Well this game sounds like another one of those horrible money grabbing games that doesn't deserve the money it wishes. 1/5 and it doesn't even work - _ -

The guys who did the pricing scheme for warlight did it right. It's not that it's a one time pay as opposed to a subscription or a bunch of micro tansactions. It's that buying something is cool, but it doesn't effect game play balance. Games that give paying players an advanage, much less an overbalancing one, scare off non paying players who might one day actualy be paying players. I wouldn't give Doom Forge 6 cents. Not because it's a bad game, but because I have no desire to PAY for an arms race with other paying players. Since I'm not doing that, then theres no reason for me to play. Less of a player base so paying players have fewer opponents. Also fewer players gaining add revenue. Bad business structure.

I read that 70$ for a virtual item comment and immediately rated it a 1/5, and i'm going to hit my browser back button and never look at this game again

This is a great game, people just need to learn what great games are all about. Remember playing for 2 weeks straight not losing one match and still only being ABOUT 50% through a game? I do.

Many things are poorly thought :
- lvl 3 items having the same attributes as lvl 2 items (but more expensive !) => absurd !
- items bought by gold too overpowered (so powerful it beats items many level higher !)
- gathering copper gives far too much copper and too few coal => make coal less need (not needed in lingots) and increase drop rate.
- Make ingredients sellable like any other equippable item (who wants to get a useless MOUTAIN of copper inside their backpack ?)
- hunting at level 1 should be against lvl 3 young boars (fitted for lvl 4 players)
- hunting should'nt cost more energy than an arena fight because it gives no XP and no coins ! (should cost less than 5 energy)
-progression of a character from 4 to 5 is too slow (about 40 fights) regarding progression of lvl 1 to 4 (around 10 fights). I figure it keeps getting worse...
Conclusion : Good start but too many things unbalanced, and far too expensive

Seems nice, but the only thing that really bothers me is the overpoweredness of gold stuff.......... I can like read a book/fight in the arena while gathering(oddly enough) so that isn't as bad as some comments have suggested, but one GOOD thing that this mmorpg does that most Kongregate games fail to do is increase the speed of energy regen!!!!! still 3/5 because of inbalance

pay to play on a free gaming site = fail. Having to wait for energy to come back = fail. Not getting exp for killing boars and other wildlife = fail.

not a very good game to start with, but they want you pay to do anything worthwhile. everything about the game is stolen and unoriginal, and the gameplay itself is slow and monotonus. since we cant give 0s, this one gets lucky, and earns a star.

Game is outrageous in its asking prices for items (real money). you can spend a lot of money for very little in this game. Where do they get off putting pay for options in a game that is stated as Beta. This game has few features worthwhile, jobs locked quests locked. The highest ranked players will be those who spend the creds as it is stat based with a bit of luck and strategy. 2/5 decent time waster but greedy.

if u are not going to be playing for a while or if u just decide u dnt like the game then turn ur character into a farm. To do this just remove all equipment so that other players can defeat them no prob in the dueling part of the arena. This will give some of us easy and quick xp/silver at lower lvls. another thing when u are in a skirm make sure u are at the higher end of the lvl cap IE 5-9 make sure u are at lvl 9 b4 goin into a skirm that way u can own the lower lvls.

Before trying to charge for a game, first make a 4-star or higher free game. Until you do, you don't have the chops to make something worth paying for.

I think Kongregate needs 2 special sections. One for games "still in beta" and one for games asking for money to play. Games in either of these special catagories shouldn't be elidgable for the weekly prize.

This game has potential. But it's got too many glitches and balance problems toi be good yet. They certainly aren't ready to be bugging me for money. 1 star. Sadly, Kongregate wouldnt let me purchase any negative stars...

Not "every" mmo wants you to pay to play. There's plenty of free ones. That said, quite a few of them seem to be turning towards looking solely for a profit instead of wanting to be in it for the enjoyment. It's when it reaches that point that the game loses its draw.

The pay-for items are incredibly unbalanced. $70 for a sword at level 9 that is far better than than the best silver-cost weapon? No thanks. Other than good graphics, this is just a basic social game formula.

I am missing a tutorial. For a fight I need 10 Energy. That equals 10 minutes. In my opinion way to long. You need lots of ressoources for crafting and the gathering process is very very slow, too. And why don't I get exp for fighting a boar? That makes no sense. You write that this is beta and some functions won't work at the moment. But directly after opening the game the gold second currency (gold) jumps in my eyes. The bonuses from cash armor are huge compared to the one you get for silver. Looks just like another greedy game to me.
