I wish you could use the police to fight a turf war for you, if you have them completely in your favor. Read about a raid on such and such family the next day, knowing you did it. Soften them up for a massive raid, like the last family. Holy crap those guys are commandos I sent over 200 men and they killed 46 (I had Tommies) while I killed 16.

the concept is interesting and it's a decent game. There are a few things that need improvements though. Liquor distributes over an area, but not every distict in each area needs the same amount of liquor. Let us distribute it manually or move it after distribution, cause it kinda sucks having to ship more for just one place and the other places have plenty left (1k+ sometimes even). Also let us assign the mobs to the borders of the territory. If I were able to move all those mobs who stood around in stetton to the bronx, to defend against the diStefanos, I wouldn't have lost territories all the time. The game also kinda lacks randomness. Have the other families fight each other, random events, police raids etc. A few more things to manage wouldn't hurt either ^^

Until the Manhattan borough, I didn't have to kill ANYONE to take their lands. I got fed up with them taking back such expensive land, and then coming after MY places, so I organized a mass raid. :) City was mine!

One minor problem I had at the very end when there is only one Mafia aside from yourself left, is that they just keep going from place to place until you can finally buy the plot they've taken over.

very nice game but get really boring when the buying of alcohol only 4tipes of alcohol and guns i think it would be better if you add cars and houses and more upgrades to your lots and maybe a choice in what ladder must the lot go up (drug house , money launder y ,strip club) and also to hire underbosses and mobster and also maybe you can buy planes from your own money wich has a better change to get your goods at the stores with out any problems

Definitely kept me hooked to play till the end which means the concept of the game was great. Just a couple things could have made it even better. Families fight each other, level of shipment actually meant something to how many people you should send to guard it, ways to increase defense stats, potential joint-family operations, basically just a little more in-depth. Otherwise I had fun. 4/5 :)

A fun game, there could have been a few things that would have made it better though.
1. the mobsters were an after thought for me as I played through the game, it made much more sense to just pay for everything and leave them on defence.
2. I would have liked a way to quickly see they stock I had left in each area, and possibly redistribute said stock, at one stage while lvling an area I had 5000 cases in one city and only 200ish in the city next to it.
3. once the respect was full I had no need to visit it again, it would have been nice to have events that caused me to make a choice, and if I chose wrong I lost respect as a result.
these are all minor things, but they would have made the game play more fun and engrossing. but all in all a fun game, if only a little too short. 4/5

Not bad, but too linear and with very limited interconnction of elements (what is police good for? Why i cannot further support mobster generation? If I have 150 000 000 why i couldn't buy a whole police as a mbsters? [instead, I'm stuck with 20 tommies guarding at each and every area, losing like 15/per turn in gunfights] Also, why other families do not wage war against each other and why prices do not reflect builidings or whatever..?)

the game seems kinda unballanced and unfinished around mid way into the game. i got in a situation, where a rival had 1 territory left, and each round i took it over, he took something else in return.

This game is awesome, but I feel that there should be more involvment with your mobsters like ranks, Something to watch and control when a conflict between the families occurs and maybe even skills. Still much much better than most games like this. 4/5 :)

Any chances at a new Mafiosi game? I absolutely LOVED NYC Mafiosi, so I’m really hoping for a new Mafiosi game that’s a lot larger with more upgrades and so forth.

Is this game intentionally wasting my time, or only accidentally? Each day may as well be "Click the mouse X times to continue." Shallow mechanics, beyond repetitive. 0/5.

dawn, my tactic is to save up enough for one district, then takeover the rest in one night. The other family will attempt to take one other area, and then you purchase that last one easily. Families disappear fast.

how to control when all of the gangs hate you and they don't accept bribe and just killing your man and taking your districts daily?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
too hard. gave up. but fun gameplay. just quit because hard. srsly. took on rly big family right away. then war sux mah monehz way.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why 20 mobsters is enough for any quantity of cases :/ shouldn't it get harder if there are more shippments? i don't see the whole point of even having them if 20 is enough for this everytime haha just leave them there forever

The game is kinda broken when you start buying out territories in Manhattan. Even after bribing the two remaining families and reducing animosity to zero, the Barese family kept stealing my land.

Really good game, but see every single day, every single thing that happened and that spinning newspaper is pissing me off! 4/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
really nice graphics, but the game is too easy once u get a hold of it. also, raiding all rival families districts at once, and then buying out the last one they take during that turn, is too obvious of exploit. cheers.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also, it doesn't matter how much liquor you buy, 20 mobsters can protect it. So instead of buying a few hundred every turn, wait until you can afford a few thousand, that way your mobsters arent tied up as much.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The computer can only do 1 attack a turn it seems, but you can do as many as you have the manpower for, and 35-40 guys can take a location. Take over 2-3 a turn, keep your bribes up, and eventually when the enemy is down to 1 location, just buy them out. I didn't even leave Staten island til like day 15, and I was still finished by 43.

With max upgraded weapons my mobsters die in droves whenever we get attacked and don't seem very capable of taking over other cities. I guess the other families have access to better upgrades than I do.

i got pretty far and then the game crashed and lost everything so... save often. maximum bribe would be good but also it would be nice if the city bribe things would fill up faster... why do i have to wait like 30 seconds each time? it's annoying. also would be nice if it would tell you when you're going to run out of booze BEFORE it happens... it gets a bit complicated to check each establishment... i find it's easier just to run out. and alternative suggestion would be to always have to booze evenly distributed between each place and to show how much is left on the info screen. not a great game... 4 stars? i'd give it a 3.

Utter rubbish fighting in this game. The other families apparently have UNLIMITED mobsters, while you can only get 1 per property each day.
How is it that I attack the final property of an enemy family, kill 5, and lose 30 - even though I have the best weapon (Tommy gun)? And somehow, on the same day, they manage to take over one of my properties with 40+ defenders? And.. repeat, until I run out of of mobsters.
Sorry, but hitting "Next Day" 100 times until I build up enough mobsters to take out an enemy family in one day is.. not fun.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have half a billion dollars, but can still recruit only one mobster per location each day...
Neat game, but it's overly easy if you just go the buy-out the enemy route, and probably overly difficult if you try to fight them. If you mess up and lose too many mobsters.. you're basically done for, because you can't replenish them fast enough.
For a sequel, I'd like to see it become a bit more like Risk; as it is, there's very little combat strategy.

Game deserves a badge or two from Kongregate, Easy for winning, Medium for under xx days....would be cool to see developer put achievements in too

An indicator for each district, showing if they will run dry next turn, or are currently dry, would be greatly appreciated. Super fun game, but clicking back over each push pin over and over isn't a high point.

Manhattan was a tug of war for a while but dropping 50 thugs each accross the board saw me nearly victorious - they managed to take Pelham but that property I could buy out after upgrading my new properties and bribing my way back up.
Huge liquor shipments once in a while (80000) seem to work better than trying for just in time shipments sized just right.
