.

Under rating threshold (show) I seem to be at the current end of the game. Awesome game, I played it obsessively for an entire day. Some suggestions: - Starting a new game is painful. After you get the first few rewards for each race you're doing the same sequence over and over. Some ideas to help this: a reward that doubles the production of every building; retain 1 of every building you had after restart; way more interracial perks like Human Alliance, so that each new race makes the ones before it quicker to build up; let players spend achievement points without restarting. - Some of the achievements are super underpowered. Miniature Horses would save me like 10 food per second, when I'm generating 500+. Taking 1 second off the fight timer isn't nearly enough considering how scarce achievement points are. 5 or 10 seconds per point would feel better. Same with the +% battle rewards, it should be like +100% per achievement point, with a hard cap if you're worried about it being OP.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from Veterum

I'm glad you enjoyed it :). I'm planning to do a big update with more achievement rewards and ways to get achievement points, which will make restarting more rewarding. I envision that at some point it will be possible to get 59 achievement points and reduce the battle timer to 1 second. I'll also buff mini horses and OSHA which are nearly useless.

Under rating threshold (show) do skeletons from tomb and mass grave count as 'saved/protected' when 'safe on'? lets say at time 0, i will lose 1000 skeletons and i would get 2000 skeletons from grave/tomb, will battle last longer until liches kill rest of enemys or it counts as 0 losses and i gain fewer free skeletons?

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from Veterum

With safe on it will wait until you lose 0 skeletons to the enemy, so you will gain 2,000 when expected losses reach 0.

Sep. 09, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) Kinda funny, but lots of the unique achievements are weaker than the -seconds for battle timers once you got your strategy down. OSHA is completely unnecessary when interracial marriage and chapel gives you more peasants than you'll ever need. Trade routes all become pretty insignificant after early game. Miniature horses is useless. Cannibalism isn't necessary because orc army minimizes losses anyways. Seeds become superfluous pretty quickly, as well as live traps. Perhaps the achievements could be geared more towards boosting late game, as 0% of human, 20% of orc, and 50% of elf achievements are worse than timer reduction late game.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from Veterum

I'm planning to buff the human achievements, OSHA and mini horses are clearly useless, and caravans are underwhelming for how many points they cost. As for orcs and elves, I'll see how they work out in combination with future content I'm planning.

Under rating threshold (show) u should update the Tombs, Crypts, and Sepulcres production, the cost to upgrade the building is too much with totally low outcome. In fact its totally wasting stones to build those buildings considering how much skeletons u get "after battle"

A lot of undead buildings are balanced around a shorter fight timer, which will be possible once I add more ways to get achievement points.

Under rating threshold (show) It feels like the prestige system is extremely underwhelming. In fact, in most cases it just feels like the amount of time that would be needed to break even just sets you behind. The main benefit of the prestige system seems to be shorter time inbetween battles, but the achievement points themselves take so long that by prestiging, you're losing way more time to climb back to where you were before. The benefit doesn't really seem to help you break any walls either.

Under rating threshold (show) choosing enemy wasnt that hard to begin with, but atleast now it shows clearly when new enemy is available. BUT... i dont like e5... e is for 6+. also assuming you keep e5 (i hope not), why some have it and some dont? http://i.imgur.com/mPlIZUu.png , inconsistency is irritating.

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from Veterum

I don't like e5 either, but a lot of people asked me to change to switch enemy interface so I figured that was more important. Besides, after e6 you only get 2 significant figures anyway. (Hmm... I could make it 3 significant figures for numbers under e10.) The other options I see are: 1. Decrease font size - would be bad for people with poor eyesight or huge monitors. 2. Fit 4 resources vertically in the bottom area - would look really crammed. 3. Increase the game window size - it's currently a nice standard size (800x600), and for people with small monitors like me it uses almost the whole browser window already. Also, I think you might need to review your scientific notation :P

Under rating threshold (show) I'm very happy with the new battle UI, it's much easier to pick which enemies to fight! it's also much more apparent how little my units are actually doing, but I also don't have that many fighting unit production building (I focus on resource collection usually). As far as transparency goes, maybe try a similar UI for the buildings with multiple functions as you used for battle? an indication of what restarting does would be nice (as I said, it took me forever to find out), something about it in the tutorial and/or a tool tip in the achievement section might help. Also, I know you're probably working on it, but I really want some achievement perks for undead, even with the battle timer their resource production (non-battle dependent) could use a little boosting in my opinion.

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from Veterum

I can't really make the same UI for buildings because the trade post (which is the main problem) has too many options to make an icon for each one. I personally don't like long tutorials, so I want to keep it as short as possible, just enough to get started and let players explore the game. So yeah a tooltip in the achievements view is probably the way to go. More undead achievement rewards will come, but probably not in the next update. I'll try to do a big update with a bunch of achievement rewards as well as new ways to get achievement points so players can restart and get them all at once.

Under rating threshold (show) This game could use some more transparency wrt buildings and what they do. It would be good to know exactly how many skeletons my tombs are producing per battle, and what buildings get additional functions over time. Also, some indicator as to how I can spend my achievement points would be good (I know I need to start a new game to do that, but I shouldn't have to do research on it to find out.) Overall this is a really good idle game and I can't wait to see what future updates bring!

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from Veterum

I agree that it lacks transparency. How do you think I should improve on that? Decrease the tooltip font size to fit more info in? Make an in-game encyclopedia? Just put a FAQ in the game description?

kingalex1234

Sep. 07, 2016

Under rating threshold (show) I haven't gotten mummies yet, but with how much pyramids cost it'll take forever to get one, but otherwise I've nearly finished. Undead use an insane amount of books, and only humans can actually produce any (and elves with perks), maybe you should have a way to produce books? also, it took forever to get some buildings because there's no resource production for materials that are used quite often, including stone and wood, which becomes ridiculously time consuming unless you have a lot of fighting power. some Undead balancing may be helpful

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from Veterum

Making liches and mummies don't use books very fast. Apocalypse, Curse and training necromances do, but all those buildings have other options that use no books/way fewer books. I believe the undead are in general way underpowered at the moment, which is actually intended, because in the future I will add more ways to get achievement points which will allow you to significantly reduce the fight timer, which will greatly boost the undead. So I made the undead somewhat unbalanced so that I wouldn't have to drastically change them in the future.

Under rating threshold (show) can someone explain how rewards work? from reading comments i assume they have something to do with achievement points and starting new game, is all progress lost? whats the point of starting fresh? im on first (long) day and atm 274 liches, i think i have all buildings in previous races, not sure about undead yet. not knowing what is considered end game or what would happen if i (should) started fresh is frustrating.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from Veterum

If you start a new game, you can use your achievement points to get rewards. Each reward in red costs 1 point, and you can use 1 point to decrease the fight cooldown by 1 second. When you start a new game, you lose all your buildings and resources, but your achievements will remain.

Under rating threshold (show) with the way enemies unlock now, progression is much slower. also, I find it nearly impossible to figure out if I've unlocked the next enemy, and I've slowed my progress further several times trying to figure it out. maybe instead of cycling through the enemies, you can make it so players choose which enemy they want each race to fight at the time (assuming that enemy is unlocked). There should also be an indication of when all buildings are unlocked and/or when the last enemy for a race has been reached

To unlock enemies you now have to defeat a large enough army, as well as the previous enemy. i.e. to unlock wolves you have to kill the 250 peasant army, to unlock rogues you have to kill any wolf army + any army of 800, for witches, any rogue army + any army of 2500, etc. It works the same for all races.
