derekmlui: I got ONE first time- and I'm not even sure if that counted, because it was a tank and we blew each other up at the same time! I R a winner.

Got to love the old school style, but a life system would be appreciated. It's annoying to have to start completely from scratch every time.

According to http://www.thepoppenkast.com/forum/index.php?topic=1680.0 , the game actually does support gamepad control. I'll try it later.

Great arcade game. I like games that manage to deliver a large amount of excitement in a short amount of time. Almost as good as Super Gravitron.
I'd like to play this game on a dual analog gamepad. Mouse and keyboard are uncomfortable - the controls may be the game's major flaw.

Great game, 4/5 easy. I agree that the explosions are far too large, but that isn't my main issue. I want a key to toggle powerups on or off, like a secondary weapon, so I can save my missiles, if I wanted to, for the gunship that I know is about to come.

This is amazing. No really. It's so raw. Classic concept, controls and aiming are just right, the weapon power-ups are ingenious, the visuals hold a style and have just enough bling, and it's seriously hard and addictive. It has everything you need, nothing you don't. Thank you
I second that, great game.

I like this game a lot, but the graphics are too distracting. The screen shouldn't shake at all, and the explosions should be much smaller. The problem is that it's too hard to see the things that kill you.

I like the old-school aesthetic of the game. The design is attractive, and that part of it is unquestionably well done. Also, well done on making the controls be extremely responsive--I prefer controls be a little too responsive than not responsive enough. What bothers me is the one-hit-kill-ness of it, and that's probably more because I'm not hardc0re than because it's an actual problem. I give it a 3.5/5, posted as a 4. It's a 4 in what it is--a good old-school game for those who want a pure point-racking challenge. It loses the half-point for lacking general appeal.

It feels more like a shell of an actual game than anything. If enemy bullets were more detectible, you could spent points in a shop for upgrades such as getting extra ammo from powerups, and being able to raise your max hp, it would be far more entertaining. Till then, it gets a 3, change it, it gets 4 or 5.

Overrated piece of shit. Good concept, good design, good aesthetics, good programming, incredibly shitty balancing. Without lives or health AND the horrendously random powerup drops make this game not about reflexes, timing, or skill, but rather a test of whether or not your first two powerups or missiles and then spread. If they are, you win, if they aren't, die and try again.

Only okay in my opinion. Certainly it is very well done from a design standpoint, but gameplay is kind of frustrating. It doesn't make me want to play it more than a few times. I give this a 3/5.

Stop making those lines to make it look like a TV screen! It looks ATROCIOUS. Ruined the game for me. The same thing was in No More Plumbers.

Nice little underrated game but the airplanes should move a bit slower or maybe there should be a sign of where an enemy will come on screen because getting randomly hit by an enemy coming onscreen isn't very fun.

i like it, but i cant play this for over 3 min. You get killed way to easily, with the bomb blast thing and the shaking. Like said, lives, health, or upgrades would help.

Ok, after playing a little more: are there just two enemies? Bosses? Better powerups? I like the idea of combining powerups, but limited ammo is too limited. Levels, waves, even a backstory would help.

How did this get featured? It's like the designer was trying to do too much while not doing too much. If you think about it, it's not that confusing.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
there should probably be an invincibility frame or two when you set off a bomb. YOu lose sight of the screen and get shot underneath a big orange blur. a real gamekiller

Its waaaaaaay too easy to die, and you have to completely start over, no matter what, and there's no way to really get better. would appreciate health or more lives, or something to increase survival.
