there should be a way to hire mobsters, because it seems like with 50 guys you cant both attack and defend against a rival. also, what does bribing rivals do, i bribed the calzeretti down to 0% and they still attacked me. is there a secret "declared war +100% animosity" somewhere so you cant conquer an area, then bribe them to prevent attacks?

Bribe the Public? The hell do I do that? Do I get the entire public crammed into an alleyway and throw them money? Makes no sense. How in a realism sense does one bribe the public?

Lets see, I'm buying about 400k cases of alcohol, at $40 a case. So 1.6m worth of alcohol. I think I'll send only 20 people to guard it. Not like anyone would want it badly enough to send massive amounts of people.

but i only used 73 days, i had 1387 days til prohibition ends, seeing as I was making at least 50m a day pretty sure I could also capitalize on the legal businesses as well

The game is awesome, the mafia family who attacked me got attacked and took over in a single night, i did want to offer them money but they were crooks, not gentleman mafia like mine, so i killed them all :D

No achievements, and this game pisses me off when you buy a property and they steal it right back. Sure you could take it over but you're encouraged to buy back what is rightfully yours anyway otherwise you lose rep.

The game is far too easy, but I like the idea and love the art direction and effort you clearly put into making the game look nice and play smoothly. This game reeks of class and it is delicious.

Could be a great game alas it lacks diversity. Money just keeps coming in and the last 2 families i could take in 4 days launching 4 attacks on the first day - that way you loose the smallest amount of mobsters - buying the one district back which they took. Then bribe the city - and repeat everything with the single remaining family.

It is a bit too easy, first time playing I finished it in 72 days. Random events, conflict between the other families would be cool. Nice game anyways! Is there going to be a part 2?
Thanks for playing! Hopefully. Production is put on hold at this point. We have two other games we want to finish first, both as flash and mobile releases. Stay tuned.

First day, lost one district. Third day lost second district. Fourth day lost final district. What a really fun game!
It's been pushed back unfortunately since we have two other projects we want to work on first, that are much much closer to being release-quality. Stay tuned.
I like to think of diplomat as being a real hustler of a class. You don't have much cash, but you know how to gain respect and trust. Therefore, you have more city respect, and more mobsters with you, even though you don't have as much spending money. Alternatively, the strategist is the real war class - you aren't likely to gather much respect that way!

needs a way to speed up the number of mobsters that are recruited rather them just having it being effected by your reputation with the public, good game through

Entrepreneur means easy early on, but then you have to rebuy repeatedly. It's impossible to win an armed fight, on offense or defense. Annoying rebuying on repeat... with no alternatives besides saving for 50 extra days to just purchase all of Manhattan with 400m. 400m in those days would purchase a lot of peace between families. Great idea and execution for the early-game... but ultimately there is a lack of depth to the end-game.

so if nothing else happens another mob takes over my district? why? is it so dangerous to let nothing happen in a turn?

You're liqueur stores at 'place X' are low! Ship some more liqueur! Successfully shipped 17333 cases of liqueur to each location!
...logic

so if I buy 27,000 cases of alcohol, I can send 20 mobsters there and it's fine? Seems to me as if the city aren't just turning a blind eye, they're putting blindfolds on!

If you buy a territory from another family they shouldn't be able to attack it the next turn, it should have at least 1 turn delay.
