Good game, but needs some improvements. Needs something to scroll the battlefield easier, like the A and D keys, needs hotkeys for artillery, and some more enemy/terrain types would be better. Also, being able to upgrade your trench would be nice. The ability to place landmines, hire builders for survival mode, increase max troops, upgrade your soldier/personal weapon, etc. Also, a wider variety of troops, like grenadiers, bazookas, or short-range flamethrowers would be nice. I give this a 4/5. Please + up so the developer sees this!

"This is Cpt.McSmith. We were attacked by a huge formation of weaponless civilians. We were still equipped with full gear, and disposed the threat with no casualties.
Soldiers ask for soap."

I didn't fire a single bullet the last few levels. My units took care of everything. I just sat back, ate some captain crunch, and and enjoyed the show.

Mouse scrolling is awkward. Use WSAD to scroll the screen. Needs clearer progression of units and guns. Needs enemies that do something other than shamble toward you - move in different directions, dig a trench for cover, something to give it variety.

nice game, i like the concept of a 'zombie apocalypse' directly after the first world war, considering the large amount of dead people, it really is genious.

i feel like the troops are unbalanced. the french troops are statistically superior to the german machine gunners in every way but aren't 1/3 the price seems to be the most noticeable problem. also, german infantry can basically defend anything alone if 20 are spaced evenly. they've hit 30k points as im writing this without my help, taken no deaths and only 2 base hits. aside from, that, great game!

at least the french infantry don't run away or leave french products like french bread or wine when they die. hahaha
-Mud and Blood reference.
seriously, reminds me of mud and blood. :)

the game is great. it would be nice if you could get more money for more troops and set up traps such as mines to aide you in the battle. 4/5 game

Strategy for an extremely easy game: Buy the springfield after the first level, then buy German MG's, and place them every second square starting from one end of the trench. The area covered by MG's can be left alone, so you only have to focus on at most one half of the battlefield. After lvl. 13, I didn't fire a single shot, and just watched my men take care of everything by themself.

What do you mean "Nothing would prepare us for what would come."?
Clearly soldiers, weapons, and artillery strikes could prepare you for mindless post-injured bodies that have no range attack whatsoever. Wouldn't the prospect of an actual war be a bit more frightening?

a trench is a deep hole in the ground... how does a zombie break a hole!?
make some sort of barrier or they get in perhaps?
rate + if you agree!

Ah yes, my men equipped with state-of-the-art( for the time) fully automatic rifle- caliber machine guns secure less than one tenth what I did with my bolt- action SMLE.

Good game, a bit repetitive but fun. It'd be sweet if you could choose at the beggining if between a class like infantryman or gunner and whatnot. And that would determine what guns you get to choose.

Survival mode: If you are gonna let us save the money for the next game, the waves need to get tougher. 10 MG and the game plays it self.
Artillery buttons should have hotkeys + they seem a little unresponsive.
Scroll with hotkeys would be nice. It's annoying that it scrolls when you try to hit an enemy near the edge.
