Ahh, solved puzzle #4. I had figured out what I WANTED to do, just not how to do it. After trying the wrong solution (right idea, though) over and over again, it became obvious. I would be willing to give hints via PM if anyone needs help.

Hotkeys for unit placement (1=Soldier, 2=Tower, 3=Portal, etc.) would be a fantastic addition to the game. After a while clicking back and forth gets tedious, especially when you've been stockpiling cash and the enemy experiences one of the 'mass death' situations that you can swoop in after.

Amazing game. I like the strategy :) Music is good. I've been playing it for a week now. I like the simple but fun mechanics :)

How can I have 146 maps won on super cheater but have 101 total maps won? I really dont think I won 100+ super cheater maps.
That certainly seems suspect doesn't it. I'll see what I can find! - 4/10 - This was a bug causing map wins to get counted twice... so 146 maps won on super cheater should have been 73 maps won. I fixed it in the latest patch but it won't correct old stats, sorry.

Just tested my puzzle campaign with the new updates. All the maps are still solvable. Each map also has a hint in the defeat story section. For people having difficulty with the 3rd map, here's a second hint: Buy one soldier on the second round and never delete it.

Overall, I like it; but I think the fire/water random disasters need to be a bit less harsh. A way to mitigate them (e.g., sprayer/sandbag(?) units) would be nice. ...As far as the puzzle levels (by RedeemedWahrior), after 2 uber-easy ones the 3rd has me stumped. It doesn't appear to me to even be possible, but 2 people here have said that the LAST one (4th) stumped them, so I guess I'm just missing something...?
The severity of the disasters are controlled by the mapmaker and range from "none" to "slay them all". For the time being your on yor own, no support units. But it is something i'm considering adding at a later date.

This really is an enjoyable game. Simple, yet good game play. Not a huge fan of flooding and loosing land permanently, but it sure is good motivation to be aggressive. Also playing one of the campaigns with fire.. All the AI was eliminated from the fireballs..and nearly was myself. Nice way to force players change tactics though.

How does one win more maps than there are available? *looking at Total Maps Won highscores* @gorp That last puzzle map has me stumped too.
I'm strugging with the puzzles too, what a great map idea! As for how to win more, that should be more accuratly renamed to "Games won", you can play a map multiple times.
That is poorly worded, your right. I'll tweak the language in the next patch. To get that achievement you have to beat it without ever using a level 3 or 4 soldier. - 4/10 Latest patch clarifies this.

I've recently discovered the joy of island warfare... Using bridges and tier 4 explosives. 80 bucks to wipe your foe off the face of the earth? Why certainly! FWOOSH!

Raiders aren't scary, they only ever attack unguarded spots. And even when they do, the max raider level is 2, so you can claim the spot back with a lvl 3 soldier. What's really scary is the flood, you permanently lose the land, ANY land, even if theres a lvl 4 soldier on it. Even if you rebuild a bridge there, there's no more income.
Yeah, often requested. I'm afraid that is a monumental development effort, more than I can do as a solo-developer. So I'm with you ToxicBlitz, that would be kewll. But unfortunitly I can't add it. Sorry.

A 'delete items' brush, and an undo button would be great for the editor (unless those are there, just hiding). Portals and graves are super annoying if you accidentally place one wrong.
Undo is regretably tricky, but i'll see what I can do. The other couple of enhancements you mentioned Blue0Dwarf i'll try to put in v1.17K, which i'm working on now. It is lower priority (aka not game disabling) bugs so i'm delaying releasing it so it can include more content. I'll aim for tomorrow, though Easter may delay that.

The Achievement checker is broken, it awards achievements for any difficulty. Except the 'Win the campaign' achievement, that one tracks for Adept+ only. *continues searching for remaining 2 easter eggs. and what a fitting time to do so :D*

I have to agree, the Vile pretty much slaughter the AI's. If you feel like it, you can win most maps by turtling until the AI submits. Unless there are capture goals.

In the last earthen realms map, when i build the portal on the center tile. Nothing happens. The game doesnt end. There is just a green tool tip telling me to sell my guy or move him so i can build a portal. Think the last update broke something?

There is a bug where if you put down a portal, then try to recycle the other end you hear a pop, get 20 gold, but it doesn't get rid of the portal... Infinite Gold Portal

As far as computers and gaming have evolved, "Slay" is STILL one of the simplest and most rewarding strat-lite gamestyles out there; you do it justice, Warstrider.

I don't think the spear mushrooms should spawn randomly - they should only spawn in vile controlled areas otherwise they lead to the breakup of AI and human controlled empires quite easily

The map "Rise of the empire" has been temporarily taken off line due to a bug in GOW2. I am correcting the bug and will then make "Rise of the empire" available again. Sorry for the delay.

The raiders take a lot of the fun away. It's too random, and random = not fun IMO. It would help if they followed the same rules for fighting. Right now they can grab a protected tile as if it is not protected at all. So if there are a lot of them they can grab all the tiles around your guys and starve them all. Also I'd rather pay part of my income to just not have them randomly spawning on my tiles. At the end of the day I'm paying money for soldiers to get rid of that crap, so I'd rather just make it automatically pay money to not have it occur at all.
I appreciate your feedback spacedock. I will investigate adding a "No Vile" option to the map editor. That would allow map makers that feel the same way as you do to make maps that you'll enjoy more. I'll also add a "No Vile" tag so they are easy to find.

It is a reoccurring bug though. To anyone who runs into this issue (Vile spawning endlessly, and crazy lava flows) just refresh the page. It will take you back one turn, and the glitch will likely not occur that turn. Slightly annoying, but at least you don't have to restart.
Good catch Blue0Dwarf, thank you for reporting it. It seem especially prone to occur on the new "Survival of the Fittist" map. Survival of the Fittest custom map should be deleted. After turn one the game ends as vile spawn on everything, die on the lava flows, and then respawn on the lava flows again endlessly. Been waiting for 5 minutes in the hopes of it finishing up, since sometimes it gets close, but nope. No good.
hehehe yeah the poor computers can't/don't build farms. During development I had them build farms, but they either botched it up and bankrupt themselves or built so many farms they steamrolled the player. So, that got turned off. :)

I love the improvements that you've made. The game actually looks and feels professional. You've done very nice work! Unfortunately, I have to go to sleep now, because if I don't, I'll literally stay up all night playing this :) 5/5, and add a tip jar!
"On January 1, 2013 Kongregate will be ending the Kreds tipping program" looks like Kongregate ended the system, but I appreciate the sentiment Darvious. Play and enjoy, thats enough to make me happy.

NO EFFING WAY!!! I never type in caps, nor use excessive punctuation, but Garden of War is one of the BEST strategy games I've ever played... I am extremely excited too see what's new!
