Yes, Jan 17 was touch-and-go at points. With some maps, it's hairline energy control, with others it's leapfrogging blasters uphill, but with 1/17, it's all about chokepoints. Blocking the upper right gap and lower left gap, and then working some stable defense in the middle should give you enough time and space to crank out a support network. Remember, Relays connect farther than Collectors, and can be used to cross over narrow low-lying areas.

The previous ones were awesome, this one is just horrible, never in the previous ones did I have to struggle for 40 minutes to fail anyways. 0/5 stars for me

personally i didnt find jan 17 to bad. just make sure you have blasters not hitting spores somewhere in your base and wait until the last moment possible to use it. meanwhile build out as far as possible and slowly add reactors. by the time the creep builds up you'll have more than enough energy to start pumping blasters.

@Mozai, first attemtp at jan-17th mission, time 5.03, if you move odin city to the north side of the big lobe, you can build collectors along the top ledge, giving you enough power for a mortar and a blaster to clear your way to the final totem. You have to make sure you dont build up depletion whilst building your base, cause that will slow things down to much for you to beat the first wave of spores.

The Jan 17 2012 map actually isn't that bad when you think about how you should go about it. That was what I liked about it. It isn't just creating this enormous base, you have to think about it too.

The map for 2012-Jan-17 is a good challenge. Took me a few tries to get the right start where I wasn't overwhelmed right away. I wasn't able to control the emitters before the 60-minute mission timer elapsed and it went into Survival Mode. Pity this map cannot be saved.

this game is the best!!!!!!!!! 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999/5

Survival mode only means if you can't beat the game in one hour it's over. On one map I only needed a few more minutes, but the creepers went crazy and I knew. All I could do was sit there and watch. At least it took them 5 minutes, when the creepers go insane it's nothing to play with.

Hey guys, can anyone tell me why my storage node score keeps getting deleted?
all my scores stay, but i have to do a map befoer my storage score gets updated to the highscores
do the mods think i'm cheating ? i am in top 3 of storage nodes with 4990 nodes built atm, which is considerably higher then most people - but i built them all myself!
tbh i don't even know how to cheat the rankings.

Anyone noticed how structures that fly over creeper isn't damaged? Why the F don't they just build flying cities that stayes in the air permanently instead of battling this blue goop? -_-

You should make an optional challenge on each day to try and accomplish, such as no reactors, or only mortars weapons... Even though all the maps are different, they are starting to all seem the same. This would just add one more level of fun :) +1 this comment so the DEV sees it!

Just for reference, you base cannot send more then 32 packets worth of energy at a time. If you are producing more and trying to use more, you'll have surplus AND deficit.

Tip for jan12's map, laying an early relay can allow you to take the upper hills very early, this is useful if you do not wish to move your city.

@santiso: You can just turn totem packets off by clicking on the green packet that's attatched to odin city. That way, you can troll the creeper but still have collectors there.

Sh33p you wouldn't really need to store it on a server, you could just have a field in the stats page that you could cut and paste the hashed contents of the cookie into and out of. That way if someone really wanted to move machines they could just manually do it. You could also just have a button to send it to/from twitter/facebook or something and let them store it. But since its really not a stats/upgrades game I guess the real question is why.

It appears that Odin City has some sort of wattage limit -- a maximum output of 32 packets per second, regardless of how much power you are able to bring in. 32 ammo packets per second can hold back an awful lot of creeper, but the huge reactor farm producing 48 pps of power is kind of wasted.

It`s very easy to solve the cookie problem with ccleaner, you just make an exception with folder chat. kongregate. Pc always clean and all kongrgt games saved

There needs to be a Creeper World 2: Evermore... I can't play this game enough... there's something about combating generic blue stuff for inches of dirt that is irresistable

@Erile, it's a good suggestion, but would be costly to implement. Currently 99% flash games store all save content as a cookie on your computer. To have it store elsewhere would cost in server storage, which in turn will mean more kred hungry developers.

Lately I'm having a ball trying to play cyborg-style (drones/reactors-only :). Continuous sorties over acres of dronebases and singularity reactors, orchestrating permanent bombardments, it's deep man.

The missions are in fact quite easy, if you know how the game works. If anybody is having problems play "creeper world training sim" first to get clue and good habits.

I dont like how survival mode starts after an hour, makes this unplayable for me which is extremely sad because new maps are uploaded daily :(

Jan 4 was cake. Go around the rim on the right, get reactors up, set up a few mortars around the basin once most of the rim is done (far more effective than blasters for holding a lower area at bay like that) and get a drone early, doing bombing runs down the gorge in the middle.
23 minutes easy.

@ShayGuy 4th jan: 13:41 first try. if you move odin city to the ledge on the right, just above that tiny ittle outcrop thingy, you can build up to 2 energy generation before it needs protection from a blaster. next making a mortal to pummel the big pond to the left of the city, and some reactors to support another blaster to close the first emittor and generaate more energy. then with two drones start clearing stuff, and cross the central valy (from right to left) with a relay.
