plasma cannon is the best cannon in the game. It has high range, damage, splash damage, piercing damage, and can hit air.
Build a bunch of plasma cannons and 1 seismic thumper. You'll easily beat the game. Nukes are fun to use too

Warning: the gold you have at the end of a level gets spoiled, but your research points stay! If you make sure to have always 400 RP at the end of level, you can by the 4 first boost at the beginning of the next one...

If you really want to get a good headstart on saving up research. Save up enough to buy the cannon (300 research) and the research lab. The 300 cost of the cannon eradicates the easy stuff and another 2-3 gets the job done during the early levels. In about 5 minutes i've saved up 5k research

How do you unselect a tower when you are placing it? I ended up having to wait til I got enough money to buy the tower because it wouldnt let me select any of my existing towers

How to farm RP: buy research lab, at begging of level just lay down labs, start 1st wave and wait. After you die, rinse and repeat until you can buy all the towers. To save enough RP for upgrades, you need 1200 RP.

It'd be nice if the stars you get from completing missions actually had some sort of relevance. Some permanant passive upgrade system or something would be good.

For those having trouble on lvl 13 hard, get the money upgrades at the start then build seismic thumper upgraded, then keep buying upgraded flak cannons in that area.

just what ButchIV said. most towers are useless, once you found the right tower you dont need research pnts. in the last level i actually needed 2 different towers.

I think it would be rather useful to have a wave toolbar to let us know what enemies are coming and explains there stats so we know what we should be using for that particular level rather than have to learn the hard way whats gonna be good against what.

Worthless balance. I used 2 towers to beat it all, with too much ease. The 'upgrades' thing, when used right early on, spoils it all...! Just have 400 research on the beginning of every level, find the right tower (won't spoil which one, but one is extremely versatile and powerful) and be bored.
Looks are good, the basics are there, but rebalance the economy. Any TD player will punch straight thru this game.

You can beat the entire game with Flaks only
If you purchase something with RP and then repeat the level, you get the RP refunden, but can keep the new tower

better option: make them NOT temporary, like most other games out there. they could cost more, but this way is ridiculous. either drastically increase the research generated, or make the upgrades permanent.

needs hotkeys! cant place+upgrade my grunts as fast as i get money. same problem as in bloons td 1: basic tower only works very well, at least until mission 8 (my progress so far).

3.5 mil Louse kills to get from 37 to 38 wave
Half a mil score on each tower and 110 mil cash.
Great survival u just can't do it u'll run out of time :|

So I can accumulate a bunch of research, then start a new level, spend it, kill a mob, hit restart, and respend my research. Wish there was more to buy!

Found a glitch: if you go to the menu and press "retry" you will restart the level with as many research points as you started with, even if you bought a new tower. You will also keep the tower blueprints you bought.

Upgrades never meant to be temporary. They are UPGRADES! Just change the name to boost as Sanderxxx told. Or you are gonna repeating the same thing. And all the comments about this nice game will be about it, doesnt matter how many times you reapeat that they are temporary.

Tip from having beaten the game: the most damaging tower is an upgraded flamethrower. Air units are generally weak, plasma will take care of them, or tesla, just have them behind your flamethrowers. Can beat every level like that. Each level purchase "more $ per kill" boost, then your set.

I think there should be some sort of reward for getting more stars on levels. You've mentioned time and time again that the upgrades are meant to be passive, but maybe you can spend stars on permanent upgrades or something

The bread and butter towers (grunt and plasma) are very powerful, especially the Plasma Tower. My main strategy is to deploy a slowing unit with 2 or more plasma tower, then keep adding more plasma to the field. It deals good damage so it hurts armor. Upgrades lets it hit FAST, hit flyers, and burst vs swarms. It makes everything else look bad, or maybe I haven't found how to use the rest.

The passive upgrades should be permanent and have tiers (or a higher cost if they're one-offs). That would help people having trouble with the game and make it fun for everyone--if they didn't mind replaying some levels to afford the upgrades.

1. Some units don't say if they attack air units or not.
2. When you retry a level you keep the towers that you researched but you retain your research points.
